Chapter 72: Snake clan

The next morning Blake, victor, and Killian left for the snake clan outside the beast city. After traveling for fifteen minutes in their beast form, they reached their destination.

One of the snake beastman guarding the territory rushed catching a glimpse of Blake. He bowed respectfully and greeted him "Tony greets you, your majesty"

"Hmm" Blake acknowledged his greeting and opened his mouth "How is Peter doing?"

Tony frowned sadly "The leader is still recuperating your majesty"

Blake sighed hearing his answer, then he started walking inside the territory with Victor and Killian, then as he continued walking he started asking "Are you guys ready to get shifted to the beast city?"

"Yes your majesty, all the preparations are done, we will move in before the cold season" Tony replied

"That’s great" he affirmed "By the way, how many females do we have in our clan?"

"Ten your majesty" Tony responded

Blake nodded his head "Make sure to make the journey as comfortable as possible for the females"

"I will do so your majesty" he agreed.

Then he lifted his head "Your majesty, will you live with the snake clan once we reach the beast city?"

Blake shook his head "My mate is not a female from snake clan, she can’t adapt to our surroundings"

Tony nodded his head as he understood because the Snake clan normally lived in cold and damp places, this was also the reason for females’ wariness towards their kind. Only females from the snake clan could endure living in such an environment.

"Then can at least young masters stay with us, your majesty? Having them will bring stability and confidence for our men to reside in the beast city, it is the first time for savage beastmen like us to go into the beast city" Tony suggested

Blake thought about it a little and frowned "They are still small and not ready to take up the responsibility, but ill make sure they come and visit you from time to time"

Theodore raised his brows and smirked "You are a sneaky little bastard aren’t you? Calling me Father in law the moment you saw me"

Victor rubbed the back of his head "Did I offend you?"

Theodore rolled his eyes "Cut the chase, tell me where is my daughter?"

Blake moved forward and opened his mouth "Lilly is currently in the beast city"

Theodore’s eyes mellowed hearing his daughter’s name, he curiously looked at Blake "Is her name Lilly?"

"It’s Lyra, that snake just calls her Lilly" Killian chimed in.

Theodore turned towards Killian and frowned "Black Panther? Are you also my daughter’s mate?"

Killian smiled "I’m not just her mate, but her soulmate"

Theodore’s eyes widened, he turned towards Blake "Is it true?"

Blake nodded his head in agreement and spoke "Leave that matter, we have more important things to talk about"

"Important matters? Did that fox do something?" Theodore questioned angrily

Blake shook his head "Not yet, he still doesn’t know about Lyra, but the thing that I wanted to discuss with you is about Gregory"

"Gregory?" Theodore frowned "What about him?"

Victor and Blake glanced at each other, they were quite tense to talk about Lyra’s mother. Theodore’s temper was well known because of Peter, just by entering his cave, Peter underwent immense pain and injuries. So they contemplated for some time but soon decided to come clean. Victor carefully started speaking "Your mate Iria is still alive, she is held as a captive by Gregory"

The moment his words left his mouth, Victor was sent flying towards the stone wall. Theodore glared at him and said, "How dare you speak nonsense regarding Iria!?"

As he went to attack Victor, Killian flicked his fingers "Kenna, stop that annoying bird"

Following Killian’s order, Kenna formed a protective layer around Victor, preventing Theodore from getting near him.

Theodore glared at Killian "Remove this!"

"Listen to our words first, do you think we would joke about something so significant?" Killian snapped

Theodore’s eyes turned bloodshot and he gritted his teeth "My mate, she died right in front of my eyes, I fulfilled her funeral myself"

Blake sighed "That is where you are wrong, the body which was burned wasn’t your mate’s. She didn’t even die in the first place"

Theodore’s eyes flickered "What do you mean?"

Blake took a deep breath and started explaining "That day your mate didn’t die after saving Lilly, the sapphire of wish doesn’t exchange life for life in the first place, the dream which your tribe’s witch master had was fabricated".

Theodore slumped on the ground, his restless eyes started at Blake "Then what happend to Iria?"

"Someone tried to kill her after that, so the sapphire of wish took out her soul and tangled it inside the gem. Her soul is still inside the gem, once it’s in contact with her body, it will automatically release her soul. But the problem is that Gregory already knew this truth that day, so he tricked you into believing her death and took her body with him" Blake said

Theodore frowned "Why would Gregory do something like that?"

"He said it’s because you stole her from him" Victor gave an answer

"Stole her?"

Victor got up from the ground and wiped the blood from his mouth and nodded "After learning the truth, I interrogated him, Gregory hates you for becoming Iria’s mate. So he is trying to force the gem to let Iria’s soul into her body exchanging it with Lyra’s"

Theodore held his forehead "That bastard, he dares!"

"He also hates Lyra because she is your daughter, we need to protect her from him" Victor added

Theodore closed his eyes trying to calm his raging nerves "Where is he now?"

Blake replied "We don’t know yet, but we heard that he is not alone, he has the support of an immortal beastman"

"Prescott," Theodore said "These bastards did so much behind my back and I didn’t even realize"

"I’ll rip them into pieces," He said as he clenched his fists.
