Awakening to a Special-Grade Explorer -
Vol. 4 - Ch. 146 - A Short Interlude
Tenji snickered seeing the stunned expression of Mister. It was probably the first time he got to see up close how an ordinary person actually sees an explorer. And that was quite amusing to say the least.
"Ah, well. Explorers usually just don't display their power."
“Certainly. I have only caught their glimpse in the news and internet, but this, how to put it......looking at first-hand looks more astounding and...different."
"You don't need to mince your words. I also consider explorers to be someone far removed from the general notion of human you know. Don't you think so, Mister?"
"......Well, frankly yeah. So I am not needed huh, then if you can take it below."
"Roger~. But I will take my lemonade as rightful compensation, got it?"
"I know. Man, you sure like the Lemonade here huh."
"Delicious things are welcome anytime, anywhere after all."
"Haha, you sure are one frank japanese."
Finishing his conversation with Mister and with Lemonade in line, Tenji worked in earnest and carried the furniture to the first floor, and then carried all them to the load-carrying tray of trucks.
With his intervention, the moving process, which was supposed to take about three days, was completed in less than a day. Mister handled all the packing of small items while Tenji moved them all in one full swoop, thus shortening the time.
Creatures called Explorer were like the piece of puzzle that each one brought more complexity to the present world. As a matter of fact, there were even some religious groups that had sprang up, hailing explorers as the 'God' or 'High-Human'. Of course, the unknown also brought fear among the ordinary people and it was rather a common site for masses to start a boycott movement.
There were many more shady organisations who used 'supermen' in the form of explorers for labour, and some straight illegal auctions where they were put for sale as slaves.
The world until now had been dominated by the species known as 'humans.' While various differences existed, they were considered small variations that could be dismissed as errors.
However, explorers were different. They created differences among humans to an extent that couldn't be expressed by the simple term 'human.' With their unique abilities, even a single one possessed the strength to potentially instigate wars on their own.
When the capricious 'human' nature met an uncertain 'explorer', it goes without saying they wouldn't see eye to eye. There had been a lot of people who simply were in a dilemma on how to treat them or strike a conversation with them.
However, having talked with Tenji, Mister contemplated there was no need for those narrow-minded thoughts. Atleast, he could say confidently they were just as human as they were seeing Tenji drinking the Lemonade he made with relish.
"How is it?"
"That's...the bestest! Will you open a shop again in Mallorca?"
"Well, that's for later when the kid is born and the initial phase of childcare is over. Then I will come back here again,"
"Is that so? That's a relief to hear. So, when will you be leaving?"
"A friend of mine will be coming here eight days later to help out, so I guess I will be spending my days quietly in this empty house until then."
"I see. Then, till we meet somewhere again!"
Tenji said as he flashed a bright smile. Seemingly influenced by that innocuous smile of the youngster in before him, Mister smiled in the same way.
