Chapter 122: Escaping
Chapter 122: Escaping
Both remained in each other’s embrace in silence. Victor’s heart relaxed after receiving her reassurance but in the next instant another concern weighed it down.
Would she have accepted me if not for the prophecy? Previous owners of sapphire of wish in his tribe rarely got more than one mate. He knew that Lyra’s world practiced monogamy, so was she just accepting him because she had no other choice? Blake is her first love and Killian is her soulmate. Then where does he stand in her life? A nobody who was forced into her life?
No! he screamed inside his head, that can’t be...I should make her mine...Right now!
Lyra was oblivious of his inner turmoil as he pulled away and stared at her. Then without saying anything, he started kissing her lips. She was surprised but soon returned his kiss.
They were already naked so it was easy for him to enter her core. She straddled him and started moving her hips following his movements.
Victor buried his face on the crook of her neck and inhaled her fragrance. She was finally his today and after this prophecy is finished, he would make sure to be the only one standing beside her.
These dark emotions hit him hard and his rationality was completely gone. He knew that his thinking was wrong, but he was not able to control it. The only thing that remained in his mind was to kill off the other males in his beloved’s life.
Lyra grasped him tightly when he increased the tempo and soon filled her with his seeds. They laid back on the bed, feeling exhausted after their intense lovemaking. Victor glanced at the delicate figure on his chest and smiled bitterly, "I tried my best..." he whispered knowing that she was already asleep and cannot hear him, "I really tried my best to accept other males’ presence in your life, but I can’t anymore, sweet girl...I just realized that I love you too much for to me share you with others"
Lyra stirred sending him into a panic. Did she hear him!? His heart was beating wildly but soon calmed when she snuggled closer to him with her eyes still closed. He sighed relief, hugging her tightly he too entered slumber.

A canopy of thick trees covered the entire night sky inside the forest on the outskirts of the beast city.
Amidst the desolate-looking forest, a stone cave lit with fire inside could be seen. Gregory got up from his place and stretched the stone bowl filled with food in front of Iria, but the latter just ignored his presence and turned her face away.
Gregory narrowed his eyes, "Iria?"
She remained still, not at all looking at him. He sighed in frustration, "Please don’t do this Iria...You have not eaten anything for the past few days"
Iria glimpsed at him, "How can I be sure that you have not drugged the food? You seem to not mind poisoning or killing anyone for your benefit. I don’t trust you"
He gritted his teeth at her harsh words, "Why are you behaving like this? This is not like you"
She looked at him in disbelief, "You accept me to behave like my past self after all the things that you have done to me and my family?" Have you lost your mind? She wanted to ask this but held back to not ask the obvious question. The Gregory she knew was long gone and the one in front of her was just a maniac trying to fulfill his own greed by tormenting innocent people.
"Iria..." tears filled his eyes, her words pierced his heart like a sharp knife. He knew his mistakes but he was just a man in love, the horrible things he had committed felt alright as long as he could have her in his life.
He was still lamenting himself while she continued her words, "I don’t remember meeting someone like you in my memories" her eyes turned bloodshot with unshed tears as she added, "The Greg that I know is not you, he was a self-righteous person who put his life on the line for his tribe. He was someone who loathed people who hurt innocents, he would not think twice to save the ones in need" A bitter smile adorned her lips the more she talked, "But the one standing in front of me now is not Gregory. If that is the case then I never knew you"
He bent his head and closed his eyes trying to suppress various emotions that surged within his heart. Then in silence, he left her side and exited the cave but made sure to block the entrance with his witch master’s powers. He sighed and turned around but received a heavy blow on his face which sent me crashing on the nearby tree.
Gregory coughed up a mouth full of blood and looked at the one who attacked him. His eyes widened looking at the least expected person in front of him, "How did you?"
"How did I find this place?" asked Prescott with a sneer on his face, "Did you really think that you could fool me and hide her?"
The merman clenched his fists in frustration, he made sure to not inform this tiger about Iria returning with him but it seems that he neglected Prescott’s powers which could manipulate other power to track it down.
Prescott stared down at him with a smirk hanging on his lips, "You are really something aren’t you? Ah! I know what you are" he exclaimed, "A despicable traitor. You are just like that Garrison and I hate people like you the most"
Gregory got up from the ground taking support of the tree behind him. He thought about teleporting inside the cave and taking Iria out of there but widened his eyes when he sensed his barrier being trespassed. Because of Prescott’s hit, he was quite some distance away from the cave.
Prescott squinted his eyes looking at Gregory fidgeting in his place, he was confused in the beginning but widened his eyes when he sensed his enemy’s presence inside the forest. Without wasting any more time, both dashed towards the cave but found it empty.
Meanwhile, somewhere else still inside the forest, Iria looked at her wrist being dragged by the person she least expected to meet in this place. Her lips involuntarily turned upward forming a faint smile. She was happy, how could she not be when it was her Gary?
Garrison’s heart was palpitating inside his chest not because of fact that he was being chased, but because he was holding his beloved’s hand. He quickly darted out of the forest and entered the beast city, but then came the dilemma of not knowing where to take her. He was currently residing in the fox tribe but taking her there was not possible because that fox bastard hated his Iria.
He stood lost in his place but came out of thoughts when he felt a soft touch on his shoulders, "We can go to the eagle tribe, it is currently empty" she knew that her daughter’s mates turned that place upside down after her abduction and also heard that the tribesmen left that place to reside somewhere safe.
He was confused by her words but without having any other choice, took her towards the eagle tribe.
When they finally reached the place, Iria looked at it with disbelief. The entire tribe was reduced to debris with broken walls of the palace still hanging. Garrison scanned the place and found no one’s presence so entered inside the broken castle with Iria behind him. The place was destroyed but it was alright for taking refuge until sunrise.
Iria observed him as he cleared the ground making a place for them to sit.
After making sure that it was clean enough, he looked up to her and stretched his hand. Iria took his hand, but instead of sitting on the ground, she sat on his lap and hugged him tightly. Tears streamed down her eyes and she tightened her clasp around him, "I missed you...."
Garrison was surprised by her sudden hug but soon returned her embrace. His eyes sparkled in happiness that he never felt after her demise in the past, "I missed you too"
