Chapter 821 - Chapter 821 Chapter 820 A Walk
Chapter 821: Chapter 820: A Walk Chapter 821: Chapter 820: A Walk Jiang Yang sat obediently on the stone stool, propping his chin single-handedly and daydreaming.
Wei Qin, though seated in a chair, had a posture surprisingly identical to Jiang Yang’s. The tall and the short, both had handsome features and an elegant demeanor, exquisite and pretty. Even the angle at which they tilted their chins was exactly the same.
One sat high, the other low.
When Dai Yifan walked over from a distance, what he saw was this scene. He couldn’t help but stop to watch, secretly amazed, yet his face didn’t reveal anything.
Wei Qin caught sight of him from the corner of his eye and straightened up, flashing Dai Yifan a slight smile.
“So you’ve learned to take walks now?” Dai Yifan approached and sat down on the empty seat beside the chair, teasing, “That’s really something! In the past, seeing you was harder than anything, and now I run into you just taking a walk.”
“Are you really just out for a walk?” Wei Qin asked with a meaningful tone.
“Of course!” Dai Yifan nodded, reached out to ruffle Jiang Yang’s hair, and then said, “The walk is just a bonus; coming to see Jiang Yang is the real reason. Speaking of which, I really should thank you. The help you’ve given Jiang Yang and Nan Fei has been tremendous.”
“It’s nothing, no need to take it to heart,” Wei Qin responded coolly, flicking at non-existent dust on his knee. His tone was composed and measured as he said, “And there’s no need for you to thank me.”
“If there truly is a need to give thanks, there is a more suitable person.”
The implication was you’re not qualified to speak for Jiang Nanfei.
Dai Yifan was extremely astute and the two had known each other since childhood; he didn’t need to think to know what Wei Qin meant.
This Wei Qin was just like in their childhood, always cunning with others, but inexplicably protective of Huo Beijiang. Even now, he didn’t forget to support Huo Beijiang’s stance. One might think he and Huo Beijiang were the real brothers.
“My grandfather was Nan Fei’s teacher. When Nan Fei brought Jiang Yang to live in the compound, it was because of our Dai Family. Truth be told, if it weren’t for Aunt Tang making a scene and driving people out, Nan Fei would still be living comfortably in the compound right now!”
Hmph! Anyone can dish out sarcasm!
Wei Qin lifted the corners of his lips, his smile growing deeper, nodding in agreement, “You’re right! My mother indeed went too far.”
Jiang Yang, who had been daydreaming on the stone stool, suddenly looked up, his eyes sharp as he regarded Wei Qin, “Brother Wei Qin, are you talking about Tang Qian?”
“Yes!” Wei Qin answered seriously.
“Over the top!” Jiang Yang’s expression shifted slightly as he crinkled his little nose and said, “Very over the top.” It seemed the last encounter with Tang Qian had left a deep impression, making him quite dislike her.
“Hehehe…” Seeing Jiang Yang’s reaction, Wei Qin laughed pleasantly.
Regarding Wei Qin with the look one reserves for fools, Dai Yifan even reached out to feel his forehead, muttering to himself, “Strange! No fever! How come you’re spouting nonsense?”
“You…”
Little Wang couldn’t stand it any longer and interjected, “You’re the one with a fever! Wei Qin is in great health.”
“Yes, yes, yes…” Dai Yifan genuinely hoped Wei Qin was in good health, nodding repeatedly and also realizing how important robust health was for someone who was frequently ill.
But Wei Qin didn’t care about these things at all; he bent down to ask Jiang Yang, “Do you want to go play with them? You always look so happy when you watch a show.”
Jiang Yang shook his head earnestly, not wanting to seem like a little fool.
“Silly!”
Wei Qin couldn’t help chuckling, unavoidably saying, “Jiang Yang, you look like a fool in the eyes of other children.” It was just like when he was little; back then, only Huo Beijiang was different. He could still remember when Huo Beijiang, leading a group of children in wild play, came across him and said to the other kids.
