Chapter 366: Giving birth

THIRD PERSON’S POV

After a few months ~~

Maverick wiped Valencia’s hands as she looked at Alfonso in pure anger.

"Maverick, you have to believe me. I didn’t do anything at all. She was the one who wanted to train. I was just stopping her. Heck, she even grabbed a sword. Don’t believe her innocent eyes. She dropped the sword and soiled her hands as soon as she felt your presence," Alfonso complained like a kid being wronged.

Maverick sighed and kept wiping the soil from Valencia’s hand. She was heavily pregnant, and he didn’t want to trouble her.

"Is it okay?" He asked, ignoring his brother.

"Mmm. Thank you. Can you warm some milk for me?" Valencia acted docile, and Maverick felt his lips twitch at her innocent act.

"Sure," He stood from his place and shook his head at his brother.

’Maverick, are you seriously believing in your cunning wife?’ Alfonso asked through the mind link.

’I know you are speaking the truth, brother. This isn’t the time Valencia snuck out of the house to train. I understand that she gets bored and wants to do something or the other. I don’t blame you. It’s just, faced with her innocent expression, I can’t bear to scold her,’ Maverick confessed.

Alfonso glared at Valencia, who flared her tongue to him, making his glare harden.

"Valencia, I am Maverick’s elder brother. Show me some respect, for god’s sake," Alfonso grumbled while he sat to peel and cut an apple for her.

"What respect? I always treated you like my friend," Valencia said. The guy rolled his eyes and stopped talking to her about the matter.

"Fine. Now come and eat this," Alfonso called her.

Valencia nodded and sat on the dining table before turning to Maverick.

"Did Axile call you? He called me earlier and said they have looked for a capable man for Dilbar and wanted to fix the engagement," Valencia said to Maverick.

He placed the glass of milk on the table and sat beside her, tucking the strand of her hair behind her ears.

"What about them? If they want to fix the engagement, they can go ahead. He doesn’t expect you to go there for such a minuscule thing, does he?" Maverick scowled as he reviewed the file on the table.

Valencia pressed her lips into a thin line.

"I want to go somewhere. It’s been so long since you–" She couldn’t even complete her sentence when Maverick denied her.

"Not happening," Maverick said.

Valencia clenched her fists around the fruit slice she held, bursting it.

"What did you say?" She asked.

Maverick looked into her eyes sternly.

He was already overlooking too many things, but he wasn’t going to relent about this.

"You heard me. You are not going anywhere," Maverick said, and Valencia stood from her place.

She grabbed an empty plate and threw it on the ground.

"Why are you trying to control me?! I am perfectly fine. I..." Valencia gasped, her eyes brimming with tears.

Maverick looked at her from the corner of his eyes and sighed.

"You can’t make use of the babies and pain to get things done your way again, Baby. I know your tricks now. You acted like this last time, too," Maverick said.

However, when he saw her leaning forward and a scream leaving her mouth, he did not waste a second in standing and holding her.

Concern appeared on his and Alfonso’s face.

"My water broke," Valencia said.

"Maverick, she is asking for water. Quickly, help her drink it," Alfonso grabbed the glass of water and handed it to Maverick.

Seeing the glass of water, Valencia smacked Alfonso’s hand, making the glass fall to some distance and the water splashing all over.

"I am about to give birth, you moron," Valencia gritted her teeth.

The men finally realized which water she was talking about, and Alfonso rushed out to call Sarah.

Maverick took Valencia to their room as she screamed in pain.

Soon, the entire pack was informed that Luna was about to give birth. They gathered outside the house of their alpha while Sarah rushed inside, straight to their room.

"Alpha, please step aside," Sarah said before ordering Lovely and Charlotte to prepare a tub of water, wash clothes, and clean clips and scissors.

"Is she going to give birth?" Maverick asked, feeling nervous.

"No. I am about to poop massively, and they are asking for clothes to clean the mess I am about to make, you stupid. Of course, I am giving birth," Valencia screamed, her screams reaching out of the window, and the pack members chuckled at their alpha’s stupidity.

Being scolded by his wife like this, Maverick pouted before crossing his hands around his chest.

"I am telling our kids their mom called them poop while giving birth to them," Maverick said, and Valencia grabbed the pillow before throwing it at him, making him smile sheepishly.

"I am not letting you touch me again if you dare to do anything like that," Valencia threatened, and the man sighed.

He walked to the other side of the bed and sat close to her before holding her hand.

Reaper also stood from his place, whispering sweet nothings to Aurora and Valencia to tell them everything would be alright and that she was doing well.

Valencia screamed at the top of her lungs as her bones felt like they were breaking and reforming while giving birth.

She gave birth to her son and could barely look at his face when the pain increased again.

After pushing one last time, she screamed, tears streaming down the corner of her eyes as she gave birth to her baby girl.

It was a pair of twins.

"Congratulations, Luna," Sarah cut the umbilical cord before cleaning the baby and placing them near Valencia.

Valencia, who was barely conscious because of all the pain, turned to her left to look at the baby, a smile appearing on her face.

"Richard and Valerie," Maverick said, the names they had decided on as it contained a part of their names before kissing Valencia’s forehead.

"Thank you my love for giving me this beautiful gift," Maverick whispered and was about to kiss Valencia’s lips when Richard kicked his chin.

Valencia chuckled, wincing in pain.

"My baby boy is already protecting his mother from hooligans," Valencia said and Maverick pouted, smiling nonetheless.

"I love you," Maverick whispered, holding her hand before kissing his baby’s forehead.

After some time, once Valencia was feeling much better, he held Valerie in his hands while Valencia held Richard in her hands and stood with Lovely’s support.

"I want to see my nephew and niece," Alfonso walked inside the room once Sarah had permission that Valencia was decent.

"It only makes sense that their uncle sees their faces first," Alfonso said happily.

Maverick remembered how Alfonso had asked Valencia if she could show him the faces of her babies and his heart softened. He was really grateful for so many things, especially having his only family member with them and happy.

"Go greet the crowd," Alfonso said and they nodded.

Both of them walked to the balcony of their room where everyone was waiting for them to get the first glance of their future rulers.

"Valerie and Richard!" Maverick said the names and the crowd hollered in happiness.

Valencia smiled at Maverick, loving the scene before her as Maverick pulled her close in for a hug.

This was her complete family, something she yearned for her entire life. Valencia sighed.
