Chapter 180: Chapter 180: Monster Queen Elimination(Part 6)

"Damn, those are a lot of Giant Centipedes."

"My skin’s crawling just looking at them, they’re so creepy..."

"Yeah, they’re unsettling to look at, that’s for sure."

"Alright, I can sense where the Queen is, I’ll barrel through the swarm and attack the Queen. I’ll try to take out as many of them as I can, I’ll leave you guys to handle the ones I miss," Said Raven, as he honed in on the Queen’s location.

He’d been assigned to eliminate a Monster Queen in a sandy, rocky area, a mutated Giant Centipede. There were several dozen Giant Centipedes all over the area, well over sixty of them.

"Understood, sir."

"We’ll do our best."

"Now, then, let’s get started, shall we?" Remarked Raven, stepping forward as he cracked his neck, before unleashing his Dark Form, a burst of energy erupting around him as he tranformed.

The purple scales across his body began glowing as his face extended forward into long, wide jaws, his fangs curving and sharpening as he spread out his wings, before zipping forward with immense speed, a burst of wind erupting behind him.

He extended out several tendrils from his back with razor sharp blades at the end, his eyes glowing as he fired off a barrage of beams, sending his tendrils shooting out and whipping them around.

His beams sliced through several of the Giant Centipedes while his tendrils tore them apart, a cacophony of screeches ringing out.

A number of the Monsters then began to gather in front of a large mound of dirt, where Raven was sensing the Queen’s presence from, before he opened his mouth and unleashed a devastating, roaring wave of flames towards the group of Giant Centipedes, setting them ablaze and roasting them.

He then zipped up and over the burning pile of Monsters, his eyes glowing intensely before a massive blast of purple energy burst forth, barreling through the air and drilling into the mound of dirt, a muffled screech ringing out from inside the dirt before the ground began rumbling, right as a massive figure burst out of the mound.

It was the Giant Centipede Queen, it was much bigger than the other Giant Centipedes, several of its legs were uneven in size, its head oddly-shaped, the right side of its head badly burnt from Raven’s energy blast.

It zipped towards him with a sharp chitter before snapping its fangs at him, which he easily evaded by flying up and over its head before slamming his fist onto the top of its head, a sharp crunch ringing out as cracks spread out across its exoskeleton around that spot.

It sharply turned its head around towards Raven, snapping at him again before he swiftly slammed his knee onto the bottom of its jaw, its head jerking straight up before Raven unleashed a pressurized burst of energy from his eyes, striking the spot below its head and scorching its exoskeleton, wisps of smoke billowing out, before Raven flew up higher into the air as the Monster Queen began to chase after him, snapping its fangs at him.

"You’re a tough one, aren’t you? In that case...," Muttered Raven, before extending out several tendrils from his back, sending them zipping down towards the Monster Queen with immense speed.

It began to skitter away, but it was too slow, Raven’s tendrils coiling and constricting tightly around its entire body, restraining it before lifting it off the ground and raising it up into the air.

Raven then tightened the tendrils further, before stretching them out, the Monster Queen’s body getting pulled across, it tried to struggle and break free of Raven’s grasp, but to no avail.

Raven steadily began pulling with more and more force, cracks starting to spread out across its exoskeleton. It let out a pain screech as sharp crunches began to ring out, the segments of its exoskeleton getting stretched out, before sprays of dark, gloopy liquid began bursting out of the cracks in its exoskeleton.

Suddenly, a sickening squelch and crunch rang out as Raven tore its body apart into several pieces, its innards spilling out and splattering across the dirt, before Raven let go its torn apart body, the large chunks plummeting down and crashing onto the ground.

Raven then fired down a blazing wave of flames down towards the pile that was left of the Monster Queen’s body, the flames engulfing the chunks and setting them ablaze.

"Alright, that takes care of that. All that’s left to do now is to wipe out the rest and then head back," Sighed Raven as he stretched his arms out, before turning his attention to the handful of Giant Centipedes left in the area.

Meanwhile, in Amethyst City...

"I’m glad that went so smoothly, we got the job done without any casualties, or even any significant injuries," Remarked Akila, heading for the Knight outpost, having finished eliminating the Monster Queen he’d been assigned to take down, along with all its spawn.

He’d fought a Chimera Monster Queen, a Mid Level species that had goat-like heads with sharp curved horns, the body of a loom, a snake for a tail, and feathered wings, and the Queen itself was on par with a High Level Monster.

Thanks to his Phase Shift Magic, with his current level of mastery over it, he managed to complete the job unscathed, while the team that had accompanied him handled the rest of the Chimeras.

"Y-Yeah, you did a great job, we got lucky that there weren’t too many of them," Responded Kia, who had been one of the members of his team.

"Let’s report that we’ve completed the job to HQ and then rest up, we-...," Began Akila.

"Look out!" Suddenly exclaimed Kia as she turned her gaze up in alarm.

Akila tensed before following her gaze, his eyes widening as a figure came rapidly swooping down towards him.

He turned himself intangible as Kia sprang away, the figure closing in on him before phasing right through, landing behind him before he spun around and backed away warily.

"Huh? A Monster?" He frowned warily.

It resembled a dinosaur, it had limber, muscular arms, its fangs were sharp and uneven, it had a row of jagged spikes down the middle of its back and tail, and it had hooked claws on both its feet and hands.

"Wh-What is this...what am I sensing?" Uttered Kia shakily, collapsing onto her knees as her face went pale, her entire body trembling.

Akila put his guard up, taking a defensive stance and holding his blades up in front of himself as the Monster narrowed its eyes at him, letting out a low growl.

Suddenly, his eyes widened in alarm as it shot forward with incredible speed, closing in on him in the blink of an eye, before swiping its claws at him.

He sprang back while turning himself intangible, one of the Monster’s claws slicing through his armor and starting to pierce into his skin before phasing through his chest as he turned intangible, a trickle of blood running down his chest.

"S-So fast...," He uttered shakily, before tensing as he suddenly lost sight of the Monster as it zipped across.

He then quickly turned his gaze across to the right as he spotted a rapid blur zipping in, turning the right side of his body intangible right in the nick of time as the Monster snapped its jaws at him, before he slashed at its head with his left blade.

The Monster swiftly sprang back, evading the swing of the blade before it leapt towards him, its claws raised. As he began to turn his upper body intangible, he let out a startled yelp as something struck the back of his legs, as the Monster whipped its tail across with immense force.

Twinges of pain erupted across the back of his calves upon impact, his chest tightening as he fell backwards, before a sharp wheeze rang out as the Monster slammed its foot onto the middle of his stomach, his back colliding against the ground painfully, the back of his head thudding against the dirt and dazing him.

As he let out a shaky groan, the Monster raised its claws before driving them down towards his throat, right as a sharp clang rang out as Kia shot forward and blocked the thrust of the Monster’s claws with one of her blades.

Cracks spread out across the blade upon impact, before she flinched as the Monster turned its attention towards him, rapidly lifting its right foot and slamming it against her stomach before she could react.

She let out as agonized gasp as the impact knocked the wind out of her, the hooked claw on the Monster’s foot digging into her stomach before tearing her skin apart as the claw got wrenched out as she went hurtling back through the air, her back slamming onto the side of a nearby building.

She coughed out blood as she collapsed onto her knees and fell over, her entire body rattled as she struggled to get back onto her feet, to no avail.

"D-Damn it...," Uttered Akila weakly, as the Monster turned its attention back towards him, thinking to himself, "Th-This is bad, I...I can’t focus enough to use my Magic. Is...is this it for me...?"

His heart sank as the Monster drove its claws down towards him, bracing himself for the killing blow, before the Monster suddenly froze and leapt back, a rapid, fiery slash of flames slicing through the air above Akila.

"Looks like I made it back just in time. That must be another Monster Queen, looks like an Aeroraptor. My instincts are telling me that it’s dangerous, this feeling, it almost reminds me of the Undead King...it must be the last Monster Queen that the scouting team located."

"C-Captain Fyre, thank goodness...," Akila sighed in relief, as he shakily sat up.

"Can you stand, Akila?"

"Y-Yeah, I think so."

"Good. Take Kia to the outpost, get her healed and report this to the Commander Squad, immediately," Fyre instructed him, as he narrowed his eyes at the Monster Queen and swung his spear across, a bead of sweat running down the side of his face...
