Chapter 171: A Roommate From Hell

Chapter 171: A Roommate From Hell

Gluttony couldn’t hold back his laughter as the fat pig in front of him dropped to the floor so fast he ended up breaking his own nose. "That’s gotta hurt," he continued to chuckle as the man started to choke on his own blood.

"What’s wrong with him?" asked Hattie, her head still resting on his shoulder as the two of them continued to stare at the meat sack.

"How should I know? Do I look like a doctor?" gasped Gluttony, and he gently booped Hattie’s nose. "Come on, we’ll let him die in peace. Why don’t you show me around a bit?"

"Yes, and he can’t," sighed Hattie; however, her answers made absolutely no sense to Gluttony.

"I’m sorry, Pudding Pop, could you try to say that again?" he asked, cocking his head to the side as he looked at his treasure. The feeling of her in his arms was something that he couldn’t explain, even if he had a thousand words to describe it.

The only thing he could even remotely find similar was when he had found his soul weapon.

Was that it? Was this delicate little creature a part of his soul? Was that why she felt like she belonged in his arms? Like she was made just for him?

"Yes, you do look like a doctor," sighed his meat sack as he pushed forward until he was sharing the same eyes as Gluttony. "I am a doctor, and since you are in my body, that makes you one, too. Get used to it."

"I’m a doctor?!?" sneered Gluttony, panicking a bit. He didn’t sign up for that type of bullshit. He was much more likely to try to kill someone than save them. Was this supposed to be some type of cosmic joke? Might as well just kill his meat sack now and find another less...

Saintly.

"Think of it this way," purred Beau as the two of them stared down at the man on the floor by their feet. "You are the only one who can help Sugar Bear if she gets sick or hurt. And since she is a human..."

"Yes!" hissed Gluttony soft enough so that his Pudding Pop, who seemed to have fallen asleep in his arms, didn’t react. "Okay. I’ll keep you then."

"How kind of you," sneered Beau in response. However, this wasn’t all that bad. He could still keep Lucinda and not have to worry about anything. It was, so far, the best of both worlds. "Now, crouch down so I can see what is wrong with the dead man."

"Dead man?" replied Gluttony, moving the body so that it was closer to the man but still keeping Hattie away from him.

"Hmmm," hummed Beau. "I didn’t like how he was treating Lucinda."

"Who the fuck is Lucinda?" snarled Gluttony, not liking the fact that his meat sack seemed to prefer another woman. Couldn’t he see just how perfect his Pudding Pop was? Oh well, even if he couldn’t, there would be no one else for this body other than her, so he could either deal with it or fuck off to Hell.

"The one you are currently holding," sighed Beau, fighting hard not to roll his eyes. Seriously, when he offered up his body for the demon to possess, he had thought things would be a bit different... not so... roommate-y.

"That’s Hattie," replied Gluttony as he shook his head.

"The Governor called her Lucinda," countered Beau as he stood up. Kind of like sharing a dorm room in university; his body really wasn’t big enough for both souls to stay in. And holy fuck did the demon ever like to talk. Seriously, would it kill him to shut up and let him take control for a while?

"Her name is Hattie LaRue," replied Gluttony in a moment of seriousness. "You will not call her by any other name other than Hattie or Pudding Pop. Have I made myself clear?"

Beau let out a snort as he tried to take control, only to be thrown back into the recesses of his own mind. "Sugar Bear," he replied as the bars trying to keep him contained started to rise a bit. "I call her Sugar Bear... or Ma Faim, I haven’t figured out which one I like better."

"Ma Faim?" asked Gluttony as he walked over the body and out of the small room. Looking around at the floor to ceiling windows, he continued toward them, wanting to see what the world looked like.

It had been eons since the last time he had stepped foot in this realm, and a lot had changed since then.

"Roughly translates to My Hunger," shrugged Beau, and Gluttony stopped trying to fight him for dominance. Finally, someone who understood.

"I approve of that," he muttered, his eyes squinting as he took in all the sights outside. "But give me some more time with her. I..."

"No worries," agreed Beau when Gluttony trailed off. Since he could feel the same thing the demon was, he understood what he wanted to say, even if he couldn’t. "Just let me take control if someone else shows up. We need to maintain my cover."

"Cover?" blinked Gluttony as he continued to be overwhelmed by the buildings and greenery he was seeing outside. It stretched on for as far as the eyes could see. The grey clouds were evaporating, leaving behind bright blue skies as the sun finally poked its head out.

"We’re a ’Healer,’ but I don’t actually heal. It’s a whole thing," shrugged Beau as he, too, took the time to marvel over the wonders outside the window... wonders he had overlooked all his life.

"I don’t care what you were," shrugged Gluttony as he forced himself away from the windows and over to the couch. "Now you are the Sin Gluttony. If anyone crosses you, they will understand just why demons used to be so feared."

Beau paused, taking in those words. That was right... he was now one of the Seven Deadly Sins... the only problem was that he had no idea what that entailed.
