Back For My Daughter
Chapter 166 - 166: Spirit Stove Technique

In the old man's shop, the three of them had already woken up, and there seemed to be no sign of them thinking about what had happened to them just a while ago.

Seeing this, Ye Qian nodded and smiled at the old man.

"Hey, young man, you're here! I thought you weren't going to come today," the old man called out.

Ye Qian had told him yesterday that he would come to the shop with his wife and daughters, but after waiting all day, the old man had assumed that Ye Qian had forgotten.

So he was about to close the shop when the men in masks entered the store, since there was no one in the street. But this memory was removed from the old man's mind.

Seeing Ye Qian smile at him, the old man stood up with newfound energy.

He didn't know why, but he was could feel that he had turned a few years younger than before now. As for the reason, this was just some reminiscent effect of the Silver Glow.

He walked over and saw two little girls giggling behind his granddaughter. He understood that they must be Ye Qian's daughters.

He nodded at Ye Qian and patted Xiao Ya's head.

"Xiao Ya, see, the uncle has brought some friends for you," he said, smiling and turning her around.

Seeing the two new people, the little girl was a bit shy at first and greeted them clumsily.

"Hello, I'm Xiao Ya," she said, her eyes moving constantly in her shyness.

"Oh, since when did Xiao Ya become a shy little girl?" the old man chuckled, seeing how different her behavior was from her normal behavior.

"Humph, grandpa, don't say that about me. I'm always like this," the little girl pouted and said angrily, pointing her finger at the old man.

"Hahaha," Ye Qian and the old man laughed, seeing her sudden change in behavior.

"So, young man, are you here to buy something today as well?" the old man asked, not wanting to disturb the little girls' meeting.

"Yes, some problems occurred before, so we weren't able to come here," Ye Qian said, smiling.

The old man smiled after hearing him and waved his hand.

"Don't worry, since you're here, everything is fine."

He walked over to the counter and started to take some meat that was cut a few hours ago.

"Yeah, give me about two chickens, one kilogram of pork, and with that, the usual soup meat that you gave me yesterday, and just double all that," Ye Qian said, since there were many people for dinner today compared to yesterday.

"Oh, seems like you have a few people for dinner?" the old man raised his eyebrows after hearing all the things Ye Qian wanted.

"Yes, there are a few guests, and my parents have also arrived," Ye Qian answered with a smile.

"Oh, so it's a big party, I think," the old man nodded and started to pick up the meat required for soup first.

After packing it, he asked Ye Qian, "So what are the things you need to cook? I'll give you the meat according to that, or it might be too little or too much."

"Hmm," Ye Qian nodded and remembered what he was going to make when he told Yuan Meng, Ning Wei, and his mom to make preparations.

"Yes, we're going to make some fried rice with chicken, some pepper-fried chicken, some Sichuan Noodles, and the soup."

"And maybe for about 20 people," Ye Qian added a few more, knowing that since he would be making food with the Spirit Stove Technique, the food was bound to be less than enough to make everyone full.

He knew that the old man would only give him meat for 12 people if he were to count everyone in the house, but he didn't dare to take it. Even the little girls would eat more than a normal adult, much less with Yuan Meng, Ning Wei, Lan'er, and her friends still around.

He would never feel good if they were still hungry, and there was not enough food on the table for everyone to eat. With his immortal body, he could live without food and water for months without feeling any sense or need to eat. But this was not the same for the others.

With the Spirit Stove Technique and their bodies not yet mended into that of at least a cultivator of a Chi Gathering, Human Realm Cultivator, they would need a huge amount of food and other nutrition to make their bodies strong.

The Spirit Stove Technique would burn up all the unnecessary things from the food, with the help of the Spirit Flame used in the cooking, and burn all things that were of no use. The stomach would then act like a reactor where all the food was dumped, but only the necessary minuscule things were used by the body.

So if you were to eat 10 Kg of food, you would only get 2 or 3 percent of the required nutrition while the rest would be burned away without any trace, leaving the stomach empty. That was the real reason why even the two little girls, Qiqi and Jia, had increased their appetites so much.

Since the fire was still in their stomachs, even if they ate normal food, they would still need to eat about four times their normal amount, though it would seem less since the fire was not in the food.

To put it in perspective, when the whole family ate at the mall, the food they ate at the KFC was way less than the food they ate when they were at Grandma's Kitchen Restaurant.

This could be used as a statement as to how even a bit of Spirit Stove would affect one's diet and body.
