"I... I didn’t want to put you at risk," Lin Qianru said softly.

"Do you really think I could bear to watch you go back to Hang City alone?"

Holding Lin Qianru tightly, Lu Tianxing said emphatically, "Don’t worry, you are my woman, and I won’t just abandon you. I’ll go back to Hang City with you. If the Tan Family dares to make a move, I’ll wipe them out for you."

Lu Tianxing said with a sly smile, "But what if my mother-in-law refuses to acknowledge me as her son-in-law? I think I need to put in a bit more effort to get you pregnant. Then, with a shotgun wedding, she’d have to agree even if she didn’t want to."

Upon hearing this, Lin Qianru’s cheeks flushed red, but her eyes held a trace of longing. Having a child would give her something to anchor her spirit to, even if Lu Tianxing left her in the future.
