Chapter 111: Talk to me

Kyrell blinked his eyes dazed because of her unexpected words. Why did she want to talk to him now? Or was this also some kind of trick to get out of his grips. His brain and heart contradicted each other, he wanted to not believe her but his eyes mellowed looking at her adorable face. She was so beautiful.

Lyra observed his eyes fluctuating with various emotions but his face remained stoic and devoid of movements, "Why are you not speaking?" she was not able to help but ask this. What was wrong with this guy? Wasn’t he the one complaining of not trying to understand him?

He came out of his thoughts and gazed at her, "I have never had a proper conversation before. I don’t know what to say"

And that hit Lyra’s heart with a pang, she felt terrible for assuming things about him. Her hand involuntarily met his and she noticed him flinch, "It’s fine, say whatever comes to your mind and I will listen" he clenched his jaws as she continued, "You can do that right?"

Kyrell nodded his head, "I can"

"Good," she said and waited eagerly for him to speak.

He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes and parted his lips, "I’m Kyrell, and I’m the new eagle king"

Lyra pursed her lips trying to hold back but ultimately failed and laughed out loud making him baffled. He was like a kindergarten kid introducing himself to his class.

But poor Kyrell misunderstood her and thought that he did something wrong, "Sorry..."

"What are you apologizing for?" she asked still between her laughs but his next words made her frown.

"Because I’m a disappointment," he said, "Father said that I can’t do anything right, he blamed me for not transferring my powers to Derek"

"Transferring powers?" she asked still frowning and he nodded his head, "When I was young, he took me to some people and asked them to switch my powers to Derek, and when that failed he reprimanded me for not giving it up" his hands tightened against hers as he continued, "Lyra.....I really didn’t mean to stop it. I have to admit that I was reluctant at first, but after knowing that the one that I had to give it up to was my brother, I was okay with it. But even that failed and it made them loathe me even more"

Tears surged out of Lyra’s eyes as she gazed at Kyrell’s stoic face cracking the more he talked. She held back her tears and urged him to continue, Lyra wanted him to spill out all of his fears and torments. She wanted him to at least feel less burdened after explaining everything because healing completely was not possible in such a short time. It would take time and company and she wanted to be that company for him. She laughed inwardly, Wasn’t she such a trashy girl? Her mates were waiting for her back at home but here she was thinking about being a company to another male.

She came out of her thoughts when Kyrell continued his words, "I always thought about the reason for my parents to abandon me but found none and that is when Derek said that I was thrown away because I deserved it" he smiled sadly, "He said that I was born to be left out, that I deserved no one’s love...A person like me shouldn’t have hope for love that I should get used to this lonely life. I didn’t want to but ultimately I too believed his words until I saw you"

He looked at her jewel-like blue eyes and added, "I lost all my reason, and the only thing I gave attention to was that you were destined to be with me. Now tell me Lyra...How could I just give up the only possibility of finding love which I for so long craved? How could I have felt when I heard that someone else stole you away from me?" he clenched his jaws, "I was angry...no I was scared" he said changing his words hastily, "I was terrified of losing you...my only hope"

Lyra remained silent and observed him. He was like a wounded beast....no a terrifyingly dangerous beast that might pounce and kill anyone if she left. His hands were tightly clasped around hers and his jaw was clenched with restrained anger. He was trying his best to not burst out and kill Killian because he was mindful of her presence. That Gregory bastard! She would be one to kill him one day. He used Kyrell’s greatest fear for his advantage not caring about the effect it would have on the one who already had a trauma.

She took a deep breath and embraced him, "Thank you for sharing your worries with me"

Kyrell was shocked but slowly embraced her back and buried his face against her neck, "You will not leave me right?"

"Hmm," she said, "I will always be with you"

He smiled and tightened his hug as she continued talking, "But you have to promise me that you will believe my words and not that Gregory’s"

Kyrell pulled away from her and eagerly nodded his head, "I promise"

Lyra blinked her eyes, why were males from this world so easy? No, they were naive and easily believed their beloved’s words without caring about right and wrong, and Lyra felt somewhat uncomfortable for using them like this, but it was not her intention to do so, they voluntarily let her use them and she did....Ah....she really was a trashy girl.

But now was not the time to self-reprimand so she came out of her thoughts and stretched out her right wrist towards Kyrell. Seeing his confused face she explained, "This is Killian’s mark"

And as she expected, his face turned dark but she continued her words, "Killian too has my mark on his right wrist" he frowned at that and she added, "This proves that I and he are soulmates...he never stole your place instead his place was stolen away by others"

"I don’t understand," he said. So she said everything Killian told her once, "Killian is a black panther and their kind has soulmates who are predestined for them. The females who become their mates also stay with only them and no one else...But because of some prophecy, I was destined with Six males. Killian was enraged at the beginning and wanted to take me away but because of my safety...he endured and decided to share me with others"

Kyrell was at a loss for words but one thing that caught his attention was involuntarily ignored during their first meet, "Is that Merman really trying to kill you?"

"I don’t know" she answered honestly, "He despised me because he thought that my mother died saving me, but now that she is back to life, I don’t know anymore"

"Back to life?"

"Uh?" then she realized that he didn’t know about her past and said everything regarding the ’sapphire of wish’, her world, and how she ended up in the beast world.

Kyrell listened to everything attentively and said, "I will kill that merman"
