MAVERICK’S POV

"Why is our alpha holding the cat?"

"Is this cat important when he should be looking for Luna?"

"What’s going on? Why are we wasting our time here?"

"Is Alpha Maverick okay? Didn’t he say he had an urgent matter to attend? We thought it was something important,"

I could hear whispers around me, making me press my lips into a thin line.

’She seems so unfamiliar suddenly. Is it because of her ever-changing hormones?’ Reaper commented, and I walked out of the private room because I didn’t want to let her stay in this room that reeked of male hormones for even a second more.

I thanked them for assisting me, but they weren’t needed anymore. I apologized for leaving the meeting and promised to visit their pack once the royal ball was over.

Once Alpha Green’s men left, I was about to dismiss my team so we could spend some time together when Valencia walked into the shadows.

"I have some work for you," she said to my beta, who looked at me briefly, and I sighed.

We walked back into the private room before she asked them to close the doors and windows. She even requested Sean inform the manager not to allow any disturbance in our room.

Once she was set on everything, she sighed and looked at me.

"Why do you smell like a wild cat?" She asked.

I coughed, my ears turning red in embarrassment. I didn’t want her to know what I thought she was doing when she was absent.

’He was holding a cat before finding you. We called the alpha to help us find you because we thought you went somewhere; however, as soon as he came here and heard the manager talking, there was a cat in a VIP room, and he rushed there. I fell deep in thought.

Valencia pressed her lips.

It was clear she disagreed with the idea.
