Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 179: A council’s what?

Chapter 179: A council’s what?

VALENCIA’S POV

I was shaken up.

Was that even a word to describe what I was feeling? This was getting more dangerous, and the closer and more predatory he was becoming, the more I felt attracted to him.

There was just something about his aura; the way he touches me, claims me, makes me feel owned, everything screams for me to accept him and just sink my teeth in his neck.

Lost in my thoughts, I quickly wore my clothes, a blush rising to my cheeks when I realized how much Maverick controlled just now, or he would’ve ended up seeing me naked, making it embarrassing for both of us.

’I don’t think it would’ve been embarrassing for him or us. We would’ve spread these legs of ours, and he would’ve worshiped us as we deserve,’ Aurora said, burning my ears even more with her nasty words.

I looked at her with a heated gaze as she smirked back at me, making me sigh.

Knock! Knock!

Hearing the knocks on the door, I quickly evened my expression and walked to the door.

Dylan looked at me with quirked brows.

"Why does it smell like Alpha Maverick here?" He asked.

"I just got his text that he will come here to pick me up in an hour. Does that smell like Maverick?" I walked out casually before plopping on the couch in front of Uncle Jonathan, acting as cool and calm as possible not to give away that I was almost on the verge of banging that alpha in my room a few minutes earlier.

Jonathan looked at Dylan before looking at Carl, and I hated how they all shared a similar look.

"Can you ask him not to do so?" I asked them, and Jonathan was the first to sigh.

"If you don’t like him, you can tell him upfront. There’s no need to bring us in between when you end up in his arms." Uncle Jonathan’s words were quite precise, and heat crept up my neck.

He was too blunt. He needs to hesitate for real. And hearing his words, I didn’t need anyone to tell me someone leaked the information of what was going on in here to him.

"I have a few questions," I changed the topic, knowing it was useless.

"I heard," Uncle Jonathan said.

I smiled. I was sure the confident look on his face would change soon once I shot what I had in mind.

"Who are my parents?" I lifted my finger so he would not answer it.

"Let me rephrase it. Which pack did I belong to? Who are my parents? How the hell did I end up in the Hazel Moon pack? If you knew all about this, why did you allow me to get bullied, and most importantly, what else do you know about me that you have hidden from me so far?" I asked.

I ensured I asked every question precisely so they wouldn’t try to find any way around it; one of their habits since long ago was to hide things from me.

Uncle Jonathan took a desk breath before looking at Dylan.

"It looks like we can’t hide the truth from her anymore," he said, and a ray of hope ignited in my heart.

Finally, I was about to hear the truth about myself.

"I guess it’s about time I tell you the truth that I kept hidden for so long to keep you protected.

You belonged to the Phoenix Blood pack. Your mother was the only Luna of her time who took over the alpha’s position to rule the pack. Your father was my brother, the real heir to the position of the council head until he found your mother and went to the pack to live with her," Uncle Jonathan said.

To say I was surprised would be an understatement.

I had expected all kinds of answers but have yet to receive the one he offered me.

So I was related to the council, and Dylan and Carl were my cousins.

I didn’t say anything; I kept looking at him to discover all the truths.

"So, about this curse... Is it on me because of my mother or my father?" I asked.

Jonathan took a deep breath before shaking his head.

"None of them. The curse is on you because of your grandmother. You... You are special, my sweetheart. I didn’t want to tell you all this because I never wanted you to blame yourself for anything," Jonathan said.

I took a deep breath.

"Okay. What more?" I asked.

Jonathan pressed his lips into a thin line.

"The night your pack was destroyed, some people wanted you. Your presence is needed for some kind of awakening of a different species that can bring havoc to the world, and strangely, you are the only one who can kill them too, i.e., if the prophecy works well," Jonathan said.

I scoffed. I felt like laughing at myself.

As if all these things weren’t enough, there was a prophecy, too.

"And what about the part where I was thrown into the Hazel Moon pack?" I asked.

"It was your mother’s choice. Your adoptive mother was also expecting a child at that time. He was still born, and thus, when you were sent to the pack, the beta accepted you to protect his wife from the pain," Jonathan said.

I nodded at him.

It was useless to ask them about the bullying because I was somehow responsible. I used to hide the bullying in hopes that I would be loved.

Parents or no parents, you feel sympathy for even an animal you raised for 14 years, but they couldn’t feel anything for me. And the gullible me thought we would be loved and accepted.

I looked at Jonathan before nodding at him. This much information was enough for a day, and I stood from my place.

"Is there anything else you would like to share?" I asked, but when they said nothing, I went to my room to pack my bags.

Honestly, I thought I would feel sad or some kind of emotion after finding out the truth, but my mind was strangely calm.

’Are you okay?’ Aurora asked, and I shrugged.

’I don’t have any reason not to be okay. It’s a good thing I know my pack’s name. Now, I hope to find my people. I am happy that I was supposed to be an alpha wolf, too. You will transform one day, won’t you?’ I asked Aurora, who nodded, making me smile.

"That’s great. I can’t wait to meet you," I said.

Once my stuff was packed, I walked out simultaneously; a guy named Khalid walked at the door to pick me up because Alpha Maverick was busy with some stuff.

I dialed Maverick’s number to confirm if he indeed sent a guy like that, and once he confirmed it, I nodded at the guy.

I wasn’t going to take any chances anymore. With so many rogues hunting me, trying to kill me, I want to be cautious of a few things here and there.

"Are you leaving?" Dylan asked me, holding my hand, and I chuckled at him.

"Don’t act like you are my husband and have found out I am cheating on you, and you can’t do anything to stop me. I am going because I lost a bet," I said, and Dylan sighed.

I could see a hint of some foreign emotion swirling in his eyes.

I won’t lie. Though I didn’t feel any solid romantic feelings toward him, he was my crush, too. So hearing he was my brother was quite funny to me.

I needed some time alone and something to distract me from the world, and Maverick looked like a good escape who would definitely help me do that. I smiled at the thought.

I sat inside the car with the guy before looking at the trio one last time.

It was not too far, just a twenty-minute journey, which was an added benefit of wanting to meet these people. Besides, Maverick would be busy with the alphas meeting.

This was an excellent opportunity for me to run off to the coral regions and learn about the curse in depth because these Lycans knew more than Jonathan, and I was ready to find my people and my true self.

And now that I wasn’t exactly a proper rogue, I was ready to accept Maverick and show him what he was getting into.

A smile appeared on my lips at the thought.

Seeing the car moving in another direction, I looked at the guy with a surprised look.

Was Maverick planning some kind of surprise for me? Was that why he didn’t come and send his men?

I looked out the window, scrunching my nose, when I smelled a weird floral scent that made me hazy.

"Hey, can you turn down this scent? It’s making me feel heavy," I said, noticing that the man who came to take me was now wearing a mask.

Wait. Why was he...

Realization dawned upon me.

"Who are you?" I asked, lunging forward to grab the man’s neck, wanting to make him sway his car and stop. To my surprise, I heard a spring going off before I felt a weird pricking sensation in my neck.

What the hell? That was the last thought before I saw dark spots in my vision.
