Chapter 63: Bonfire

After two days, the day of the bonfire finally arrived and Lyra wore her new outfit a maxi dress made of a special fabric given by the mermaid king, it was a knee-length blue colored dress, she tied her waist with a ribbon from the same material, her hair was put in a messy bun with frills on both the sides of her forehead.

Getting ready, she came out of the bedroom smiling awkwardly. Blake turned to her and went into trance looking at her, Lucas on another hand blinked his eyes in a daze, then she heard Victor exclaiming "wow!" and at last Noah blushed and turned around.

"What happened?" she looked down at herself "Do I look weird?"

Victor’s eyes sparkled, he reached towards her making her flinch, then cupped her face "How can you look this lovely?"

Blake narrowed his eyes and removed Victor’s hand from her face "Don’t touch her with your dirty hands"

Victor rolled his eyes at Blake and turned towards her beaming, he stretched his hand out "Come, love, let us go to the bonfire"

Lyra went to hold his hand but her hand was snatched away from Lucas, he calmly spoke "I’m holding Ly’s hand"

Victor’s face fell and his eyes glistened, Lyra felt bad for him and stretched her other hand "You can hold this hand"

Victor nodded vigorously and reached to hold her but at the last instant Blake snatched it away, Victor glared at him, Lyra sighed and looked to both her sides "Why are you both so petty? He asked me first"

"I don’t care" came the quick answer from both of them simultaneously

Victor smirked at them "It’s fine love, I always find my way"

Both males look confused at him, and their confusion was cleared when Victor leaned forward to steal a kiss from Lyra, he smugly looked at them "This is my way"

Blake was blazing "You!"

"What?" Victor challenged raising his brows

Lyra’s face was flushed and she removed both her hands from them. She hastily walked towards the door and held Noah’s hand "I’m going with you today"

Noah smiled warmly and walked out together with her. Three males inside the house looked at them baffled, then they turned green with envy. ’That sly lion’

All of them reached the bonfire after a few minutes of walk, the wolf queen who was near the plaza strode towards them and held Lyra’s hand "You look, lovely child"

Lyra smiled in return and all of them walked to their bonfire. Outside the bonfire the scorpion king and Demir were welcomed by the fox king "Welcome your majesty the king and prince, I’m honored to have you both in the bonfire I hosted"

The scorpion king just nodded his head in response but Demir didn’t even acknowledge him, his eyes were constantly searching for someone near the bonfire, the fox king didn’t notice Demir’s lack of interest and continued talking "Prince Demir, today my only daughter Lexi is also attending the bonfire, she was very eager to meet you"

Demir ignored his words and went inside. The scorpion king narrowed his eyes "Stop pushing your luck your majesty, my son is not interested in your daughter"

Jacob gritted his teeth and forced a smile, then led the king to the plaza.

Demir frantically searched the entire area to find his sunshine, he was going crazy without seeing her for almost two days, after searching for a few more minutes he finally caught a glimpse of her. She was dazzling in the moonlight, her eyes were curved into a crescent moon with a subtle smile on her red lips, his legs involuntarily followed her line of sight neglecting his surroundings. Right at the moment when he was near to her a man’s large hand touched her cheeks, and in return she leaned against that man’s palm. Demir’s eyes flickered when he saw the face of the man near her, black hair with green eyes ’Blake’

His world came crumbling down witnessing Blake near his sunshine, then when he glanced to the side he saw Victor and Noah with another beastman near her. His mind refused to believe that the female he fancied was Blake and Victor’s female. He clenched his fist and strode towards their direction "I finally get to see you again sunshine"

Lyra looked towards the voice and widened her eyes in surprise, Blake and Victor also glanced towards him and narrowed their eyes, Blake opened his mouth "Demir?"

She glanced in between Blake and Demir "You know him, Blake?"

He nodded his head "I indeed know him but how do you know him, Lilly?"

"Oh, he was the one who I said that needed help inside the woods" she answered

Blake stared at Demir "What was wrong with you?"

"My poison was acting up" he replied

Then he smiled at Lyra "Can I join your bonfire?"

Victor raised his brows "Your father is right there waiting for you" he pointed towards the plaza

"I like to sit here" Demir snapped

Blake got up from his seat "I want to talk about something with you, follow me" then he caressed Lyra’s face "I’ll be back in a minute Lilly"

She nodded her head in approval, Blake eyed Demir to follow after him.

After reaching a secluded area Blake turned around and gripped Demir’s neck tightly "What is your intention in approaching my Lilly!?"

Demir clasped Blake’s hand and calmly removed it from his neck "You know that your threat won’t work on me right?"

"Demir!" Blake warned in a cold voice, his pupils turned into green slits "I can tolerate anything you do as long as you don’t mess with my Lilly, I heard from Victor that you were bitter about my relationship with her? stop your madness right now if you don’t want to end up dead in my hands"

Demir snickered "You can kill me?"

"Do you want to test?" Blake snapped

Demir narrowed his eyes and sighed "Look snake, I have no bad intentions towards my sunshine, all I want is her to stay with me, I love her"

Blake chuckled sarcastically "Is your heart even capable of loving someone?"

"Well a cold-hearted bastard like you can fall in love so it is not a surprise for me to feel the same" Demir replied

Blake narrowed his eyes and exhaled tiredly "Please stop this Demir" his eyes turned sharp as he continued "If you want someone to satisfy your madness then fight me and end it, but don’t you dare go near my Lilly, she is my only happiness"

Demir flinched in his place "What happend to you? From when did you start using ’please’ in a conversation?"

Blake smiled "I don’t care even if I have to bow to someone for my Lilly’s sake"

"You have changed" Demir commented and smiled faintly "Blake, I love her, I fell for her at first sight, she entered my life like blazing sunshine, I’ll not lie, I did think of killing her other males and capturing her but after thinking properly I realized that I wouldn’t be able to handle her sad face, she looks the prettiest when she smiles, I want to protect her smile with my life, so take out your negative thoughts about me from your brain and give me a chance to woo her"

Blake observed his face "Are you telling the truth?"

Demir nodded his head, Blake turned around "I don’t mind if she accepts you, but I will kill you if you force your feelings on her"

Demir smiled brightly "I promise that I won’t force her, but I can’t believe that you agreed so easily"

Blake raised his brows and smirked "It is because I know that my Lilly will never accept you without asking me, I can always oppose during that time"

"You!" Are you boasting right now?"Demir questioned glaring at him

Blake smiled smugly "Do you know who she loves the most?" he pointed his finger at himself "It is always me, so you better get on my good side for winning her favor"

"I’d rather roll around the ground for impressing her than ask for your help" Demir scowled

"Then continue rolling around" Blake commented and left the place

Walking a certain distance Blake’s face turned cold, he scanned his surroundings "Come out, I know that you are hiding"

Victor clicked his tongue and came out from his hiding "You are always sharp"

Blake just remained silent without answering, Victor observed his face and opened his mouth "Why did you do that? It is unlike you"

Blake leaned against a tree and folded his hands "I received some crucial information from my men yesterday"

"What is it?"

"The scorpion tribe has the only sage in the whole beast world, I want him to decipher the prophecy about my Lilly" he replied

Victor raised his brows "Did you accept him only for that reason"

Blake shook his head "I also learned that the fox king has more than fifty witch masters under his command, one sage equals a hundred of witch masters, I want him on our side and the sage is under Demir’s command, he declined to accept any other beastmen as his master" then he leaned forward and spoke in a serious tone "I also heard that Gregory is not alone, he has an immortal beastman by his side"

"Immortal beastman?" Victor furrowed his brows "But why would someone that powerful help Gregory?"

Blake gritted his teeth "He is one of the admirers of Lilly’s mother"

Victor grimaced "Another crazy bastard, I get chills even imagining how many twisted admirers my love will get in the future"

Blake chuckled "I already took care of ten of them, I buried them inside the ocean"

"What?" Victor asked in shock

Blake rolled his eyes "Why are you so surprised? It is natural of me to get rid of pests near my beautiful Lilly"

"But you said that you didn’t kill anyone in months because of bloodlust?" Victor asked curiously

"That is killing without reason" he asserted

Victor cackled "You are something else aren’t you?"

Blake smirked "You realized that just now? I’m only mellow in front of my Lilly"

Victor shook his head and left the place.
