Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 122: He slept hugging me?

Chapter 122: He slept hugging me?

VALENCIA’S POV

What was going on here seriously?

I looked to my left where Alina was sitting, holding my left hand, and then I turned my head to the right where Alpha Maverick was sitting holding my right hand.

"Seriously, guys?" I asked them.

I thought it was just them playing around in front of that police station, but who would’ve thought they were going to continue this even after coming from there?

"Can you guys stop it? I had a rough night already. Don’t add more to my plate," I said to both of them.

However, it was as if they turned deaf ears towards this particular topic, none of them let go of my hand, and I looked at Carl for any help, but he just looked at me as if he was already having a tough time controlling his anger and I sighed.

No help from him for sure.

"So what exactly happened?" Carl asked and I pulled out my phone, jerking the hand that Maverick was holding before dialing Dylan’s number, knowing all too well he must be worried sick.

As soon as the call connected, I pulled my hand out of Alina’s hold, glaring at her so she could know I wasn’t joking this time and she pouted her lips, nodding her head in understanding.

"So you are out and free now, sweetheart," Dylan stated and I hummed.

"It’s not my fault this time," I said before telling them about everything related to the incident.

I was riding back to my apartment when suddenly those boys started to chase us, and it was probably related to Alina looking so ethereal in that black satin dress and them thinking they would get someone to have fun for the night.

At that time I had thought that they would stop following us if I took another turn towards the forest and increased my speed, but to no avail did they stop following us.

Left with no choice, afraid they would try to hurt Alina and it would result in her releasing her energy because she didn’t have that kind of control over her powers because of the lack of training in her teenage years that she should be taking, I had to stop the bike after dropping Alina to a shady place.

I fought those rogue gang members and it was at the same time I had called Aiden, who called the police to the area to ensure things don’t go too south.

Once I was done telling him everything, Dylan took a deep breath.

"Must you stay there where I can’t take care of you? Why don’t you return to the council? What is lacking here? I will talk to Mason and others for you. All you have to say is yes," Dylan said, and I looked at my hands, my gaze shifting to Alpha Maverick for some unknown reason.

It was clear he could hear what Dylan said and I licked my bottom lip.

Should I take up Dylan’s offer? It was indeed true that I was getting into more trouble from the moment my identity was exposed here.

"I will think about it," I said, and Dylan hummed, while Maverick took a deep breath, clearly dissatisfied with my answer.

"So this girl you are talking about, who is she? Do I know her?" Dylan asked and I bit the inside of my cheeks.

Well, how should I tell him this with everyone in the room?

"I can’t go into much detail, but...you can expect a visit from the witches soon," I whispered the last part, knowing all too well what was coming next.

"Witches?!! Did I hear it right?" Dylan asked, the sound of something falling echoing from the other side.

I looked at Carl, who looked equally surprised while Alpha Maverick looked at me with piqued interest.

"Dad! Dad! Come here! This brat is creating trouble again. Talk to her. Seriously, she is going out of control. Look at what she did this time,"

I could hear Dylan shouting on the other side, and a blush crept up my neck when I was being called a brat after such a long time.

It made me realize how I keep getting on these people’s nerves.

I heard the sound of someone rushing from the other side, and it wasn’t long before the phone was passed to one man I knew they knew could handle me better.

"My baby, what’s the matter?" It was the council head, and I pouted, walking some distance from everyone, even though I knew they still could hear me very well.

"Dad, I got into some trouble," I whispered as softly as I could.

"Dad? Did you call him Dad? Dad, you can’t get into her traps again. She is obviously using this trick so that you won’t scold her," Dylan was shouting from the other side.

"I am sorry," I whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind my ears and was about to speak more when someone held my hand and pulled me close, making me widen my eyes as he pushed me into the room while I was still talking, closing the door behind me.

"Alpha Maverick-" I looked at him with wide eyes, unsure of what this man was trying to do.

"It’s okay, baby. Now tell me what exactly happened so that we can devise a plan to tackle the witches," Jonathan asked, and I looked into the man’s eyes who sighed and pulled me to the bed.

He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled me close, placing his head on my abdomen, making my heart skip a beat.

It was a complete contrast to his usual rowdy behavior so it was really unexpected. This... Why was he acting so vulnerable?

"Well, the thing is, I saved a girl’s life a few months ago. You know I have a little habit of roaming around the forests whenever I visit a new place. It was the same at that time too. She was drowning in water because she fell accidentally and didn’t know how to swim. At that time I didn’t know what she was, I just saved her. However, it was after that I realized she wasn’t a normal werewolf," I said, telling him the truth and hiding it at the same time.

"So what is she? Why are the witches behind her?" Jonathan asked, and I sighed, moving my hand on Maverick’s hair as I played with it, making him tighten his hold on me.

"She might have accidentally burnt a witch because they were bullying her," I said.

The sound of Jonathan taking a deep breath was too obvious.

I smiled, clearly knowing what must be going through his head.

"So you found someone just like yourself?" He asked, and I blushed at his insinuation.

"Mmm," I said and he chuckled.

"Okay. We will handle it. I don’t know how we will do it at the moment. Just do me a favor. Don’t interact with those witches alone or do anything to provoke them further. You can do that, right?" He asked and I hummed.

"Yes, Dad," I whispered and Dylan scoffed on the other side once again.

"Dad, this is not fair. Look at you acting so whipped just because she called you Dad. I call you that all the time but you never let me have any leeway," Dylan complained and I grinned.

"Well, who is his favorite child?" I asked and Dylan scoffed.

"It is obviously you,"

"And who is your favorite person?" I asked, and he scoffed.

"Obviously, you," he said, more like groaning, probably annoyed at himself and I chuckled.

After talking for a few more minutes, I ended the call, my gaze finally landing on the alpha who was hugging me.

I moved my hand to remove his hands and asked him what he was doing.

However, before I could do that, I couldn’t help but freeze in my place.

Was he really asleep? I raised my brows at his calm beating heart.

He was having a tough night too and I made it worse for him.

I gently helped him on the bed, trying my best to not move too much before placing the duvet on him.

I looked at the gentle look on his face before sighing.

"Sleep tight," I whispered to him before kissing his forehead and leaving the room.
