Chapter 1037: Chapter 1036: Master of Drama Chapter 1037: Chapter 1036: Master of Drama “Dad, I’m back,” Fu Xinwu greeted Fu Yiming with a smile, as if he hadn’t noticed Jing Tong at all. He was also busy introducing Nan Fei to Fu Yiming without mentioning that she was his young auntie, because neither Fu Yiming nor the Huo family knew that Nan Fei and Bei Jiang had already registered their marriage.
So he simply said they were classmates and very good friends.
“Hello, Mr. Fu.” According to Fu Yiming’s age, she could have called him “Uncle Fu,” but the thought of him being Huo Beijiang’s brother-in-law made it impossible for Nan Fei to utter.
If she really ended up calling him that, it would infuriate Bei Jiang.
Nan Fei smiled as she handed over the prepared gift, saying with grace and propriety, “I’m sorry for disturbing you today, this is a little token of my appreciation, and I hope you like it.”
Fu Yiming glanced at the gift unobtrusively and saw that it was indeed valuable; the slight displeasure he initially felt vanished. He also understood that if his daughter brought someone home, it was probably out of guilt.
After all, she was just a young girl, and she looked even younger than Xin Wu, who couldn’t really cause any trouble.
“Come in, come in, have a seat,” Fu Yiming warmly called the guests in, turning around only to find Jing Tong shyly looking at him. That look in her eyes was exactly the same as when she was younger, which made him feel as if he had returned to his youthful days.
That was why Fu Yiming was willing to marry Jing Tong.
“Jing Tong, come over! Don’t just stand there,” Fu Yiming’s heart softened, thinking that his daughter was intentionally neglecting Jing Tong, putting her in an awkward position.
“Yiming,” Jing Tong gave Fu Yiming a pleasing smile, walked over to his side, looked at Fu Xinwu tenderly, and said with grace, “Xin Wu, hi there.” She then extended her hand.
Nan Fei, listening from the side, was about to vomit. She had really opened her eyes wide; the Oscars owed Jing Tong a statuette.
She still remembered how high and mighty Jing Tong and He Rongxi were when they came to her doorstep, so sharp and caustic. And now she had turned into a fragile little white flower, hurting the eyes. Did all men really like this act?
Xin Wu’s dad was nearly bewitched by Jing Tong to the point of losing his bearings.
Fu Xinwu looked down at Jing Tong’s offered hand with disdain, a flicker of disgust crossing his eyes and no intention to shake her hand.
The atmosphere immediately tensed.
Jing Tong looked towards Fu Yiming with tear-filled eyes, as though he was her everything, her support. Without Fu Yiming, she couldn’t live another minute.
Upon seeing Jing Tong like this, Fu Yiming felt both distressed and guilty. He turned to Fu Xinwu and started yelling, fiery eyes blaring, “Fu Xinwu, what the hell are you doing? Aunt Jing is trying to talk to you and you’re behaving like this? Where are all the manners and etiquette you learned from a young age? Did you feed them to the dogs?”
Fu Xinwu opened her eyes in disbelief, not expecting her father to speak to her like that.
She had always been pampered from a young age, Fu Yiming had never said a harsh word to her for so many years, and now, for a woman who seemingly appeared out of nowhere, he was treating her like this.
What about the future, if Jing Tong really became her stepmother?
Would she even have a place to stand? She feared Jing Tong might not yet know how to deal with her!
Moreover, if the friends from her circle found out she had such an embarrassing stepmother, how could she face anyone in the future?
“Let it be, Yiming, Xin Wu is still a child, don’t be hard on her. I’m not bothered, I believe I will win over Xin Wu in time.” Jing Tong took the initiative to mediate, seemingly speaking up for Fu Xinwu, yet actually using Fu Xinwu to highlight her own grievance.
