Chapter 187: Chapter 187: The Aeroraptor Queen(Part 4)

Raven and the Aeroraptor Queen shot towards each other with immense speed, a deafening crash ringing out as they slammed their fists against each other, a devastating shockwave erupting upon impact, before the Monster twisted its body across and flapped its wings powerfully, spinning around rapidly and whipping its tail towards Raven.

Its tail slammed against Raven’s side, before he gritted his teeth and fired out a concentrated burst of purple energy from his eyes with a fierce roar, striking the right side of the Monster’s face and scorching its scales, before it snapped open its jaws and fired out a blast of water, striking the middle of his chest and pushing him back several meters across the ground.

Raven fired out a scorching blast of flames as the Aeroraptor Queen zipped in towards him rapidly, the Monster leaping up and over the flames before quickly veering across as Raven extended his right arm and whipped it across, his claws grazing the Monster’s left side and drawing out a trickle of blood.

It growled as the cut healed and closed up, before swooping down towards Raven as he retracted his arm and coated his entire body in intense crackling lightning, a burst of steam erupting around his as the Monster fired out a swirling burst of water towards him, which evaporated instantly as it collided against his lightning-coated body.

The Monster slammed its tail against his chest as he simultaneously struck the side of its face with an energy blast from his eyes, the force of the tail strike sending him skidding back along the ground as the Monster stiffened up, electrocuted upon impact, the side of its face burnt from the energy blast.

Raven then quickly flew up as the Monster snarled and shot towards him, leaping forward as it closed in on him. Raven evaded it before unleashing a roaring blast of purple flames down towards the Monster Queen.

The Monster zipped away, narrowly evading the blast before spreading out its wings and flying up, before shooting towards Raven with immense speed, firing out a barrage of ice needles.

Raven unleashed a blazing burst of flames with a swing of his arm, vaporizing the ice needles before extending out several tendrils, channeling lightning around them and sending them zipping out as they sparked and cracked intensely.

The Monster Queen weaved through the air to evade the electrified tendrils, before putting on a burst of speed with a powerful flap of its wings and swung its claws across as it closed in on Raven.

He grimaced as the Monster inflicted deep gashes across his left bicep, before he swiftly reached out as it began to zip past him, grabbing its tail before it could get out of his reach, pulling it towards him with a violent yank and slammed his forehead against the Monster’s head, dazing it upon impact.

He began to charge up energy in his eyes, before quickly flinging the Monster down towards the ground with all his strength as it began to drive its claws towards his throat, a loud crash ringing out as the Monster Queen slammed onto the ground with immense force.

The glow of Raven’s eyes intensified sharply as he charged up, before unleashing a massive, drilling blast of purple energy down towards the Monster as it shakily got back onto its feet, its eyes widening in alarm as the area around it got bathed in a deep purple glow.

It scrambled away frantically as the blast closed in on it, Raven losing sight of the Monster as the blast slammed onto the ground and tunneled into the dirt, a massive cloud of dust rising up as the entire area shook and rumbled violently.

Raven let out a slow exhale as the blast of energy petered out, catching his breath before flapping his wings with immense force to blow away the dust cloud, his gaze darting about before he narrowed his eyes as he spotted the Monster a few meters away from the deep crater.

It had an enraged look on its face, its right arm and a chunk of its right side missing, its exposed flesh scorched badly. Its entire body was trembling in pain and rage, before it let out a furious roar as it regenerated, its arm steadily growing back as Raven swooped down towards it at full speed.

He extended out the claws on his right hand, lightning crackling around them intensely, before drawing his arm back as he began to close in on the Monster.

Suddenly, he seized up as a wave of fatigue hit him, his vision blurring as he reached the limit of his transformation, before gritting his teeth and mustering up the last reserves of his strength and whipped his claws across at the Monster’s throat as fast as he could, but his movements had visibly slowed down.

The Monster Queen tilted its body across, wincing as Raven’s claws sliced across the right side of its neck, millimeters short of a fatal strike, before the Monster slammed its left arm against Raven’s side, sending him hurtling away and skidding across the ground as his transformation began to wear off.

As he came to a screeching halt across the dirt, he let out a gasp as he tried to catch his breathing, reverting back to his base form as sweat poured down his face.

As he struggled to get back up, he quickly rolled out of the way as the Aeroraptor Queen can swooping towards him, driving the claws on its feet down.

Raven narrowly evaded the attack, before the Monster slammed its tail against the middle of his chest, sending him flying across before his back struck the barrier, his body aching as he slumped onto the ground.

The Monster shakily approached him, its movements unsteady. While it had regenerated and healed all its injuries, its stamina was completely spent, it was barely able to stay standing.

"Damn it...just a few more seconds and I would’ve been able to finish it off," Raven thought to himself with a tense, frustrated grimace.

"I have never felt...this exhausted and weak before. You are strong, human. But now, you lose. And once I devour you, I shall grow so much more powerf-...," Began the Monster, raising its claws to finish him off, before it abruptly trailed off as its body froze in place.

"Great work, Raven. That was just the opening I needed," Remarked Aster, standing right behind the Monster.

"H-How...?"

"You may have sharp senses, but in your current state, even if you had noticed me, you don’t have the energy to react fast enough. And with how weakened you are, you don’t have the strength to break free of my grasp. It’s over," Replied Aster, as the Monster struggled in vain against the grip of his Telekinetic Zone.

"I...I will not die like this! You...you are nothing more than my prey, I refuse to be killed by a human!" Snarled the Aeroraptor Queen, straining against the telekinetic hold over its body desperately.

"You have my sympathy, you’re an unfortunate, pitiful creature that should never have acquired this level of power and intelligence, at no fault of your own. We have no choice but to kill you...but don’t worry, I’ll put you out of your misery quickly," Said Aster quietly, before whipping his arm across and slicing through the Monster’s neck with a telekinetic slash, decapitating it.

Its head fell off and hit the ground with a thud, before its body went limp and collapsed onto the dirt as Aster released his Telekinetic Zone, blood pouring out and seeping into the ground.

Tacitus then took down the barrier, before the others came rushing over as Aster reached down to help Raven back up.

"You holding up alright, there, kiddo?"

"Y-Yeah, I’ll be fine, just exhausted. Mind lending me your shoulder? I don’t think I can stand," Replied Raven with a sheepish smile.

"Of course, just take it easy and relax, you’ve more than earned it," Smiled Aster, patting Raven’s head as he supported him against his shoulder.

"Whew, that was an intense battle, glad it’s finally over," Rione sighed in relief.

"Yes, excellent work, Raven, we couldn’t have done this without you," Added Jules gratefully.

"And since you did most of the work, I didn’t have to wear myself out too much. Out of curiosity, how strong was that thing in comparison to the Undead King and the Elf you fought in Sylph?" Inquired Tacitus curiously.

"Well, if you take out the Undead King’s instant regeneration, this Monster was more of a challenge. But I can’t say for certain since I have no memory of fighting the Undead King in my Dark Form. As for Leptar, he was stronger than this Monster Queen, but the Monster was a bit faster. Seriously, though, it’s insane that we’ve faced three threats of this level in less than a year," Replied Raven in bemusement.

"Yeah, there better not be a fourth," Sighed Tacitus in exasperation.

"I wholeheartedly agree with that notion, enough is enough already," Nodded Jules in agreement.
