When Noah informed about the Fox tribe’s coronation banquet, all of their reaction was similar to Lucas’. Even he did not like his mate going out. Not when there was still a crisis going on with stray beasts inside the city.

For now, they had everything in control and did not see any stray beasts roaming around the city but one could never guess. Worse could occur when least expected and that could end very badly.

They were not ready to take a chance in this matter. And the biggest reason for their stubbornness was because of a certain wretched merman. When Kyrell informed about Gregory staying inside the black wolf tribe, they were convinced that the crisis going on now was definitely because of him. The sudden death of King Alexander of the Black wolf tribe and Princess Elena’s dumb decision of letting those stray beasts inside her tribe couldn’t be coincidental. Someone must be pulling the strings behind her back and Gregory was the very good candidate that can do it. He is manipulative and gets away with most things, so the death of King Alexander must have been a good opportunity for him.

’’It is risky out there’’ Killian said with a frown etched on his face, ’’It would be our foolishness if we still let her out’’

After hearing Noah’s words, the first thing that came to his mind was to keep this matter secret from his mate but it seemed impossible now because he also learned that their mate already knew about it and was not happy with not telling her sooner. He also heard about her fight with Lucas but that didn’t matter anymore because the entire house reeked of the scent of their lovemaking. He had not touched his mate for a long time and that wolf getting lucky was no less than torture.

On the other side, Victor’s face was grim with displeasure and he kept on clenching and unclenching his fists trying to keep his calm. His senses were not that sharp compared to others but that did not stop the sweet scent of his mate mixed with that bloody wolf from reaching his nose. And he had to admit that it was testing his patience but the conversation about the Fox tribe’s banquet, sobered him up. He didn’t know what others would decide in the end, but he would never let his mate out of the house.

Kyrell who was observing all of them in silence finally decided to state his opinion. It was actually a question that was bothering him, ’’What about Lyra?’’ everyone turned to look at him as he continued, ’’What if she wants to go? We cannot decide everything for her, can we?’’

Blake got lost in thought hearing his words. The eagle beastman was right. Knowing his mate, she would definitely try to fulfill her duties no matter what they are. Until now, none of them informed her about the queen’s duties to not burden her but now it was all in open. She learned the truth and was upset with them.

If asked, he wanted her to continue staying like this without any responsibilities. He was more than enough to take care of the snake tribe together with Peter but he also did not want to take his mate’s rights away from her. She was important to him and that made her important to all of his tribe.

He wanted them to respect and look up to her as their queen but that was not something he could force them to do.

His tribesmen were mindful of him for now and wouldn’t dare disrespect or talk behind her back but that would not last long. If she doesn’t attend a coronation banquet where all the other tribe’s queens attend then that could put her in the wrong light and he could never tolerate that. He cannot let his selfishness hinder her in any way.

After weighing all of the possibilities, he finally made the decision and opened his mouth, ’’I think Lilly should attend the event. One of us has to always stay with her throughout the occasion to keep her safe’’

"And do you think that is possible?’’ Victor snapped as soon he finished his words, ’’Did you already forget what happened in the last banquet?’’ All of them were near her back then but the worst still happened. She was kidnapped but luck was on their side because the one to do that was Kyrell.

"What if it was not Kyrell?’’ he added when Blake remain silent, ’’I do not even want to imagine otherwise’’

’’He is right Blake’’ Killian said supporting the latter, ’’Remember that you almost lost your control and started to destroy everything around you. What makes you think that it would not happen again?’’

’’Why are you bringing that up right now?’’ Blake asked frowning. He still felt ashamed of that day when he got lost in his bloodlust instead of searching for his mate. He couldn’t help it. That day due to Kyrell’s powers he was not able to sense his mate and that sent him into a frenzy. The only reason for not sensing his mate that he believed for a long time didn’t include something like mystical powers. If one failed to sense their mate, then it meant that their mate is either in grave danger or dead. How could he have stayed calm even after knowing that?

Meanwhile, Killian who was facing him had a nonchalant face as he said, ’’I was just reminding you of that day in case you have forgotten’’ He knew that day must have traumatized Blake but that had nothing to do with him. Lyra is his soulmate and he was able to sense her even when Kyrell used his powers. Maybe that’s why he was able to maintain his calm without going crazy.

As they continued to argue regarding the banquet, Lyra came down the stairs and all of their eyes instantly fell on her form.

She smiled faintly as she walked toward them. Victor was the first to react as he pulled her to him before hugging her.

Lyra rubbed his back and pulled away from him, ’’What were you guys talking about?’’

In a flash, all of them got alerted by her question. She observed as they struggled to give her an answer. Then something flashed in her mind and she parted her lips, ’’If it is about the Fox tribe’s banquet, I want to inform you that I will be attending’’

"No, you can’t’’ Victor growled as soon as she finished her words.

Lyra raised her brows at him, ’’Yes, I will" then she glanced at all of them, ’’Prince Xavier saved my babies and I will be forever thankful for that. Not attending will be disrespectful to him. Even without the queen’s duties, I would have to attend it, so I hope all of you understand my stance before disagreeing’’

’’It is dangerous outside, baby dove’’ Noah said and her eyes fell on him.

’’Are you asking me to hide all my life? You know that I can’t do that’’

’’That’s not what he is saying, Treasure’’ said Killian, ’’As you know, there are stray beasts inside the city. To make it worse, that wretched merman is also with them’’

Lyra could understand their worry but this was something she had to do. She did not care what others talked about her but that is not the same with her babies. They will be the ones to take the throne of their respective tribes after their fathers and she did not want any of the tribesmen to look down on them because of her. It would definitely happen. The tribesmen will always point out her failure in fulfilling her duties and that could negatively impact her babies.

She knew that she couldn’t do all the work when she was mates with multiple king beastmen. So the least she could do is attend the important banquets and visit the tribes whenever she had time.
