Chapter 102: Wedding
Chapter 102: Wedding
Alex stood in front of the mirror, eyes wide as he adjusted the suit for his own wedding—and man, he was dead nervous.
It wasn’t that he was unhappy or under any pressure to marry; it was just that he had never imagined getting this close to someone, let alone sharing his entire life with them.
He loved Seraphina deeply, even though their views sometimes clashed—like the recent incident where she boldly declared she would defend Rogues from false charges.
Alex hadn’t agreed with her on that, but he respected her convictions. She had a different set of morals—a kind heart that drove her to make those kinds of choices.
He, on the other hand, had never been the team type. He preferred to handle things on his own. And now, here he was, about to tie the knot... with someone who challenged him in every way And that scared him.
"You’re selling your soul to the devil," Tyson muttered, lying flat on the luxurious bed. He was Alex’s best man, along with Shaun.
"Don’t say that, Sergeant," Shaun said, adjusting his suit with a calm smile. "Sir Alex is in love with President Seraphina. And soon enough, you’ll be getting married too."
"No way!" Tyson shot up. "Me and Marry? I’m not ready!"
"Do you think I am?" Alex snapped, glaring at Tyson. "Maybe I am going down today, but soon, I will drag you down with me"
Tyson’s eyes widened in horror. "Y-You can’t do—"
"I can do more than that!" Alex barked, still sweating through his collar. "Just wait. I’m going to make your life hell."
The music began to play. Alex stood stiffly by the priest, beads of sweat forming under his collar despite the cool air. His hands trembled slightly.
"You look like you’re about to faint," Tyson leaned in with a grin.
"Yeah, laugh now, asshole. You will cry like me," Alex muttered, eyes fixed on the aisle.
Tyson smirked. Then the doors opened, and gasps echoed across the hall.
Seraphina entered, clad in an elegant white gown adorned with delicate embroidery. She walked gracefully, though her eyes sparkled with tears. Edward Roger stood by her side, steady and proud.
Though Edward was her future father-in-law, he walked with the solemn honor of a father giving away his daughter. His expression was calm, but his eyes—those seasoned, warrior’s eyes—held warmth and sorrow. Her father, the late President Edmund Carver, had once dreamed of this moment. In his absence, Edward had taken his place without hesitation.
Alex’s breath caught not just from seeing her; Seraphina’s eyes found him, and all his nerves vanished momentarily. She smiled softly.
As they reached the altar, Edward gently placed Seraphina’s hand in Alex’s. "Take care of her... not just as your wife, but as your soulmate as well- one with whom you share everything."
Alex nodded, his throat tight. "I will."
Seraphina gave Edward a quiet look of gratitude,"Thank you... for being here."
Edward didn’t speak. He simply nodded once and then stepped back while Seraphina’s mother wiped her eyes, looking at her daughter with a proud smile.
Finally, her late husband’s wish was about to come fulfilled; her lovely daughter was going to marry the man she loved, the man who would protect and care for her.
Tyson stood aside, his gaze drifting across the wedding crowd, landing on her. Nancy.
She stood beside Seraphina, dressed in a soft lilac gown. Her black hair was tied back while a soft smile played on her lips as she adjusted Seraphina’s veil, whispering something that made the bride laugh.
Tyson forgot how to breathe for a moment. Will she ever smile like that with me?Will I even be enough to make her that happy?
He hadn’t proposed. He hadn’t even dared to bring it up. They were in love, yes; they cared about each other a lot, but marriage? Could he be that person?
He’d always been a naive guy, someone who didn’t want responsibilities but somehow learned to embrace them along the way. But looking at her beautiful face made him feel like maybe he could learn that too on his journey.
But the question was...would she say yes? Would she regret it if she did? and what will he do is she says no?
He swallowed hard, tensing up at the thought just then Nancy turned slightly and caught him staring. Her eyes softened as she blushed.
Tyson blinked. Then, almost by instinct, smiled back.
Maybe he was overthinking it—for today at least.
Tyson took a deep breath. He should be enjoying his brother’s wedding. This was a happy moment, one they all deserved after everything they had endured. And Nancy...
She had endured even more. She needed this time to unwind- perhaps even more than Tyson did.
He looked at her once more—at that radiant smile—and silently made a vow. That smile... I will protect it at all costs.
Not far away, Lara sat in a chair, arms crossed and lips pouted, watching as Tyson’s soft gaze lingered on Nancy, who remained blissfully unaware of it.
"I’m here too, Senior," she muttered under her breath.
Bee, seated beside her, heard the comment and raised an eyebrow while munching on a snack. Meanwhile, Ken was too busy scanning the room, his eyes wide at the wealthy girls gathered near the refreshments.
"Man, this is heaven," Ken sighed dreamily.
"Yeah, right," Bee replied with a smirk, ignoring Lara’s sulk. "There’s so much food and drink... but boss, you haven’t tried anything yet. How can you say it’s heaven?"
Ken rubbed his teeth, "Shut up, idiot. Who’s talking about food?"
"You guys are gross," Lara grumbled at both of them before glancing back at Nancy, biting her nails. "I’m going to rival you... just wait."
Then, the music quieted. The crowd settled.
As the priest began to speak, the world seemed to fade into stillness. There was only Alex and Seraphina... And a vow about to bind two souls, born from different paths, into one.

Albert stood in front of the screen as it projected a General from the lower city known as Livera, appearing via video call.
The General stood stiffly, with a data screens paused behind him, nervously fidgeting with his AI. He did his best not to make direct eye contact with Albert. After all, who wanted to mess with one of the three strongest men on the planet? Even though he was a general, he knew better than offending Albert.
He didn’t have the power to back himself, and there were no strong connections or manpower. He couldn’t even deal with the strange young man in his city who had nearly terrorized all the Meta-bot wearers.
"So he killed two people last week," Albert repeated, referring to the report sent by his fellow Ranger from another city. "Yet he’s still roaming free?"
It was unbelievable—that a man killing both Rangers and Rogues alike was walking the streets, while the General himself could do nothing.
"No wonder you’re still stuck at 63, Livai," Albert shook his head. "You don’t even know how to maintain your authority."
"S-sorry, sir... but he... he’s a strangly pwoerful," Livai stuttered. With a quick motion, he forwarded the data to Albert— Information about the young man. The single coloured freak known in his city.
Albert watched the footage of the young man with purple hair. A video from five years ago, where he appeared weak and tired and hardly a threat to anyone. The reportes also suggested along side his strange purple colour he got 11 power points at that time Yet now, rumors claimed he had grown astonishingly—nearing 40 Power Points without any training or steady supply of nano particles.
"May I ask, sir—why are you searching for a single-colored Meta-bot?" Livai said carefully. He wasn’t really curious—just desperate to divert Albert’s attention from his own failure to apprehend the man. "I mean... is there something special about his armor? Or something else?"
Albert turned to him with a cold glare. "Aren’t you asking too many questions for a weakling?"
"S-sorry, sir. I didn’t mean to overstep," Livai stammered, lowering his eyes as Albert silently scrolled through the information projected in a floating panel beside him.
"Any family members?" Albert asked, frowning as the screen failed to provide that detail.
Livai hesitated. "His mother... was killed by his father. And then the father committed suicide. We had to suppress a lot of information about the boy...For his own safety"
"His safety? or your goal Livai?" Albert smiled as slow realised drawn into him. "We are talking about Steel’s family arent we? He is Steel’s son"
Livai sweated a bucket aftear hearing Albert has found out, He knelt. "Please sir i did what i could, but i swear i did not harm Sir Steel or his Wife, They were dead by the time i reached their house and Son was missing so i-I took a long shot and..."
Albert raised his hand. "I dont care, you did what you had to and i respect you for that but It seems that Coward’s son was alive all this time"
Livai nodded, AS Albert muttered. "Ryzen"
