Chapter 173: Picking Your Battles

"And here was me thinking that we were in a rush to get to my little Raven," sighed Wrath as he leaned against Greed.

The two of them were standing off to the side as Envy, Lust, and Sloth were tearing apart a new group of survivors. Well, maybe tearing apart was not the exact wording that Greed should be using, but he also had no idea how to explain the scene in front of him.

"You are the only one of us at full powers," reminded Greed, absentmindedly as the two demons cocked their heads to the side, wondering just how many cocks could go into a single hole. Wrath shuddered before turning to another group. "The rest of us need to top up."

Yeah, that was the benefit of being on Earth, they were able to feed themselves and didn’t need to go through Hattie to become stronger.

Which was probably why they were looking at a group of about twenty people sectioned off between napping, fucking, and watching those fucking. Lust was having a field day, as the inhibitions of the humans started to dissipate the longer he was around them.

At first, the humans tried to fight back; but they were quickly subdued.

The moment Lust let out a wave of desire, the weapons were dropped... and then the clothes. Not to be outdone, Envy let out a low snarl and those people who hadn’t jumped on each other were stuck watching the show in front of them. The more they desired to be on the giving or receiving end of the orgy, the more they were able to feed both demons.

It was only those who wanted to sleep after coming so many times ended up feeding Sloth.

Letting out a huge yawn, Sloth slowly made his way back to his other two brothers. "They aren’t going to stop until the humans drop dead," he pointed out as Lust’s eyes started to sparkle as one of the women let out a scream so loud it was hard to know if it was from pleasure or pain.

Then again, with Lust, pain could easily be pleasure and pleasure could easily be pain...

"That’s fine," grunted Greed as he fed from those wanting more. "They can stay here as long as they want. They just can’t bitch when they don’t get the treasure at the end of the rainbow."

As soon as he finished speaking, the rain that had been pouring down on everyone let up, and the sun’s light poked through the clouds.

"Someone made a wish," chuckled Envy as he strolled over to his brothers. Now, only Lust was still focusing on getting enough to ’eat’.

Greed hummed as he stared off to the north. "Interesting," he murmured, narrowing his eyes as if he could see everything in front of him. "That is going to pose a problem."

"What is?" purred Lust as he sauntered over, finally full enough. As soon as his attention was no longer on the group of people, his powers receded, giving the humans a moment of clarity.

There were screams of rage and anger before someone ate his gun, no longer wanting to live with what had been done.

"Pity," shrugged Lust, looking over his shoulder. The sounds of more guns rapidly firing wasn’t of any concern to the Sins as one after another, the humans dropped dead. "Humans have become a lot more flexible since the last time I walked the Earth."

"That’s not all they’ve become," chuckled Envy. "It’s like a full on feast for us... never satisfied with what they have, always wanting more, always desiring what they can’t have... I simply have to breathe and I can feel all their energies coming into me."

Greed grunted and started walking north, stepping over the bodies of the dead men in front of him. "If that is the case, then we won’t need to stop from here on out, now will we?" he sneered, wrinkling his nose at the stench.

Clearly, the most basic of hygiene have gone out the window as soon as the apocalypse came because the smell coming off the bodies was enough to make his meat sack’s eyes water.

It really was too bad that they couldn’t just ’jump’ and be where they wanted to be. It would have saved so much time and energy, but with human bodies came certain human limitations... and bending space and time was one of those limitations.

Now, if they were willing to give up these bodies and find ones closer to where Greed knew Hattie was, then that was a different story.

However, he happened to like his meat sack and wasn’t willing to break in a whole new one.

Thus... walking.

Slow.

Painful.

Walking.

"Is this place always this hot?" asked Envy, looking around at the trees as a snake slithered across the road in front of him. "Ooh, is that poisonous? That could be fun! Ooh, I love the humidity! And what is that thing trying to suck my blood? Is it a mini vampire? That might be fun. Oh look, it disappeared. Must be another wish. But who wouldn’t want mini vampires around?"

Stuck deep in the recesses of Envy’s mind as the demon controlled the body, Salvatore let out a long sigh of frustration. In the space of three minutes, the demon had said more words than he had in the past two years... and it was exhausting.

’Oh, get over it,’ chuckled Envy as he heard Salvatore’s thoughts. ’The last time we were here, the world looked nothing like it does now. Back then, there was nothing but deserts as far as the eye could see and maybe a handful of humans. That was before the war broke out and we were thrown into the Realm of Hell. Let me get it all out now before I meet our woman in person. Then I’ll let you take over more. Deal?’

"Nope," replied Salvatore with a smirk on his face as he closed his eyes. His Star told them to never made a wish or a deal that easily because there was always a sacrifice... and he wasn’t about to sacrifice any time with his woman.

When it came to dealing with humans or demons, it was all about picking your battles. And now, Envy would owe him one.
