Chapter 997 - Chapter 997 Chapter 996 Accident
Chapter 997: Chapter 996 Accident Chapter 997: Chapter 996 Accident Nan Fei got out of the car and looked at Maple Garden dumbfounded, not knowing what had happened inside.
However, as a smart person, she would definitely not ask; no matter how curious she was, she had to restrain herself.
After Jiang Yang got out of the car, he stood beside Nan Fei, silently looking ahead.
“What are you looking at?” Nan Fei bent down to ask.
Jiang Yang shook his head.
“Boss!” Xing Zhou emerged from the darkness, saluted Huo Beijiang with a military salute. Seeing Nan Fei, he politely nodded his head to her as well.
“Xing Zhou, what brings you here?” Huo Beijiang closed the car door, his expression becoming a few shades more serious. His sharp eyes vaguely radiated a murderous aura.
Because he had been accompanied by Ning Di and Lu Jin during this period, and Xing Zhou was currently a battalion commander under the 36th Division with numerous responsibilities, he would not come here without a special situation.
Xing Zhou glanced at Nan Fei covertly, and Huo Beijiang immediately understood his meaning.
It seemed that indeed, something had happened to Ning Di.
“You wait for me first.”
“Okay, boss.”
Xing Zhou had also driven here and parked his car on the roadside not far away. After he finished speaking, he went straight to the car and waited.
Nan Fei also noticed, and after Xing Zhou left, she asked with concern, “Is there trouble?”
“There’s an emergency in the military. I need to go back and deal with it.”
Although Nan Fei was very reluctant to see him go, she was understanding and said, “Then you should go! Take care of yourself and don’t get hurt. Remember to change the dressing on your back wound, and don’t forget to take the anti-inflammatory medicine you need to eat every day.”
She had noticed that Bei Jiang really disliked taking medicine. His back wound was so severe, yet he hadn’t taken any of the medications prescribed by the doctor.
Thinking of this, Nan Fei’s face darkened, and she warned, “I advise you to take the medication on time, or don’t blame me for being impolite.”
Huo Beijiang took a step forward, pulled her tightly into his embrace, and whispered intimately, “How will you be impolite, huh?” His voice rose teasingly at the end, making Nan Fei’s heart flutter with a tingling sensation as he pronounced the word with a lingering and sorrowful tone.
Nan Fei’s face turned red, and she couldn’t utter a word of the threat she had prepared. She could only stare blankly into his deep moons, feeling almost sucked into them.
Huo Beijiang lowered his head and kissed her lips lightly, his voice filled with regret, “It seems that there’s no chance to test the quality of the bed tonight, wait obediently for my return.”
“Mm!” Nan Fei nodded foolishly.
“Don’t rush back to military training,” he warned, concerned, fearing his wife was too straightforward and would volunteer to suffer in his stead.
Military training was quite exhausting, and he really couldn’t bear it. So he planned to teach her a few self-defense moves first before sending her back, which wouldn’t be too late.
“Okay!” Nan Fei replied crisply, making Huo Beijiang’s eyes gleam with a satisfied smile.
“I’m off!” He hugged her tightly once more before finally turning and leaving without looking back.
For Huo Beijiang, every goodbye with his wife was the greatest test of his willpower.
Nan Fei stood in place, watching Huo Beijiang get into the car, and only snapped back to reality once the car had disappeared from her view.
Suddenly, she thought of the incident that afternoon, and the smile on her face faded. Over the past year, Jiang Yang had grown a lot taller. She didn’t need to squat to meet his gaze anymore; bending over was enough.
Nan Fei, bending over, looked into Jiang Yang’s eyes with a solemnity she had never had before.
“Jiang Yang.”
Jiang Yang looked back at her with a calm gaze.
“Are you okay?” Nan Fei’s voice was very soft, but the seriousness in her tone was very heavy, each word and syllable striking at the heart of Jiang Yang.
