Chapter 131 - 131: Ignorance Is Bliss

At the road opposite the IMAP mall, a bunch of hoodlums were standing in an arc with two in the middle of them.

If Yu Lan and the other girls were here, they might have recognized one of them.

One of them was the Young Master of the big Le family of the Star City, Le Yun.

But they might not know the other guy who had a smile on his face and looked like he was sucking up to Le Yun.

Le Yun was now alone with the thugs, his friends Wang Feng, Jun and the other guys left after they came out saying they needed some work to do.

Le Yun sneered and thought about how that Wang Feng was still trying to make him angry when he went away, he knew there must be some reason for him to flame him so much, but he didn't care, that brat must know whom he went against and pay for the consequences.

Le Yun thought and took the pack of cigarettes from his pocket and took one while lightly playing it between his lips.

The leader of the thugs bowed and took a lighter from his pocket and lit it while bringing it to Le Yun's cigarette.

The cigarette lit while Le Yun continued to take a few puffs and narrowed his eyes.

As he took the second drag he saw Yu Lan and the other girls rushing out with the woman whom he saw at the ladies' shop.

"Come, let's go, that brat will be coming out soon."

He called the thugs and jumped off the car.

They were just walking past the road when the signal turned red and many cars rushed onto the road.

This was the busy hour of Saturday and many people were going out to spend their weekends so it was a lot of traffic than the usual days.

But that time was enough for Yu Lan and the other to stop two taxis and enter one and tell something to the other taxi driver.

Soon the first taxi drove off while Ye Qian walked with Ning Wei while carrying a young woman.

"Is that Xiao Ya?

Le Yun sneered while seeing the girl in Ye Qian's arms.

He had always known that there was some reason for this Xiao Ya to suddenly behave so intimate with him, but he won't let a free pie slip off his hand so he would always get near her knowing she would never reject him.

Often times he had seen disgust and anger in her eyes but she never said anything.

The red light at the pole turned green but as Le Yun and the thugs walked to the middle of the road and just a few meters away, he saw Ye Qian and Ning Wei get in the taxi as they quickly drove off.

They tried to run but were not able to catch up before the taxi started and they reached late.

"F*ck."

Le Yun cursed and threw his cigarette away and stomped it in anger.

He cursed a few more times before kicking the pole beside him before even his own feet started to hurt.

"Master Le, that brat is one hell of a lucky b@stard for sure, we were just a hairbreadth away from him."

The leader panted and sneered.

"Let him be, how long can he run, a few days at most, later he will be in my hands for sure and that woman as well."

"The more I can see him shiver in fear and trying to run away from me, the more I will enjoy it."

Le Yun's lips curled into a devilish grin as he thought of Yuan Meng.

"Yes yes Master Le, will for sure have his sweet revenge soon, and we will be more than happy to be able to be of some help for Young Master Le, it will be our honour."

The gang leader continued to bootlick Le Yun while oblivious of something he might have never known.

What they thought was the complete opposite of what might have really happened if they might have been successfully able to stop Ye Qian.

First Ye Qian would not let them waste his time as the girl in his arms was already dying from the pain much less he might feel sorry for these few thugs.

He might have just slapped these people away not caring whether they live or die.

But that was not known by these people and instead of celebrating the thing that they had just passed beside the devil unharmed, they were even thinking about the day when he was in front of them.

This is the perfect situation for the saying.

"Ignorance Is Bliss."

Meanwhile, Ye Qian was sitting with closed eyes trying to help Xiao Ya as much as he could to ease the pain she was suffering.
