Chapter 79: Romance

Tyson’s room was softly lit, the warm glow casting shadows across the walls. He had tried to keep it cleaner than usual—after all, he had invited her in. Deep down, he knew his father and Seraphina would manage the larger battle outside these walls, playing their cards right so that Babylon would be the one to suffer, not Elria. But for now, in this moment, none of that mattered.

Nancy meandered around the room, absorbing the details with a subtle smile.

"What?" Tyson asked, observing her intently. "You don’t like my room?"

"No, it’s nice... It feels like home," she said, tracing her fingers over the smooth fabric of his bed. "I always heard that boys don’t keep their rooms this clean."

"Oh, I’m different," Tyson said smugly, subtly kicking a stray T-shirt under the table when her gaze wandered. "I like things clean and perfect."

Nancy chuckled and shook her head. "Oh, I see."

She turned to him, her expression softening as her eyes lingered on his for a moment too long. "Come closer to me," she murmured, sitting on his bed.

Tyson didn’t hesitate. He cuddled against her, his head resting on the curve of her lap, letting out a content sigh as she ran her fingers through his moist hair. Her touch was gentle, absentmindedly weaving through the strands as if memorizing every detail of him.

But as her fingers moved, her mind raced.

Tyson had assured her that change was coming. They would be united. Babylon wouldn’t dare act recklessly now. But what if things didn’t unfold as he intended? What if Elria found itself in an unwinnable war? What if they harmed Tyson?

And worse... what if Justin took matters into his own hands?

Her heart clenched at the thought. She knew what kind of man he was—he might not have been a Ranger, but he was ruthless in his own way. He did things even trained cadets hesitated to do. If he found out about Tyson... If he discovered she had chosen someone else over him...

Just the thought sent a shiver down her spine.

"Nancy?" Tyson’s voice brought her back, and she saw concern in his eyes as they gazed up at her.

"Sorry," she smiled warmly at him. "You were saying something?"

"I said I nearly lost you," he murmured again, hiding his face in her lap. "That moment... when you told me you loved someone else."

Nancy’s fingers paused.

"I felt something break inside me," he said.

Nancy swallowed hard, trying to find the right words. "Tyson..."

"Why did you do it?" He turned to her, looking up from her lap. "Why did you lie to me?"

She remained silent for a moment as guilt flickered across her face. "Because I was afraid, I was afraid knowing you would have fought for me. You would have gone against everything, and I—" She bit her lip. "I couldn’t let you do that. I couldn’t let you choose me over your duty."

"You don’t get to decide that for me." He sat up as her eyes followed his face. He pulled her close, their foreheads pressing against each other.

"Nancy... you’re not my weakness. You’re my strength. You really think I wouldn’t fight for you? I’d tear this whole damn world apart just to keep you safe."

Her lips parted slightly. "That’s why I was afraid... you idiot."

He smiled, feeling her breath on his lips. "I don’t mind being an idiot for you, Nancy. I would-"

Before he could say anything else, her mouth softly met his in a gentle touch of lips.

The kiss was not hurried, unlike the one Tyson had shared in her house, no. It was slow and deep as if she was trying to remember his taste and the feel of his lips while her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer in fear that someone would take her away from him.

Tyson melted into her, his hands gripping her waist, his nails digging into her skin as if trying to pull her even closer—like he needed to feel her, to claim her with each passing second.

"I love you," she whispered amidst their passionate kisses.

He drew back slightly, his gaze fixed on hers, as he searched her face, attempting to remember every expression and every flicker of emotion. She smiled, her fingers gently brushing over his cheek.

"Nancy..." he breathed.

"Don’t say anything foolish," she whispered, kissing his lips. "I want you too."

A slow smirk curled at his lips as he kissed her once more—more intense, more eager. His hands explored her body, drawing her closer as he led her down onto the bed. She laughed softly between kisses, sensing the change in his energy.

It felt like her words had stirred something within him.

Tyson removed his shirt and threw it aside.

Nancy’s breath caught as she admired his perfectly chiseled body—the defined muscles, the hard lines of his abs. Her fingers lingered above his abdomen, both reluctant and eager.

"Go ahead," he murmured, his voice low and teasing. "They’re yours to explore."

A gentle smile played on her lips as she traced her fingers down his torso, enjoying the warmth of his skin beneath her touch.

He pulled her into another deep kiss, his hands moving purposefully, stripping away the barriers between them. Their clothes fell to the floor one by one, until nothing separated them but the heat radiating from their bodies.

They reclined, their skin touching, breaths intertwining, and desire visible in their eyes—but both paused.

Tyson leaned over her, his touch tender even with the intense heat between them. "Are you certain?" he whispered gently, his lips grazing her temple.

Nancy bit her lip, her body reacting to his warmth and each subtle movement. She desired this. She desired him.

Her fingers ran along the back of his neck, drawing him nearer as she whispered, "Yes."

Their eyes met—deep and unyielding—before he finally claimed her as his own.

They lay entwined in each other’s arms, their bodies warm and breathless from the beautiful intensity of what they had just experienced together.

Nancy’s cheeks turned pink, her skin buzzing where Tyson made contact. A dull ache remained between her legs—a reminder that it was her first time.

This is what it feels like...

She had always wondered whether it would hurt or if it would feel strange. But with him, it hadn’t been just about the pain; it had encompassed everything: the way he held her, the way he whispered her name like a prayer, and the way he made her feel cherished.

She looked up at him, her heart swelling at the sight of his calm expression, his arms still wrapped around her as if he would never let go.

"Are you okay?" he whispered, his voice thick with sleep, his eyes barely open. Nancy nodded, holding him tighter. "G-Good," he mumbled, planting a lazy kiss on her forehead. "I love you."

Her cheeks flushed, yet she smiled against him. "I love you too"

"Goodnight,"

"Goodnight," she whispered, feeling the steady beat of his heartbeat against her cheek.

In his arms, she felt completely safe—more so than anywhere else, as if he was made just for her.

She longed to fall asleep like this every night and wake up next to him each morning. If only this moment could last forever...

The morning sun cast a warm glow across Tyson’s room as Nancy slowly opened her eyes. She realized she was still wrapped in his arms, her bare skin against his as he remained deep in slumber.

She gazed at him, admiring his peaceful expression, a gentle smile tugging at her lips. Leaning in, she softly kissed his nose before slowly sitting up, ensuring she didn’t wake him.

The clock showed 8:34 AM—she had never slept in this late before, but last night had been different—the best night of her life.

After what seemed like ages, she finally let go of all her fears and concerns about their future. In his embrace, there were no wars, threats, or insurmountable decisions—only love—a precious, fleeting moment amidst the upheaval of their lives.

As she quietly dressed, reality hit her hard. She had spent the night here—without informing her mother. The thought made her wince, but she quickly checked her messages.

"Tyson told me that you’re staying with the Roger family." At the end of the text was a smirking emoji from her mom.

Nancy blinked and smiled to herself. Did he mention it to her last night?

She glanced back at Tyson, who was still fast asleep, shaking her head. He really loves me, doesn’t he?

But now the real challenge arrived—sneaking out without getting caught.

As she gently shut the door, she startled and almost yelped in surprise.

She was not alone. Equally startled, Seraphina stood outside Alex’s room, wearing a silk nightgown.

"N-Nancy?" Seraphina gasped, clutching her chest. "Oh my gosh, you nearly gave me a heart attack!"

Nancy froze, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Silence enveloped —then Seraphina’s lips curled into a knowing smile.

"I see... Good morning," she teased, glancing at Tyson’s door.

Nancy’s cheeks turned red as Seraphina laughed, clearly savoring every moment of her flustered state.

"Lets go my sister we will have breakfast" Seraphina took her hands and began dragging her down the stairs.
