Chapter 823: Chapter 822 Report an Offense Chapter 823: Chapter 822 Report an Offense “Jiang Yang, come and play! Come quick.”
Jiang Yang completely ignored him.
So, Yu Yiji, the little boy, holding the candy he had won, scurried over to Jiang Yang, and said ingratiatingly, “Jiang Yang, this is the candy I won. I’m offering it to you.”
Jiang Yang reached out, pinched a piece of fruit candy in his palm, and slipped it into his own pocket.
“Get more, take more.” He hadn’t expected the kids here to be so generous, with more snacks than even the kids at school.
Jiang Yang pinched just one and then absolutely refused to take any more.
“I’m giving it to Sister Nan Fei, I don’t want it.”
Wei Qin explained, “Dear little Yu Yiji, Jiang Yang says it’s enough if he has one for his Sister Nan Fei. He doesn’t want anymore; you keep it for yourself.” He had found that this little brat really liked being complimented.
The thing he liked to hear most was that he was cute.
On hearing this, Yu Yiji immediately flashed a smile, showing his little white teeth, “Okay!” He stowed all the candies in his small shoulder bag and didn’t forget to start eating one right away.
Not far off, at the Wei family’s place, Tang Qian was busy cooking in the kitchen.
Wei Qin and Fang Yi hadn’t come home for several days. Just now, Fang Yi called to say he would be back for dinner tonight for a happy family gathering. The thought excited her; lots had happened at home lately.
She was aware that the way she’d driven Jiang Nanfei away last time was really inappropriate, and she’d regretted it a lot afterward.
Now she found herself the subject of whispers and disapproving glances around the big courtyard, making it embarrassing even to step outside. Apart from her younger son, who was still very close to her, neither her husband nor her older son understood her, which made her recent days quite difficult.
Now, finally having a chance to make amends and improve their relationships, she was determined to perform well and show off her cooking skills.
“The chicken soup must be well-stewed, and remember to skim off the layer of oil on top – Wei Qin doesn’t like it too greasy.”
“Also, make a seafood steamed egg; Wei An likes that.”
Busy in the kitchen, Tang Qian was directing the nanny, when she turned and saw Wei An staggering in through the window. Her face immediately darkened; what was Shufen doing all this time? She had insisted on picking up Wei An from school, so how come he was coming home alone now?
“Slow down, don’t run so fast. What if you fall?” Tang Qian hurried out of the kitchen, and as soon as she reached Wei An, she saw him crying, his face streaked with snot and tears. He looked so pitiable, his face red, as if someone had hit him.
Tang Qian’s heart suddenly felt as if it had been stabbed.
“What happened to you? Who hit you? Who bullied you? Tell me, quick!”
Wei An had already suffered a lot this year, and as his mother, she couldn’t let him be bullied without seeking revenge. After he had broken his arm, she had felt guilty for a long time. She vowed to protect him well, to not let him be bullied ever again.
The child she had fought so hard to bring into the world was not meant to be bullied by others.
“Mom, it hurts!” Wei An cried pitifully, nowhere near the little tyrant he used to be.
“Mom, you must avenge me. If even you won’t seek revenge for me, then I don’t want to live. If living just means being bullied and tormented by others, then what’s the point of living?”
While feeling distressed, Tang Qian also had a strange thought.
The things Wei An just said sounded so familiar to her; they seemed like the exact same words Dongxin had said before when Huo Beijiang wanted to break off their engagement, throwing a similar tantrum at home. Thinking further back, Shufen had also returned to her parental home crying every other day shortly after getting married.
Hadn’t she also complained in the same way back then?
It seems her older son was right; she couldn’t let this go on. Wei An was a boy, and spending all his time with Shufen, he was nearly becoming as shrewish as her.
PS: My dears, I’m so sorry! Today is a family birthday and I couldn’t write in time. I’ll make it up with a double update tomorrow! Kisses!
