Leng Peixi’s head was filled with a roaring sound, everything turned blank, and she could no longer hear anything.
Just at that moment, the open playground suddenly erupted with noise. The sounds of footsteps, gunfire, car engines, shouts, fights all intertwined.
A Rong rushed over, pulling the dazed Leng Peixi away.

Imperial City —
“Nan Fei, why are you still awake?” He Shasha got up in the middle of the night to drink water and noticed that the study room light was still on and the door was wide open. Upon closer inspection, she saw that the room was filled with all sorts of mess: rice papers, paints, and various brushes.
She had no idea when Nan Fei had bought these.
Looking at Nan Fei, she was actually sitting in the leather chair in a daze.
“Nan Fei, are you excited because you’re registering for school tomorrow, and that’s why you can’t sleep?”
Nan Fei, who was in a trance, is snapped back to reality by He Shasha’s words. She glanced at He Shasha, “You think I’m like you?”
“Hehe…” He Shasha giggled awkwardly, “I am really excited, I never thought I would be able to go to university.” Considering that she spent five of the six years through middle and high school getting into fights.
She was almost expelled from school many times. If her family wasn’t wealthy, no school would have dared to take her in.
During these days, she’s met many old buddies who used to skip class together. Among them, she was the only one who managed to get into a prestigious university. The rest mostly chose to study abroad or attend some third-rate universities.
If they couldn’t make it outside, their only choice would be to return home and inherit the family property.
“You! Keep your distance from those old buddies.” Nan Fei interjected, “Since you’re entering the military academy, you must follow their rules. What were once considered minor mistakes can become major ones.”
“Oh!” The only voice He Shasha could listen to now was Nan Fei’s. She places the cup of water on the table, leaned onto the table with her elbow and peered into Nan Fei’s face.
“What are you doing?” Nan Fei was startled by her sudden interest and instinctively moved away.
“Are you thinking about Huo Beijiang? Did you have a fight with him?”
“No!” Nan Fei retorted defensively.
“Still in denial.” He Shasha rolled her eyes. “Ha! Women!”
“He Shasha, are you asking for a beating?”
“Ah, so I deserve a beating then! But could you beat me?”
“I’ll call Huo Beijiang to do it.”
He Shasha was visibly shocked. She widened her eyes and it took quite a while for her to spit out, “Finally, I understand the saying ‘Those who are not of the same family don’t enter the same door.’ You two really make a shameless pair.” How unfair this was to her!
“Alright, go to bed and don’t delay your registration tomorrow.”
“What about you?”
“I’m definitely going to bed too.”
As the two left the study, each heading back to their own rooms, a thought suddenly occurred to Nan Fei. “Wait! Regarding Leng Ran, who suddenly had to leave for Imperial City, where is she now? How come in these few days in Imperial City, I haven’t seen you trying to find her?”
At this, He Shasha didn’t even bother to return to her own room. She placed her hands on her hips and glared at Nan Fei, “Jiang Nanfei, am I your best friend or not? How can you worry about that annoying girl Leng Ran?”
“Hehe… when did I say you were my first best friend?” Nan Fei held back her laughter, in fact, she had just thought of it. After all, Leng Ran had left a deep impression on her. Despite being of a similar age, her maturity was significantly higher than that of her peers.
In fact, she really admired Leng Ran.
