Chapter 1008: Chapter 806: Where Have I Seen This Before... (Combined)
The public broadcast echoed with a pleasant female voice:
"Dear passengers, all wild Pet Beasts within the airport have been cleared. However, due to the damage caused by the wild Pet Beasts, all flights are delayed. The updated departure times will be announced based on the actual situation. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and will do our best to provide the assistance and support you need. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."
The passengers in the waiting hall broke into cheers instantly.
Rather than questioning the airport’s negligence, their first emotions were relief and joy for having survived the ordeal.
...
The tarmac.
The staff busied themselves repairing the ground and inspecting the damages to the aircraft.
Although large-scale attack Skills had been avoided during the earlier confrontation, the sheer number of wild Pet Beasts that had broken in—followed by a second wave—had nonetheless caused some damage to the airplanes.
Fortunately, the second wave of wild Pet Beasts had come and gone swiftly, so the losses weren’t particularly severe.
Aqiel looked at Qiao Sang and gave her a heartfelt smile: "We really have you to thank this time. Without you, there’s no way we could have resolved the wild Pet Beasts so quickly."
Qiao Sang returned a gentle smile:
"Helping everyone is also helping myself, after all, I’m here too."
If it weren’t for her, this whole situation might not have occurred...
What a selfless and honorable child. She’s done so much yet doesn’t seek credit... Aqiel’s gaze softened even more.
Then, as if remembering something, he pulled out a business card from his pocket and handed it over:
"This is my card. If you ever come back to the Thirtieth District and need anything, feel free to reach out to me."
I don’t think I’ll ever come back to the Thirtieth District... Qiao Sang accepted the card, glanced at it, and put it away. "Thank you, I will."
"Where are you heading?" Aqiel asked.
"The First District," Qiao Sang replied.
The First District... Well, that makes sense. Only a place like the First District could produce such a talented child... Aqiel unconsciously glanced at the Pet Beasts near her, none of which he recognized.
The Thirtieth District was teeming with wild Pet Beasts, and one could see almost every type of Pet Beast here, even some exceptionally rare ones.
Beast Tamers from the Lower Ten Districts and Middle Ten Districts often came to the Thirtieth District to try their luck contracting rare Pet Beasts when their budgets for better regions weren’t sufficient.
Yet with all the diversity in the Thirtieth District, Aqiel didn’t recognize a single one of the child’s Pet Beasts.
How incredibly rare must they be...
Aqiel withdrew his gaze and asked:
"Which flight is it?"
"The one at 3:30 a.m.," Qiao Sang said with a wry smile. "I was just about to board when this whole thing happened."
Hearing this, Aqiel fell silent for a moment, then said:
"Inspecting all the planes parked here will likely take several hours. If you’re in a hurry, another flight heading to the First District will arrive in about ten minutes. I can arrange for your ticket to be rebooked."
Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up instantly:
"Really?"
"Of course," Aqiel said with a smile.
Passengers heading from the Thirtieth District to the Upper Ten Districts were always few and far between, so he was confident the upcoming flight to the First District would have plenty of empty seats.
"That’s amazing, thank you so much!" Qiao Sang said gratefully.
She had barely managed to deal with those five people and didn’t want to waste time waiting, especially if it meant running into two even more troublesome ones in the process.
Particularly that Grade-A Beast Tamer—who knew what tricks he might have up his sleeve.
"It’s we, the airline staff, who should be thanking you," Aqiel said. Then he turned away to make a phone call and contacted the staff responsible for rebooking tickets.
Qiao Sang took out her phone and dialed Billet’s number again.
"Ring—ring—"
This time, the call connected, and a familiar voice came through the speaker: "Hello."
Finally, he picked up... Qiao Sang perked up and hastily asked, "Teacher, are you okay?"
"I’m fine," Billet replied. His voice sounded a bit strange, like someone who had just finished crying and still had a stuffy nose. "You haven’t boarded yet?"
"Not yet. There was an incident earlier, so my flight was changed. I should be boarding soon," Qiao Sang said. She hesitated as she thought of his tone earlier. "Are you *really* okay?"
"I’m fine." Billet coughed twice, his voice sounding a little more normal now. "Just focus on getting back to the First District. It seems those two people received some kind of intel—they’ve already left and are likely heading in your direction. I’ll book a flight tomorrow to return."
After a brief pause, he let out a choked sound but quickly suppressed it. Then he added, "Let’s leave it at that for now. There are a lot of wild Pet Beasts out here."
Qiao Sang: "...Alright."
