Chapter 222: Join me

A knock on the door interrupted their alone time. Demir got up from his place before marching towards his room’s door.

"What is it?" he chimed in when he found a scorpion guard standing in front of his room.

The guard bowed his head in respect to the prince before he said, "We found the little princes of the lion tribe and snake tribe in the snake tribe under that tribe’s leader’s care"

Demir visibly relaxed as soon as he heard that and as the guard was pretty loud, Lyra too felt her worry subside.

After excusing the guard, Demir closed the door before walking into the room, "Killian must have heard" he commented before sitting beside her.

Lyra nodded at his words. The only one that was not with her at the fox banquet was Killian and the thought of him getting worried without knowing the proper situation made her frown, "He would have been so worried"

Demir knew that too and that’s why he sent one of his guards to inform Killian about her disappearance but that didn’t seem necessary as the latter had already left in search of their mate by the time the guard reached the rose castle. To think about it, It was obvious because Killian would have felt something wrong through his mate bond and acted accordingly even without others informing him and that fact made him a little bit envious of Killian. The female he loved was the soulmate of another male. It didn’t matter the said male was his friend. His heart throbbed painfully whenever he was reminded of Lyra and Killian being each other’s soulmates. But he had to make sure to never let his beloved female learn about this.....about his loathsome inner feelings.

’’Demir....Demir!’’ Lyra’s voice brought him out of his reverie. He looked at her as she asked confusedly, ’’What are you thinking so deeply?’’

’’It’s nothing’’ a lie as always flowed out of his mouth without any difficulty and to distract her from prying further, Demir slumped his head against her shoulder and hugged her, ’’Console me.....I was also worried about you’’ but this was true. He was indeed worried out of his mind when she disappeared all of a sudden back in the fox tribe’s banquet.

Lyra stared at Demir’s head on her shoulder with her eyes narrowed. She was not a fool to not know him even after all this time. Something was going on in his head but he was purposefully trying to convince her to think otherwise. He was always like this.....No! most of her mates were like this. It was as though they made a pact or something amongst themselves to show only pretty things and say nice words in front of her but they failed to understand that this was not what she wanted. Instead of hiding and suppressing their feelings, she wanted them to open up to her to share their worries. And when something like this happened, it seemed like they didn’t trust her as much as they said.

’’I want to take a bath’’ she announced still feeling upset. She wanted to relax and clear her mind with a bath.

Demir raised his head and stared at her, ’’Bath?’’

She nodded and pushed his head away before standing up, ’’Can you prepare some hot water for me? I feel sore all over my body’’

’’Sure.....’’ he said hesitantly while getting up from his place but his legs refused to walk anywhere away from her. He intently looked at her and noticed that she was frowning, ’’Are you angry, sunshine?’’ he couldn’t help but ask when it was clear from her face that she was upset but he didn’t know the reason for her sudden change of mood, ’’Did I do something wrong?’’ he asked to make sure but the reply he received made him freeze.

’’It’s nothing’’ Lyra said dismissively and started to walk away from that place but stopped when she felt a large palm gripping her arm. She tried to remove his hand forcefully but it was impossible due to the difference in their strength, however, that did not stop her from yelling, ’’Let me go! Take your hand off of me!’’

Demir furrowed his brows, ’’Sunshine, stop struggling! You are going to hurt yourself like this!’’ And when she didn’t stop, he bellowed, ’’Lyra!’’

She flinched in her place due to his loud voice and looked up at him with tear-filled eyes. Whereas, that look of hers was enough to placate him. Demir gingerly cupped her face between his palm and wiped her tears using the pad of his thumb, ’’Sunshine.....’’ she tried to turn her face away but he stooped her from doing so and continued to say in a soft voice, ’’I’m sorry sunshine...please don’t cry’’

’’You yelled at me’’ Lyra complained while still sobbing. She also didn’t like him calling her by her name. It was childish of her to think like this....but still, she didn’t like hearing him calling her anything other than sunshine.

On the other side, Demir’s eyes softened hearing her adorable mumbles. He was not able to stop himself from kissing her lips before saying, ’’I’m sorry’’

’’I’m sorry too’’ Lyra said but the next second, she fiercely glared at him and added, ’’Don’t yell me like that ever again. I hate it’’

’’Alright,’’ he agreed and embraced her. Both basked in each other’s arms in silence until Lyra broke it by saying, ’’I still want to take a bath though’’

’’Yeah, right’’ Demir pulled away, ’’I will be right back, sit here’’

Lyra smiled as he made her sit on the bed before he walked towards the bathhouse. Not long after, she heard the sound of a fire crackle followed by water splashing.

Inside the bathhouse, Demir made sure to fill the stone tub with hot water before going out to call his beloved.

’’It’s done, sunshine’’ he said as she trailed behind him and reached the bathhouse.

Demir thought about leaving but halted in his place and widened his eyes. How could he not when she started to remove her cloth as though not caring about his presence? It took her mere minutes and there she stood completely bare in front of him. His eyes followed all of her movements and watched as she reached the end of her toe into the water as though checking before she dipped herself wholly into the water. Heat rushed across his entire body and he had to clench his fists to stop himself from doing something that he would regret but the vixen taking bath seemed to think otherwise. She turned to him and directly met his feral gaze before parting her blood-red lips, ’’Are you really going to stand there like that?’’

He gulped audibly and waited with bated breath to hear her next words.

’’Join me, Demir. Let’s take a bath together’’ her seductive voice felt like a loud bang against his ears. He resembled a starved beast the next second when he rushed towards her.
