Chapter 1011: Chapter 807 Purification Curse (Two in One)
"Didi."
As soon as Adinixi appeared, its eyes were glued to the food on the dining table.
"Want to eat?" Qiao Sang offered a friendly smile.
Adinixi looked at the human in front of it, then at the food on the table. Ultimately, it couldn’t resist the temptation and nodded.
Seeing this, Qiao Sang felt a flash of joy in her heart and seized the chance to say, "I hope you can help predict Yaobao and the others’ next evolution location. Is that possible?"
"Xun Xun!"
Before Adinixi could answer, a tiny Xun Xun rushed forward anxiously, letting out a cry, indicating this fellow had already promised earlier that it would consider.
Having a Beast Tamer convince someone was entirely different from convincing someone oneself.
If Adinixi were convinced by her Beast Tamer, then all her own efforts would be overlooked. When Yaobao and the others heard the flute, they wouldn’t realize the hard work she’d put in behind the scenes—how would she maintain her status as the leader then?
She absolutely couldn’t allow such a thing to happen!
"Xun Xun!"
Xun Xun looked at Adinixi, giving it a "say something already" expression.
"Didi..."
Adinixi gazed at Xun Xun and recalled how earlier it had eaten all the food in her ring, feeling a twinge of guilt. It nodded with a cry, indicating that was indeed the case.
Xun Xun breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, this fellow could still speak reliably; her earlier efforts hadn’t been in vain.
Qiao Sang froze for a moment, then laughed and said, "That’s great! Have you thought about it yet?"
Adinixi, seeming easygoing, had willingly entered Xun Xun’s ring twice and even helped fend off some wild Pet Beasts. Thinking Adinixi wasn’t hostile to her and seemed on good terms with Xun Xun, predicting with the flute didn’t seem like too much of a problem.
Imagining Adinixi agreeing to help, Qiao Sang felt her heartbeat quicken.
Besides Xun Xun, whether it was Yaobao, Lubao, or Gangbao—they all desperately needed this prediction.
"Didi."
Upon hearing the words, Adinixi shifted its gaze back to the food on the table, swallowed hard, then flashed a glimmer in its eyes before sighing and shaking its head. It cried out, indicating it wished it could predict, but it couldn’t.
Qiao Sang didn’t understand what it meant, but anyone could understand the head-shaking gesture.
Her heart sank immediately, but still unwilling to give up, she turned to Xun Xun and said, "Translate."
"Xun Xun."
Xun Xun paused for a moment before starting the translation.
"Xun Xun?"
After translating, she gritted her teeth and called out to Adinixi, demanding, "Why?"
This was precisely the question Qiao Sang wanted to ask too.
She looked at Adinixi, silently asking with her eyes.
"Didi."
Adinixi displayed a helpless expression.
It wasn’t as simple as wanting to predict; it had already done a prediction earlier and needed some time before it could perform another.
"Xun Xun."
Upon hearing this, Xun Xun let out a breath and translated accordingly.
Though it couldn’t predict immediately, it wasn’t a big issue. As long as Adinixi agreed eventually, she’d still be the biggest contributor, and Yaobao would still relinquish the position of leader to her later.
Qiao Sang mulled over it for a few seconds and asked, "When did you predict? How long does it need to be before you can predict again?"
After a pause, she cautiously added:
"Are you willing to stay here until you can predict again?"
This is exactly the question Adinixi had been waiting for... With two quick cries of "Didi" and "Didi," it first answered the earlier questions.
When answering the last question, it displayed a conflicted expression, then sighed like it was surrendering and nodded.
"Didi."
Yes, it could stay—but food during its stay had to be fully provided.
This time, Xun Xun didn’t translate right away but looked at Adinixi with a puzzled expression.
"Xun Xun?"
What? The earlier prediction had been for her?
"Didi."
Adinixi nodded.
"Xun Xun..."
Xun Xun fell into deep thought.
It did seem that she’d heard this fellow’s flute before and seen a different scene...
So, was that her next evolution location?
"Adinixi has already predicted for you?" Qiao Sang pieced together Xun Xun’s question with Adinixi’s nod and her face lit up, reasoning aloud.
"Xun Xun..."
Xun Xun looked at her Beast Tamer and nodded.
Qiao Sang’s face brightened, and she immediately asked, "Did you see your next evolution location?"
"Xun Xun..."
Xun Xun hesitated momentarily, then nodded.
So Adinixi had already made a prediction for Xun Xun; that was good news. Though Xun Xun wasn’t like Yaobao or Gangbao, whose evolution forms and pathways were unknown, or like Lubao, whose evolution was as daunting as undergoing tribulations, knowing the evolution location was better than knowing nothing. Asking Xun Xun to directly describe the location wouldn’t work—she’d have to quickly find a Pet Beast capable of materializing mental images to ensure Xun Xun wouldn’t forget the appearance of her evolution location... Various ideas raced through Qiao Sang’s mind, leaving her momentarily speechless.
