Chapter 98: For my love
Justin laughed, eyes wild. "See this asshole? Even your own people are protecting me now. What can you even do, huh?"
His mocking tone cut through the battlefield like a blade.
But he didn’t notice the change in Nancy. Her trembling fingers finally slipped free from the silk knot around her wrist. While Justin reveled in his delusions, she moved—quickly. With a sudden surge of desperation, she pushed him back with all her strength.
"What the hell?!" Justin staggered, his arm slipping off her shoulder. His grip loosened—she was free.
Nancy stumbled away, eyes wide and frantic. But Justin turned, fury flaring in his voice. "Come here, you bitch—"
Before he could finish, Tyson was already there—his figure a blur of fury. His sword was raised in a lethal arc, and his intentions were unmistakable.
He was going to behead him.
Justin’s eyes widened Just then—BANG!
A bright explosion of light burst through the air. Tim fired a shot. Tyson’s body jolted as the impact struck his chest plate, pushing him back mid-swing. The strike wasn’t fatal, but it was enough to disrupt his momentum.
Sparks flew as the sword scraped the ground instead of flesh.
"Stand down, Tyson!" Tim shouted, voice raised "I don’t want to fight you... but I will if I must."
The air crackled with tension as Tyson’s eyes glared beneath his helmet, fixed on his comrade—one of his own—who had just stopped him from ending it.
Justin stumbled back, chest heaving. "Do you seriously think you can kill me?" he spat, eyes darting wildly. "This whole city will burn down if you dare, asshole!"
One of the remaining Rogues seized him by the arm, pulling him away in a panic. The man had no illusions—he had seen that sword aimed at Justin’s neck just moments ago. Had it not been for that Ranger, Justin might already be dead.
"Sir," the Rogue hissed. "Just surrender already—before you get us all killed."
But Justin shoved him off. "I won’t!" he screamed. "I’ll kill him—and then I’ll break her so badly she’ll never even look at another man again!"
That was it. Tyson had barely been holding himself back, fighting the storm raging inside, calming slowly. But that sentence? His grip on his sword tightened, and something primal overtook him.
"Fuck it," he muttered, stepping forward with a chilling calm. "You’re going to die today."
The air shifted. Rangers sprang into action, a dozen bodies working to contain one.
Some lunged into close combat, while others fired stun blasts from a distance. However, Tyson was already moving—fluid, brutal, unstoppable.
It was now One vs. all.
He spun through the chaos, his blade clashing against both metal and air. Every parry, every kick, every dodge—measured yet relentless.
He wasn’t trying to win.
He wasn’t trying to survive.
He was trying to reach Justin.
"This is not your father’s domain, bitch," Tyson growled mid-dash as two Rangers crashed into the dirt beside him."...This is my kingdom."
And in his kingdom—there was no mercy for monsters.
Ken moved in, voice low but firm, trying to reach the storm inside Tyson. "Sergeant, listen to me—this isn’t the way. You have to stop—"
But Tyson wasn’t listening. His eyes were wild, locked on Justin like a beast that had tasted blood.
Lara, meanwhile, rushed to Nancy to help her stand. Her hands were gentle, but her gaze remained fixed on Tyson. She had never seen anything like it—not on the battlefield.
A man who was willing to turn his sword against whole world just for a woman he loved.
"You okay?" Lara whispered, steadying Nancy’s trembling body.
Nancy nodded weakly, tears still lining her cheeks. But her eyes, too, were on Tyson now. He’s doing this for me...
Suddenly, with a heavy clunk—metallic chains shot from the surrounding drones, pinning Tyson down from all sides. They wrapped around his metallic limbs and torso, forcing him into one place.
"Restrain him! Now!" a Ranger shouted.
Dozens of hands gripped the chains, pulling with all their strength. But Tyson— He roared like a caged beast. He pulled and yanked, dragging Rangers along with him like ragdolls.
Rangers stumbled over one another while some used their metal suits to dig their feet into the ground for better footing as they attempted to hold him in place.
But with every yank and every growl, it was clear— Tyson wasn’t finished yet. He was rage incarnate.
"Look at him," Justin sneered, his voice dripping with cruel amusement. "Mindless beast. I like it. Cry more"
Amidst the chaos, Nancy’s voice pierced through the tension—faint, desperate. "T-Tyson..." she called, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please stop. He’s not worth it. Please—I beg you..."
Ken stepped closer, lowering his stance to avoid provoking Tyson further. "Look, Tyson," he said calmly, pointing toward her. "Nancy is safe. She is calling out to you."
Just behind, Tim steadied his blaster, ready to unleash it. "Talk him down," he muttered. "Or I will."
Tyson’s Meta-bot blinked on his chest, pulsing softly—like a heartbeat, like a reminder. His breath came in hard, raw gusts. His eyes, still locked in rage, shifted.
Nancy.
Standing there, her eyes wet but smiling. "I’m okay," she said gently, wiping the tears from her cheeks. "Please... calm down. He’s just trying to rile you up. He’s already lost."
For a long second, the battlefield held its breath.
Tyson’s shoulders dropped, and his grip on the sword loosened. The blade dissolved into his armor. He closed his eyes briefly as she slowly made her way to the shackled Ranger.
Around him, the ragers kept hold of the chains, unsure what to do next. It was already hard to contain him in one place, and they feared that if he began again, there would be no stopping him.
Nancy stepped forward, tears streaming as she tried to remove the tight shackle on his armor. "Release him... please."
Tyson’s helmet dissolved back into his Meta-bot, leaving his face bare. He smiled, though bruises were visible on his skin.
"I’m sorry," Tyson whispered, voice cracked with guilt. "I wasn’t there to protect you. I’m sorry you had to go through this... because of me."
"No," Nancy breathed, her hand still trying to pull away the chains. She rested her head on his. "I’m just glad you’re safe..."
At first, the Rangers looked at each other, unsure. Then, a few decided to go and arrest the Rogues before they could escape.
Tim approached Justin with a grin that didn’t reach his eyes. "Hey, jerk," he spat. "Get on your knees—before I knock your damn teeth out."
"You really think this is over?" Justin sneered, smirking as Tim secured the cuffs around his wrists. "It’s not"
He leaned forward, eyes glinting with malice. "This’ll go to civilian court. Then international. And you know what comes next? You’ll have to release me. You people don’t have the guts to end things for good. You play by rules, and Me?"
He chuckled, low and dark. "I make my own."
Nancy flinched but stayed close to Tyson, refusing to show fear.
Justin turned his gaze to her and grinned wider. "And you, sweetheart?" he said mockingly. "When I’m out... oh, the things I’ll do to you. Slowly. Repeatedly. You’ll forget that asshole’s name and beg me to break you again."
Nancy went pale; today she somewhat escaped the dread, but what if Justin came back again? Will she be alright? He was not someone she could handle, nor it seems, could Elria.
Tyson stood silent, his gaze down at the ground for a moment. He could feel her trembling hand on her metallic armor. He knew she was afraid, too afraid to say anything, and here he was, caged and unable to do anything.
The Ranger instinctively tightened their grasp on his heavy metal chain to keep him grounded.
Lara and Ken looked at each other, helpless. They knew that whatever they were doing was wrong, especially to the man they believed to be their leader. They tried to keep themself rooted to the ground as well.
Tyson’s Meta-bot blinked white as he looked at Nancy, a soft smile on his lips. "Maybe you will get away after getting arrested; perhaps your father will ensure your safety, but that will only happen after you leave this place alive."
The helmet clocked Shut as Lara, on instinct, jumped forward to pull Nancy back to the safe zone, knowing her idol was about to unleash his rage yet again.
Tim’s hand grabbed Justin’s cuff. "Tyson! Don’t be stupid. You cannot fight us, not when you are shackled!"
Rangers shifted their nanobots in their feet, rooting themselves back into the ground. "Keep your hold!"
"Tyson," Nancy tried, "d-don’t listen to him; he is lying."
She knew Justin was not lying, but at that moment, stopping Tyson was her first priority. Hurting Justin meant inviting Albert’s wrath, and she knew it would not be good for Tyson or even Elria.
Lara held Nancy back in the distance, unable to decide what to do. Her duty told her to subdue Tyson, and she wanted to help him.
"I don’t care if he is lying," Tyson said grimly, as he grabbed the chains from his hands as if readying himself to pull everyone toward him. "How dare he? Come into my city and threaten my loved ones?"
"Tyson!" Nancy pleaded.
"You want no rules?" Tyson roared, glaring at the now-cuffed Justin. "I will show you how it feels when others don’t follow the rules."
Rangers scrambled forward again, trying to contain him. But this time? He wasn’t just defending; he was destroying. The yank dragged them forward with incredible strength as few in revolt let the chains go.
Tyson ran forward, dragging them with him as if they were nothing but heavy weights. The scene was brutal and untamed. No hesitation. No mercy. No doubt. Only one target, and that was Justin.
"We have to stop him at all costs!" one Ranger yelled, while another dragged the handcuffed Justin away from Tim, who looked ready to fight.
"Yes, like this, fight like the dog you are," Justin shouted. "No matter what you do, Tyson, I will take her away. I will burn everything down."
The more Justin spoke, the angrier Tyson got.
"You forced my hand," Tim growled, leveling his blaster at Tyson, the weapon humming with full-force energy.
But just then, Lara kicked his arm, causing the shot to blast past Tyson. The force made Tyson stagger slightly, but he regained his composure, keeping the Rangers on their toes.
"He’s not alone," Lara said firmly, stepping beside Tyson. Her eyes never wavered. "I will be by his side. Always."
"Are you insane?!" Tim snapped, trying to regain control. "We have orders to stop him—"
Before he could finish, a metallic punch crashed into his helmet. Tim stumbled back, stunned.
"I’m gonna regret this," Ken muttered, shaking out his fist, "but screw it. I stick with the one who made me human"
Tim touched his helmet, glaring at both of them. "You little shits!"
