Chapter 50: Battle suit

Trevor stood in front of the kids.

His figure, the last line between them and the large space cruiser behind him.

Excitement was flowing through their veins, wishing they could just skip all the formalities and dive right into the spaceship.

Kieran included.

Although, unlike the rest, he was much more skilled at restraint.

All the engineers walked out of the space cruiser, apparently done with their check-up.

The door of the cruiser was left open... The soft ambient light bathing the silver-plated walls.

To the kids, though, that door looked like the gateway to heaven.

Trevor enjoyed the look on their faces.

He never ceased to enjoy the moment when the kids would all be excited to ride on his baby.

It was part of the reason he loved his work.

’They’ll be even more thrilled once they step inside... This is just the beginning,’ Trevor thought with a wicked grin, adjusting his lens with deliberate care.

He coughed, catching their attention.

"We have a few more minutes before you board the cruiser, so let’s not waste any more time," Trevor started, the kids all fixing their gazes on him.

"As a welcome gift from the Blue Fang, I’m sure you all would love to get yourselves some good battle suits for this."

They broke into chatter as they heard him.

A battle suit!

These weren’t something you could just buy at a store—which was exactly why Kieran hadn’t gotten one when he visited Ra’Gul.

Creating a battle suit demanded an enormous amount of Doperium, a rare and costly resource only available to elite factions or the extremely wealthy.

At the heart of each suit was a Doperium core, often fused with beast cores from powerful creatures. Together, they powered the suit’s advanced functions—enhanced healing, speed boosts, strength amplification, and more.

Every battle suit was custom-made, tailored specifically to the user’s needs and fighting style.

Battle suits were more than armor—they were power incarnate, forged from the rarest materials and infused with the essence of slain beasts.

Their strength came from two sources: Doperium and beast cores.

Doperium itself came in three distinct tiers—Red, Purple, and Silver—with Silver being the most powerful and incredibly rare, even across realms.

The higher the purity of Doperium used, the greater the suit’s base potential.

But it didn’t stop there.

The second key component was the beast core, extracted from powerful creatures slain in battle.

The stronger the beast, the more advanced the suit’s abilities became.

High-grade cores allowed integration of specialized features—adaptive defense, elemental resistance, enhanced mana channels, or even stealth modes.

Getting a battle suit wasn’t easy.

You had to kill a beast to get its core—and secure Doperium, which was scarce, tightly controlled, and often mined in dangerous zones.

That’s why only factions and the truly wealthy had access to them.

Trevor adjusted his lens, addressing the group.

"Once you enter the space cruiser, your band will automatically sync with the ship’s central AI—Neon," he explained.

"You’ll be able to upload your preferred combat styles and enhancements. The system will calibrate that data and prepare your battle suit accordingly in the customization chamber."

He looked around, his tone shifting to something firmer.

"Of course, what you’ll receive now is a basic-tier suit—good enough for training and simple missions. But if you ever obtain a high-level beast core and wish to upgrade, come see me. I’ll handle the reconstruction personally."

There was a short pause as his words settled.

"I believe he’s explained everything clearly," Jacob said, stepping forward—but he didn’t move yet, like he was expecting something.

A beat later, the rhythmic sound of boots echoed through the vast container.

A squad of Awakened marched in, each one clad in obsidian black battle suits, streaked with glowing red patterns like living circuits.

The air around them shifted with quiet power, their presence alone enough to silence the entire group.

"Now..." Trevor said, stepping aside, "you may board the space cruiser."

Jacob nodded and took the lead.

One by one, the Awakened trainees climbed the stairs, disappearing into the cruiser’s glowing interior.

Their eyes lit up as they entered inside the space cruiser.

It was like they had entered a mini hotel, enclosed in a metal container.

Inside the space cruiser, the atmosphere was cool and precise, a blend of advanced technology and military efficiency.

Smooth metal walls curved seamlessly overhead, lined with softly glowing panels that adjusted their brightness based on the crew’s needs.

The main corridor stretched long and wide, polished floors reflecting the gentle hum of energy running through the ship. Along the walls, touch-sensitive interfaces allowed for instant access to ship controls, mission data, and communications.

Rooms branched off from the corridor—each purpose-built.

As their eyes scanned the beautiful interior of the space cruiser, the angelic soft voice that echoed through the entire ship caught their attention.

"Welcome, New recruits.... I am Neon, the central cruiser AI."

Neon’s words made it feel as though the ship itself had recognized their presence,

giving a calm and welcoming feeling.

Their tin-plated bands lit up, and an interface appeared in front of them.

{You have successfully integrated with Neon}

{I know you’re scared, don’t worry.... Neon is your friend. If you have any problems, feel free to tell me}

With the bands connected, they could have personal communication with the cruiser’s AI.

And the AI was even sweeter through the personal communication board.

It spoke genuinely with kindness and warmth.

"The personal communication board allows Neon to read emotional fluctuations and all whatnot... Thanks to that, Neon can be the perfect partner," Trevor explained while behind the group.

’One that makes the single boys and girls in the room feel loved,’ he completed in his mind, with a satisfied smile.

"Neon will assign you all room numbers and will guide you to your various rooms. You can also use it to tour the spaceship later," Trevor explained.

"You can all go and check out your rooms and prepare yourselves; we will be heading to Demiurge soon," Jacob added.
