Bastards Ascension: A Playground of Gods -
Chapter 52: Arrival
Chapter 52: Arrival
With Neon guiding them, it took less than five minutes to reach the battle suit room.
They stopped before a large steel door, which slid open with a soft hiss.
The room inside was vast and dimly lit, bathed in a cool, metallic glow.
Rows of glass pods lined both walls, each holding a battle suit suspended midair by magnetic locks, softly illuminated by pulses of energy.
Beside each pod, floating holographic panels displayed the specs and registered user data.
At the center stood a circular platform—part scanner, part transfer station—where users could summon, equip, or upgrade their suits.
The floor emitted a low, rhythmic pulse of light, and the faint hum of Doperium energy vibrated through the air.
Everything in the room felt precise, clean, and engineered for pure efficiency.
Kieran stepped toward his designated pod, his name hovering just above the glass in soft digital text:
{Kieran Marcoth}
Inside, the suit was like a shadow made solid—sleek and modern with an air of silent danger.
Built from black Doperium weave, the suit clung to the body like a second skin, engineered for speed, agility, and stealth.
Faint gray circuit lines traced its surface, glowing subtly when activated—never bright enough to betray position.
A hood was seamlessly integrated into the collar, soft and high-tech, designed to conceal the wearer’s face while linking to the suit’s HUD for enhanced vision and targeting.
The boots absorbed all sound, while retractable grips in the gloves optimized sword handling and quick-draw motions.
Hidden compartments lined the belt and gauntlets—perfect for storing throwing knives, tools, or enhancers.
It wasn’t just a battle suit—it was a statement. A predator’s skin, tailored for a silent blade.
Kieran smiled to himself, nodding with quiet approval.
"Perfect," he murmured.
"Neon, I want to wear the suit."
{Understood... Equipping now.}
A flash of blue light shot out from the pod, scanning down Kieran’s body from head to toe.
He blinked—and the suit was gone from the pod.
Looking down, he realized it was now wrapped perfectly around him.
The fit was flawless. It hugged his form without restriction, every movement feeling natural and light.
Henry, who had been standing beside him, was wide-eyed with amazement.
"You look... awesome," he said, blinking at the sleek, deadly outfit Kieran now wore.
Kieran didn’t respond to the compliment. "You should suit up too. We don’t have much time."
"Oh—right!" Henry snapped back to attention, turning to his own pod.
"Neon, suit up!" he called.
Kieran watched as the familiar blue beam scanned Henry from head to toe, drawing his suit from the pod and placing it on him in an instant.
Henry’s suit was far different from Kieran’s own.
The battle suit was built for raw speed.
Forged from black Doperium weave, it clung tightly to the body—lightweight yet durable enough to absorb high-impact strikes.
Thin crimson lines pulsed across the surface, channeling energy from the beast core embedded in its chestplate.
A glove hugged his hands tightly, with an X engraved behind it.
And then, the boots.
The boots were lined with micro-thrusters, allowing for burst movement, quick dashes, and safer landings.
’It seems he’s focusing more on speed,’ Kieran thought to himself as he carefully observed details of Henry’s suit.
Just then, the metallic door slid open and a figure entered the room.
Her steps were hurried, as though she simply just wanted to get something and leave just as quick.
But as she entered the room, her breath hitched seeing the figure in front of her, dressed up in a suit.
Kieran’s eyes darted towards her the moment the door opened, and as their gazes met, Natasha felt a shiver run down her spine.
She quickly turned her eyes away.
’Why the hell is he here?!’ Natasha thought, frustrated, as she turned her gaze away, doing everything she could to avoid looking in his direction.
She walked to her glass pod,
observing her battle suit while glancing toward Kieran from the side of her eyes from time to time.
Kieran ignored her completely and turned to Henry.
"You done? Let’s go."
Henry, who had been distracted watching Natasha act strangely, snapped back to focus at Kieran’s words.
"Yeah, I’m done," Henry replied.
They quickly left the room, leaving Natasha to do her business.
She let out a soft sigh as he left the room.
’What’s wrong with me?’ she thought, slapping her cheeks.
She had never felt such pressure from one person in her entire life.
Even her dad didn’t give her the same pressure like Kieran did!
And the fact that he said nothing and didn’t even act as if she existed, it made her all the more frustrated for some reason.
Was she really so insignificant to him, that he clearly didn’t seem to care about her?
Or was he simply toying with her?
She didn’t know which.
But she was growing tired of it, and she wanted it to end.
’I’ll meet him. I have to confront him... so I can end this,’ she thought, gritting her teeth tightly.
"Neon, suit up!"
The bright beam of light shot straight at her.
As it disappeared, she was left with a sleek suit with a golden color,
blue circuits running through it like veins.
The chestplate tapered smoothly into a segmented waistguard, offering mobility without bulk.
The pauldrons curved gracefully over the shoulders, stylized like wings folded in rest.
A high collar guarded the neck, while the armored boots rose to mid-thigh, molded for speed and balance.
The helmet, when worn, resembled a smooth mask with a narrow visor—sharp and intimidating, but unmistakably graceful.
Beneath it all, a flexible inner mesh shimmered with enchanted fibers, designed to adapt to movement and regulate mana flow.
Natasha looked at the suit with satisfaction, but she quickly left the hall with purpose.
Her steps were hurried, almost to the point where it seemed as though she was running.
’I’ll catch up to him, and we’ll finish our discussion from before,’ she resolved, as she dashed through the corridors to catch up to Kieran.
It didn’t take long for her to spot him, but as she drew closer, a loud voice echoed through the entire ship.
"We’ve arrived at our destination. All passengers, please proceed to the exit."
