Chapter 214: Your Own Home
I wasn’t quite sure what was going on. I had found my bedroom, a perfect princess palace if I had ever seen one, fallen asleep, and suddenly, the house was trying to wake me up.
Feeling the worry coming from the very floorboards, I tried my best to soothe it, even as I tried to figure out what was going on.
When I came downstairs, it was just in time to see the door open and all my men coming in. The fact that they hadn’t been alone made me a bit cranky.
I had just literally just kicked a few hundred humans out of this place not four hours ago, and now they were bringing in more? Sure, we could use them as feed for the cuties, but I didn’t want a crap ton of people in my space.
"You look like you are taking this all calmly," I sighed turning my attention to the only man who I would definitely call a silver fox. He was the oldest of the newcomers, but even with his salt-and-pepper hair and white beard, his muscles had muscles.
Clearly, I had a thing for muscles.
Turning to look at my men, I wondered if any of them had such definition. Even under the cut, I could count the eight-pack on the silver fox.
"Do you all have those abs?" I asked, cocking my head to the side as I continued to study the only man in this room who wasn’t stressed for some reason or another.
"Hattie," murmured Beau as he pulled me away from the man. "If you want to look at abs, you can look at mine all you want. Hell, you can even touch them. But stay away from outsiders? You don’t know where they have been."
Pulling out a lollypop, I shrugged my shoulders and slipped away from Beau, going back to the man.
"Sorry if I was rude," I smile up at him, my best innocent face possible. "You are just really hot."
The man chuckled softly as he crouched down onto one knee as he laid his hand on my head. Waiting for the creepy feeling to wash over me, I was surprised when I felt myself letting out a long sigh.
"And you, Sweetness, are too young for me," he replied. "How about you wait a couple of years and then try that again?"
Now, it was my turn to laugh. "I could say the same," I purred at him with a wink. However, the sight of the red seedling in his heart made me curious. The man really was too sweet to be a wrath...
Unless...
"Why are you so calm?" I asked again, pulling the lollypop out of my mouth. "And please be honest. I don’t like it when people lie to me."
"Well, Sweetness," said the man as he stared into my eyes. While his twinkled with sincerity, there were clearly a few ghosts in them as well. "I figured that if the Devil wanted me to come home, I can only obey."
"You obey the Devil?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. When one of the other strangers tried to speak, I held up a single finger, silencing him.
"We all obey the Devil," replied the man. "Especially in this new world."
"I like you," I announced, spinning around to look at Dante and Chang Xuefeng. "I’m keeping him. He is mine; he said it himself." Looking over my shoulder, I studied the man once more. "And there is no take-back, so I hope you know what you promised me."
Looking at the wall, I let out a tired sigh. "I’m hungry, and Daddy is going to yell if I keep eating candy. Can you make all of us dinner? Then we’ll need room for everyone. You can put—" Tuning around, I looked at the silver fox. "What’s your name?"
"My name is Gerard Blanchard, but everyone calls me The Judge."
"Good," I nodded before turning back to the house. "You can put The Judge in our wing. The others as far away as possible until they prove themselves."
There was a ripple of ascent coming from the house, and I couldn’t help but smile.
"Sweetness," called out The Judge just as I started walking away.
"Yeah?" I replied, spinning around to look at him. "If you need anything, just let the house know. He’ll get it for you."
"It’s not that," smiled the man as he looked at the rest of his MCs. "I was just wondering if I could stay with my friends instead of your wing? I don’t want to be away from them."
That had me pausing. "Do you not trust me?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. "Is that why you want to stay with them instead of me? Or is it because you don’t like me? Cause I really don’t need any of you."
By the time I was done speaking, I was ready to tear all the men apart, and the house could feel my intention. The floorboards under their feet rippled, and not even Dante and them were spared from my wrath.
"Is that it? Am I that easy to toss aside after you already said that you were one of mine?!"
"Mon Ange," growled Pride as he spoke from Dante’s body. "That is not it at all. He is not rejecting you. He is not that big of a fool to reject you."
"Really?" I sneered at him. "Cause that is what it feels like."
"Not at all, Pudding Pop," chimed in Gluttony as he tried to step forward. However, with the house protecting me like it was, neither demon was getting close to me.
"It’s kind of like us. Would you like someone to decide to take Tank or Daddy away from us simply because they liked him and not us?" pressed Gluttony, and while I could see where he was going with everything, all I could process was that someone was trying to take Tank and Daddy from me.
"No one is touching Tank and Daddy!" I bellowed, causing the entire house to shake. The men fell around me as Chang Xuefeng tried to reach out.
"No one is taking me," he bellowed back. "If you are that upset, kill them all. Every last one of them. No one is allowed to make you upset in your own home."
