Chapter 316: Chapter 316: Send a Photo_1 Chapter 316: Chapter 316: Send a Photo_1 “Wait and come back to write me a report!” Jiang Linzhang decisively hung up the phone.
Huo Beijiang leaned against the hallway wall, started making a call with his brows and eyes drooping.
Nan Fei was reading a book, leaning on the table in her room. Ever since coming back from the farmers market today, her parents had been nagging about the college entrance examination.
She also planned to go back to school tomorrow. Picking up things she had abandoned for over a decade was still difficult.
Jiang Yang was sitting across her, propping his chin with one hand, looking like a model student.
After having been held back for three years in a row, Jiang Yang was officially expelled from Xiao Wang Village Primary School.
After going through the drowning incident, his parents no longer forced him to study, so unlike before, they didn’t even beg the teachers and principal at school.
Their views happened to align with Nan Fei’s, that Jiang Yang wouldn’t learn anything if he went back to school but rather it would only add to his emotional damage.
The phone on the table suddenly rang.
Jiang Yang heaved a little sigh.
Nan Fei picked up the phone with a puzzled look, “Hello?”
“Wife, it’s me,” Huo Beijiang’s deep voice came from the phone.
“What is it? Is something wrong?”
“I miss you.”
She didn’t know why, but hearing his deep voice on the phone made her ears turn red.
Her heartbeat picked up; feeling unease she said, “Didn’t we just…just see each other this morning?”
“We didn’t kiss.”
Nan Fei attentively noticed his words lacked the usual bit of unscrupulous flirtatiousness.
“What’s the matter with you, Huo Beijiang? Did something happen?”
“I have to go back to the unit,” Huo Beijiang said languidly, and then regretfully added, “I wish I had kissed enough this morning.”
Afterward, he realized he misspoke and added, “No matter how many times, it’s not enough. Besides, I didn’t even get a chance this morning.”
Nan Fei’s cheeks flushed, both angry and embarrassed, “Huo Beijiang, can you be serious?”
She was worried about his safety but he was fooling around.
Huo Beijiang’s expression was far more serious than his words, “I am leaving, wife. Will you miss me?”
Nan Fei remained silent, her ears felt hot; she had never said these cheesy words in her two lifetimes.
“Will you?” The man was relentless, pushing her further.
“No…” Nan Fei was both embarrassed and angry. Under the clear gaze of her brother, she wanted to hang up immediately.
But just as her finger moved, about to end the call, she surprisingly found herself hesitating.
She returned the phone back to her ear, not allowing herself to be led on by his thoughts.
“Huo Beijiang, take care of yourself, be safe. Check the glove compartment of your car.”
After saying that, she hung up the phone, feeling a little quilty.
“Glove compartment…this girl’s move managed to get past me. She must have done it while I was getting out of the car last time! Good, she’s improved.”
Huo Beijiang muttered to himself and then suddenly reacted. He dashed downstairs.
Upon opening the car passenger door, in the glove compartment was a 4-inch photo.
The young maiden in the photo had a radiant smile, her bright and gleaming teeth made her look like an emerging lotus, incredibly pure and compelling.
The corner of Huo Beijiang’s lip curled up revealing a delightful smile. He took the photo and gently pressed a kiss on it.
“This girl, she’s really worth the love I’m giving. She proved she’s conscientious.”
This was the first time in his life that he had cared about someone this much, and it would be his only time in life.
As he looked at the photo murmuring softly, his eyebrows raised revealing a look vastly different from his usual flippant demeanor.
He was aloof, yet not indifferent.
“Boss, boss…” A roar of a car engine followed by Lu Jin’s shouts.
Lu Jin jumped out of the car, immediately shocked when he saw the scene.
“Boss, the captain actually sent me to pick you up, in your own car?”
“Shut up! Let’s go.” Huo Beijiang quickly put the photo into his inner pocket. He then got into the car, stepped on the gas, and the car shot out like an arrow.
Lu Jin followed right behind him.
Huo Kewei came rushing out of the restaurant, “Hey! My phone.”
Damn, it was a trick!
