Chapter 124: Lilly

At the dawn of the following morning, everyone got themselves busy.

The snake and eagle clan handled the construction of the houses under the snake and eagle cheifs and with their collective power, a few story’s had already been established while another group was out reinforcing the city walls under Titan’s supervision

In the city hall, Scott was surrounded by different kings on his huge round table where a sketch of the city has been laid.

The east, west and south edges of the city are going to be our main areas of focus." He said and looked up to meet the ape king’s eyes. I heard that your clan has gorillas among them. I implore you to please arrange around three hundred gorilla warriors. The eagle clan has already dispatched five hundred warriors in a little while, I’ll in detail show how the warriors will be arranged...." He didn’t hold back and with ever passing hour, all the king’s were looking at Scott with bright eyes.

Sydney who had once again be left at home sat in the front courtyard on her swing. On her own, she was in deep contemplation on the current situation. Her mates had run out even before morning when news of a large number of herbivore beastmen were invaded by strays and they had no other choice but to flee over to the city of beastmen.

She had initially invited them to join the city but they had been reluctant.

The matters now forced them to come and seek refuge, unfortunately, the timing was bad. Ash had assured to do his best to help them.

From the corner of her eye, Sydney caught a small figure with bright red hair like her own. She jolted from her thoughts and immediately looked over to the side to catch a clear view of the small girl.

Sydney’s heart could be felt pulpitating from a few miles away as her breath broke. Her green eyes were locked with those of the small girl who looked liked her by alot, their only difference was the eye colour.

Sydney’s eyes begun to water without her notice and her legs moved.

Lilly who had intended to only have one last look at her mother before they left this place didn’t expect to be seen. She was too shocked to move as she looked at her mother who had tears in her eyes. How long had it been?!

Mother had left when she was still so young, a baby! All the stories she heard about her mother from her older brothers and since a long time she had longed to meet her.

They had planned to meet her on her birthday but with the current situation, they had to leave and she’d have to miss out on this opportunity.

Sydney saw the small girl turn her back on her to leave. Her heart was anxious as she let out a cry. "..wait!!" her hands stretched out to try and stop the girl. But the little girl didn’t stop as she hastened her footsteps to go back to the meeting area where her brothers were waiting for her.

Her cry attracted the lion brothers attention and they sprinted out of the house to go after her.

Sydney ran through the gate her eyes flooded with tears, she didn’t look where she was going and ended up colliding with the person at the front. This stalled for time giving Lilly a chance to leave.

"Lilly wait!!!!!" Sydney called out painfully as she sobbed pitifully, her heart in pain.

The male Sydney had bumped into was a little flustered seeing a female cry. I didn’t do anything! He was fast to prove his innocence.

A number of beasts who lived nearby had all come out upon hearing her cry. If was not that every day one got to see Sydney to their satisfaction since her mates would coil around her that only her red hair could be seen.

Other times she was being domineering and many males had already grown some form of fear for her despite their fascination for her.

But today ..it was a different case. She actually cried!

The male saw that many other beasts were flocking the scene. "I really did not do anything! She was the one who bumped into me!" He felt like crying!

Just from the beast marks on her body, he knew that she was a female to some great males in this city! He didn’t want to die!

"What do you mean you did nothing? The city lord’s female was crying when I came out! How could you have done nothing!?" One male asked accusingly.

"I really didn’t!" The poor guy felt his spine chill upon learning whose family this female came from.

"You are clearly not from around here! You actually dare to bully our city lord’s female?"

"Someone go inform the city lord!"

"Yes, don’t let this male go that easily!" The other beastmen clamoured angrily

The lion brothers weren’t any late.

Sydney stood there sobbing sadly with her head leaned against that male’s chest and her shoulder didn’t stop shaking.

Lilly had frozen as soon as she took a corner when she heard her mother call her name. Even her elder brothers who weren’t far away were not different from her.

Did their mother remember them?!

Impossible! Even the mere fact that they could bring her back was a once in a blue moon, her memories wouldn’t have returned too!

As they were still in their stupor, eldest of the lion brothers caught up to them.

Lilly was already in her elder brothers hands seating on his forearm. When she saw him, she raised her eyebrows at him. "What are you doing here?" She asked.

Eldest shifted from his lion form and stood before the small group of siblings. "Your highnesses!" He greeted.

Why did you send these two?" Lilly asked in displeasure.

They were the best option at that time."

I see." Lilly nodded in understanding. Why did you come to find us?" She asked.

There have been a few spies coming over to check Her highness’s mother. We dealt with them but couldn’t Pas the message back."

I know that much. Go back and keep monitoring the area and protect my mom. If worst comes to worst, you know what to do." Lilly said and he nodded. He shifted back into his lion form and blended hack intotnue growing crowd.

By the time he came back, Ray who had been out hunting the children was the one holding Sydney and glaring at the male who was the suspect of her behaviour. Word had also reached Titan and he was slithering back to the city.

In the house.

"What happened?" Ash ran into the house.

"I don’t know yet. The other beastmen say she was bullied." Ray said and elaborated a little about the situation.

"Are you sure she wasn’t the one who bullied?" Ken couldn’t help asking. Sydney had called asleep from the crying. She was not like her usual general domineering self, she had turned into a fragile little female who kept whimpering even in her sleep.

Where is he?" Ash asked.

Outside. Those beastmen didn’t let him leave and I let the lion brothers guard him till the rest of you return home." Ray said as he gently cooed Sydney to sleepy peacefully.

I’ll go over and see." Ash said and went out with Shawn and Ken’s company.

The male who had failed to clear his name had been dragged to the backyard and he was under the pressure of nine rank lion beastmen.

When Ash and the others were close, both brothers retracted their rank power and we’re back to their normal selves.

What did you do to our female?" Ken couldn’t wait to get over and hollered from where he was. "You actually dare to make her cry?" He asked as his fish clenched.

City lord!" The male cried out pitifully. He was already beaten up and his face held traces of wounds that were yet to recover. He didn’t want to be beaten up anymore.

Hold back!" Ash didn’t let Ken attack. He assessed the male from head to toe and sighed. Tell me, what happened. And don’t think of leaving out a single detail or the repercussions won’t be to your best interest."

I’ll say it all. I’ll say it!" The male was glad the city lord was rational. He recounted the whole thing from when he entered the city to when he stood dazed outside seeing the most beautiful female he had met in his life.

You dare have designs on our mate!" Ken flew with his punch ready to go but Ash glared him down.

I didn’t know..I mean..it wasn’t with bad intention. I was only looking a little but then, she looked up from where she was seated with fear and tears in her eyes before she ran out of the small door. I don’t know what I did to her but before I could move, she had crushed into me." He explained.

And you say you did nothing? Clearly her nose hurt from crushing into you! She was bound to cry!" Ken jumped up one more time.

Shawn could only roll his eyes. She was crying even before she ran out, okay! He wanted to reprimand Ken and his ancestors.

Did she say anything at that time?" Titan who had just walked in asked.

The male looked over to see another over the tenth rank beast and he gulped in fear. I don’t remember..I was only looking." He trembled.

Titan hissed in anger. "Then it only means it was you." He pointed.

It really wasn’t me! I would not dare ...oh...wait ..she said ’wait... Lilly wait!’" He recounted remembering those three words.

Ray who was also walking out halted upon hearing the name. Ash and Shawn froze.

Titan caught their behaviour and noted it. So the little girl that looked like Sydney was called Lilly..a beautiful name indeed! It seemed while he had sent a few snakes to tail them, they had retutto the city and he missed them by a slim chance.
