Chapter 984 - Chapter 984 Chapter 983 Accidental Encounter
Chapter 984: Chapter 983 Accidental Encounter Chapter 984: Chapter 983 Accidental Encounter It must be said that Feng Sha’s words struck right at the heart of Leng Ran’s concerns.
She truly didn’t want to.
“Do I have a choice?” Leng Ran asked irritably.
Unexpectedly, Feng Sha nodded earnestly, “Of course, you have a choice. Your choice is to kill the young lady and take her place.”
Leng Ran was shocked; she had never thought about killing anyone, let alone her own aunt.
She looked at Feng Sha as if he were insane, her breathing becoming increasingly unsteady.
Seeing her like this, Feng Sha seemed quite disappointed. He shrugged and said, “I really shouldn’t have sent you to the provincial city’s branch family. A perfectly good person has been spoiled.” She had none of the poise the young lady had back then.
Leng Ran didn’t know what to say, only feeling her heart sinking continuously, all the way to the bottom of the abyss.
“I advise you to take your task seriously, otherwise the outcome will be more than you can bear.”
Feng Sha raised his hand and casually pointed behind him. Leng Ran looked over his shoulder and saw a charming young maiden smiling at herself. She appeared to be seventeen or eighteen years old, with bright eyes, white teeth, and when smiling, cute tiger teeth were revealed.
It seemed she had been watching Leng Ran for quite a while and, upon seeing Leng Ran look her way, she mouthed a greeting.
“Cousin, long time no see.”
At last, Leng Ran recognized her; this was her cousin from her uncle’s family, Leng Tianqi.
When had she arrived? Shouldn’t she be in school at this time?
“Look, there’s always someone thinking of replacing you,” Feng Sha continued. “The only reason you are valued now is because of the resources you currently hold. So don’t waste these resources.”
Leng Ran understood.
The reason her aunt valued her was not because she was her aunt’s niece but because she knew Jiang Nanfei; they had once been classmates.
For some reason, the last shred of resolve in Leng Ran’s heart suddenly collapsed.
She could even hear the sound of familial relations collapsing, thunderous and deafening.
“Go! She’s coming out,” said Feng Sha, pointing across the way.
Leng Ran silently stood up from her seat like a marionette and walked outside; then, she finally couldn’t help but squat down and weep aloud.
Through the display window, Feng Sha watched Leng Ran, a glint of appreciation flashing in his eyes. She’s a quick learner, indeed!
Compared to a woman like Leng Tianqi, who was vicious inside and out, he preferred someone like Leng Ran. Because she was more malleable, she had more potential–no one knew how far the future Leng Ran could go.

Nan Fei, who had just left the company, was feeling relaxed after discussing her recent ideas and the company’s next steps with Chen Cuihua. Her mood, however, became rigid upon hearing a familiar cry.
She stood at the street corner, looking at the girl across the street who was sitting on the ground with her face buried in her knees, her brows furrowed deeply.
If she wasn’t mistaken, that was Leng Ran across the street, right?
But with Leng Ran’s proud and aloof temperament, how could it be her?
Come to think of it, she hadn’t seen Leng Ran in almost a year. They had agreed to meet in Imperial City, but there had been so many things going on that she had no chance to get in touch.
Now, suddenly seeing her on the street, Nan Fei felt a bit unaccustomed.
After confirming she was not mistaken, Nan Fei quickly walked over and gently tapped Leng Ran’s shoulder. The young maiden raised her head, revealing a face streaked with tears, her eyes red from crying and looking lostly at Nan Fei.
She seemed not to recognize her at first, but after blinking her eyes, she said incredulously, “Nan Fei? What are you doing here?”
