Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 86: He was what?
Chapter 86: He was what?
VALENCIA’S POV
I looked at him wide-eyed.
He just didn’t dare to raise his hand on a human! At a HUMAN party!!
"Is that punch enough to snap you out of your anger, Aiden? Look at what you were doing?" Shadow said to Aiden before he turned to me and immediately held my good hand, pulling me close to himself.
"Why did you let him hold you in the first place? Have you not learned your lesson already?" He asked.
My heart thumped against my chest. I was well aware that Carl was also here.
And I didn’t want him to say anything that would get us into a problem.
"Valencia, what did I say about getting hurt?" Carl asked, looking at Shadow with a weird expression before he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of Shadow’s grip, my shoulder hitting his chest as he almost engulfed me in his warm embrace.
Wait. What the hell was happening here? Why was everyone getting handsy with me in the first place? I am not a doll or something that they can pull me here and there just like that.
"Valencia, oh god, I am so sorry. I just..." Aiden immediately got up from his place and looked at my hand where he had drawn the blood.
It was a good thing, I wasn’t a proper werewolf and Aurora knew how to control our healing abilities which stopped my wounds from healing right in front of humans.
"Don’t touch her," Carl glared at Aiden, pushing him back, his hand wrapped around my waist protectively, and I looked at the two wolves who were overdoing it.
"Carl, are you sure you want to act like this?" I asked Carl, who was the most rationalist of the two of them and he looked down at me.
"I am not causing a scene, princess, but you gotta draw a line too," Carl said before he stepped ahead and walked to Aiden’s dad, followed by Shadow.
I was sure that his dad would cause a ruckus because they just hit his son, but to my surprise rather than saying anything, he bowed to Shadow.
I would’ve understood if it was Alpha Maverick, but why was that man bowing to Shadow, who was a mere secretary in their eyes?
"Valencia," Aiden came back again, and I looked at the remorse in his eyes.
"I have no words to tell you how sorry I am. It’s just when I heard you rode that black horse, all the images of how my best friend died a painful death right in front of me with that horse stomping on him started to cloud my mind. I was afraid for you. What would’ve happened if something like that had happened to you too? I didn’t realize my grip was hurting you. Please forgive me. I beg for your forgiveness," Aiden said, standing right in front of me.
I saw his eyes tearing up and my heart ached for him.
Honestly, I know Aiden showed symptoms of having anger issues, but I could see where he was coming from too.
Instinctively I would stay a little away from him, but I wasn’t particularly angry.
How can I act like a hypocrite when I have bigger anger issues than him? And the last time he did something against my wishes, I had actually sliced his hand pretty badly, but he had just smiled in return and even apologized.
I wasn’t one of those girls, who like to act all cool and annoy others but when it comes to them, they cry and fret over it.
"I won’t say it’s okay. Please give me some time to get over it," I said, and he nodded his head before he looked to his right side where a man quickly brought the first aid kit for him.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side.
"I am so sorry for causing you pain. I always vouched that I would protect you, but -" Aiden gulped, struggling with his words, and I sighed.
My gaze shifted back to where Shadow was standing with Aiden’s father as they were talking about something.
However, rather than looking at uncle, he was looking directly at me, his gaze promising nothing good.
I know he was pissed.
I wasn’t sure if he was more pissed at Aiden because he definitely showed his anger by punching him, or if he was pissed at Carl who pulled me away from his grip.
With a sigh, I forced myself to look away from him, afraid I would lose myself in his gaze and end up doing something that would mess everything up.
"Stop fretting over it," I told Aiden, and he nodded, wiping the sweat on his forehead.
Once he cleaned the blood from my wounds, I urged him to quickly wrap a bandage around it as Aurora was having a hard time controlling her healing now.
"Done," he said, and I sighed before taking out the Q-tip and dabbing it in disinfectant.
"Come here," I pulled his chair close with my good hand before cleaning the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Feeling his gaze focused on my face, I sighed once I was done.
"What?" I looked at him before taking the little ointment on another Q-tip.
"How can you be so considerate of me after what I did to you?" He asked, and I shrugged.
"Because you were once considerate of me and believed me when no one was doing it. You trust me and keep my secrets. I can’t go against a man like you who knows a bit too much. It’s either you are staying with me or staying 6 ft under the ground," I said, and he chuckled before wincing when I dabbed his wound a little harder.
He looked at me with an apologetic expression, and I rolled my eyes before I saw him looking at Shadow and Carl.
"Isn’t that man your temporary guardian? What is he doing here?" He asked, and I shrugged.
I really had no idea what Carl was doing here.
"What surprises me most is what our professor is doing here," I commented, feeling dazed as my eyes found the man again.
"Don’t you know? Maverick Aurelius is the strongest man in the state, and probably in the nation," Aiden asked me, and I chuckled.
Of course, how could I not know?
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry about the earlier ruckus between my son and the girl he is pursuing, I swear these boys can be so clueless sometimes they don’t know how to treat their women right. Let’s begin our first dance. Have you reconciled, Princess Valencia? Or do I need to smack his head too?" Aiden’s father looked in our direction, and I blushed at the attention.
What was this princess nickname?
"It’s all cool, Dad. I admit I was a jerk and have promised to slave for her the entire year," Aiden said, and his father chuckled.
"Following your dad’s footsteps, aren’t you?" The man grinned before he went to announce things.
"Will you honor me with your first dance?" Aiden asked and I looked at him.
’Don’t do it. Shadow won’t like it,’ Aurora warned.
I rolled my eyes.
’And since when did other’s opinions start to matter so much to me?’ I asked her before placing my hand in Aiden’s.
"Just because you said you would slave away for a year and I came to this party only for you," I said and the man went on his knees before kissing the back of my hand and leading me to the middle of the floor.
"It’s a rotatory dance. People will change partners," I said, not liking the idea anymore, but before I could move, the song started already and Aiden started to dance slowly, ensuring he didn’t stress my hands at all.
We could only dance for a couple minutes when out of the blue the song changed and everyone started to change partners with a confused expression.
The lights dimmed immediately, and I looked around, feeling confused, not wanting to dance with any old creep.
I was about to step away from the circle when someone held my hand and pulled me with a jerk, my face hitting his chest lightly.
The familiar scent of his masculine dominating cologne wafted through my nostrils, and I gasped when he placed his hand on my butt rather than my waist.
"I told you I don’t like when another man touches you. Haven’t I made it clear?" He asked before twirling me around.
"You don’t control me, Shadow," I whispered, however, it was probably a mistake.
"Oh, Mitsuki, you shouldn’t have said things like these. Why do you keep challenging me?" He whispered and in the next moment, he pulled down my dress from the right shoulder a bit and bit into my skin, making me gasp.
It wasn’t a strong bite that would draw blood or mark me, but it would surely leave a mark with the way he was sucking my skin.
My firsts clenched on my abdomen as he held my hands between his with his left hand, his abdomen pressing me from behind sensually.
"You are mine, Mitsuki. Here, I marked you temporarily. However, if you don’t stop going against me, I won’t shy away from making it permanent," he said, making me boil with anger.
How can he act like he was my master or something?
I turned around to look at him and give him a piece of mind when he evened my dress, and I heard something I never thought I would.
"Alpha Maverick, I think you should keep your distance from her,"
It was Carl.
He probably saw Shadow dancing with me and -
Wait. What did he say? Alpha what?
