Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 150: A little about curse
Chapter 150: A little about curse
THIRD PERSON’S POV
As soon as Maverick reached the outside of the room where Valencia was lying on the hospital bed, looking so weak because of the loss of blood, his heart was broken into thousands of shards.
No matter what happened to her or how anyone talked to her, he never saw any sadness or weakness on her face. She was always smiling and trying to be happy.
Thus, seeing her like this with IV in her hand, he took a deep breath before entering the room, feeling remorseful for not being able to protect her.
Maybe if he had followed her immediately after he received her message, he would’ve been able to save her. Or if he hadn’t stood from the table in the first place and gone with her, he would’ve been able to protect her.
She was so prone to accidents that it was starting to scare him.
He already lost his family and everyone he once loved in an attack. Seeing their dead bodies covered in blood was his biggest nightmare coming true. He didn’t know if he had the capacity to lose someone else, someone who was becoming a vital part of his life and a protagonist in his story.
Maverick walked to Valencia and sat beside her. There was a faint smell of another man in the room, but due to chemicals induced by the smell, it was hard to describe if the person was even a werewolf in the first place.
That wasn’t important at the moment. If anyone was threatening, he would deal with them later. What he was happy about was that she was still breathing and fine.
He sat there, holding her hand between his hands as he kissed the back of it.
"She will be alright. She is a strong girl," Dylan, who saw the man, who was the strongest, looking like this, said.
Maverick shook his head.
"It’s not about her getting better or not. It’s about why she keeps getting into trouble. You heard the hospital staff. It was a collision. She wasn’t at fault. The other person wasn’t at fault either because both of them got hurt. But why was it her?" Maverick asked.
Dylan, who knew the answer to this question, looked down at his feet, unsure of how to tell him what was going on.
It was a part of the curse that was thrown on her even before she was conceived by her mother.
The curse was that she wouldn’t be able to live peacefully. That the grim reaper would be her friend, always tailing around her, ready to take her life and every step of her life would be full of miseries. That even happiness would be bestowed on her on a plate of thorns and bones.
He sighed and took a deep shaky breath.
It was one of the main reasons he didn’t want her to come here. There were two reasons.
First, he didn’t want her to know anything about the curse, because he suspected she knew the Lycans would know about her. And second, when the Lycans would confirm that she was the girl, they would ...
"What are you thinking about? Is there something about her that I should know?" Maverick asked and Dylan shook his head.
"There’s nothing like that. Don’t worry. She is just a trouble magnet. We shall take her back to the pack as soon as possible," Dylan said.
Maverick looked at the unconscious girl before nodding his head.
He was right. They needed to take her away from here, to a place where he would be able to appoint a team to look after her and it was definitely not here.
"I guess," Maverick said, placing her hand on his forehead.
Please be alright soon, Mitsuki. Maverick whispered.
"You don’t get it, Maverick. We need to take her back," Dylan said and Maverick, who had his eyes closed, opened his eyes and looked at Dylan in surprise.
"You mean- " He let the sentence trail and when the man nodded his head, Maverick gazed at the girl before nodding his head.
This was the right decision.
To do this, they needed to make a few arrangements, and most importantly talk to the Lycans who probably were still looking forward to meeting with her, and explain to them why it was necessary and why they needed to cooperate with them.
At the same time, the angels who were asked to look at what the ancient wolf and her human counterpart were doing, looked at the situation, with no expressions on their faces.
"You know you could’ve saved the accident," one of the angels said as they sat around the large globe while playing angel cards for fun.
"I could. But could I go against destiny? Besides, how do you know I wasn’t the one who arranged it?" The other angel asked and the rest of them looked at her with surprise.
"You did? Why would you do that?" One of them asked.
"Well, it was fun. I was just fast-forwarding things. Besides, it should be alright as long as she is not dead, right?" The angel asked before she stood from her place and walked away to the window, the smile on her face immediately dropping and tears brimming her eyes.
She didn’t want to do that either. But could she really fight off the destiny of the curse? They were mere followers of the fate written by the moon goddess that they needed to accomplish.
There was no room for feelings when it came to this.
No matter whether you liked it or not. If the cards from the moon goddess and the higher deity come to you and they say you have to do something, you can’t go against it.
The angel extended her hand in front of her, looking at the snowflakes that resembled her unshed tears, the tears she wasn’t allowed to let escape from her eyes.
With a sigh, she looked down at the girl who was in so much pain but unconscious and couldn’t help but feel that she needed to do something for her.
Probably add a hint of happiness in her life that she won’t have to struggle for.
