"Taiguo, you came back so early today? No training?" Qi Fenglian asked.

"Taiguo, who is this person?" Mother Qi noticed the pretty woman behind Qi Taiguo, giving her a thorough once-over.

Dressed so nicely, shoes so high, and even her hair is curled. Clearly, she’s from the city. Who is she?

"Old Lady Qi, Big Sister Qi, good day. I’m a military doctor in Commander Qi’s troop, called Chiang Qing, just moved in today!" Chiang Qing didn’t wait for Qi Taiguo to introduce her, as she smiled and introduced herself.

Mother Qi and Qi Fenglian exchanged glances and asked Qi Taiguo, "A military doctor, is that a doctor?"

Chiang Qing laughed out loud, Doctor, that’s something only country folks would say, right?

Qi Taiguo said, "Yes, that’s a doctor. Mom, Big Sister, I was just helping them settle in. Tonight our troop is having a welcome party, so I won’t be back for dinner. Could you pass the message to Susu?"

"Doctor Chiang, let’s go," Qi Taiguo called to Chiang Qing.

"Hey, this woman seems to really like our Taiguo," Mother Qi remarked, watching Chiang Qing speak to Qi Taiguo.

Qi Fenglian pursed her lips and said, "I think she’s not paying any attention to propriety. Taiguo is already married; she’s coming on so close to him. What does that look like? Far too immodest."

Mother Qi was startled and looked over. Indeed, Chiang Qing was almost clinging to Taiguo’s side.
