Awakening to a Special-Grade Explorer
Vol. 4 - Ch. 139 - A brand new grade of calling

The barrage of questions without any prior warning caught Tenji by surprise. Though, he quickly realised all of these were things he needed for his calling analysis, regained his composure and started answering them while making himself comfortable on the seat.

Kujira Mui started with some casual questions for the starter, but as Chisato briefly explained the overview of calling, Kujira immediately showed interest in weapons and hell beasts.

After he was done explaining that, too, he was then equipped with a machine that covered the entirety of his body which was equipped with devices to measure heart rate and other parameters etc. Subsequently, he was asked to run and jump in the arranged small physical measurement area there. The analysis basically covered all the data in far more detail compared to the time of association's licence issuance, quickly measuring everything and output them as visible numbers.

Once everything was over, which should have taken around three hours, Tenji was back on his seat facing Kujira.

Chisato and Fuyuki were doing whatever they liked behind him, while Kujira was staring at the numbers and graphs on the monitor with extreme intensity. Well, even when everything was right before his eyes, it was like a pearl to swine, but that data seemed crucial to Kujira.

"I will dispatch a detailed analysis another day but......but I basically got everything under my grasp."

Tenji also got used to her not-so-gal-like-speech despite dressing herself as one after going through her questioning and all. He just nodded along as if he understood and waited for her to continue.

Hearing that she got the result, the drowsy expression of two behind immediately shifted to a serious one. Both of them were similarly curious about Tenji's result. 'Haa', Kujira exhaled as she took off the glasses she had put on when she started with the analysis and put them on the desk. She then turned her body towards Tenji, leaning back against the backrest of the chair.

"You're currently marked 5th grade in your licence, right?"

"Yes, it has been like this since the beginning."

"Man, you really know how to fool others. Your current parameters are enough to put you on 1st grade explorer if you renew it now. A growth rate to this extent in just half an year of duration is truly abnormal, to a certain extent."

Kujira grumbled as she pointed at all the numbers and graphs shown on the monitor and spoke about the result.

"I am not gonna claim it to be 100% correct since I only had the data of 0th grade explorer Fuyuki-kun, President, and oh, Aubaraka but......I bet my money your job to be that."

"What do you mean by that?"

Tenji asked as he swallowed nervously.

"It's of course that... an entirely new grade of calling, above the known 0th grade. But goodness, the world is so wide yet you would also find treasure hidden under your nose eh."

"You have figured that much?"

"Because it's me, after all. There is just me, and one more researcher, who possibly has the huge data about calling rolling on their palm. I compared all the data available and your growth rate is clearly a cut—several grades above the rest. Or to put in one word, the word 'anomaly' fits the bill here."

Tenji had to admit, the researcher called Kujira was far more talented than he had imagined. Maybe, she would be able to help him out in getting to the bottom of his special grade calling or hell beasts as long as he lets her handle it? Tenji had started harbouring such expectations.

He wasn't wrong, for she had managed to deduce something beyond the measurement conducted during the association's licence process...and all of it in just mere three hours. It would have been a fool's call to not admit Kujira's wealth of knowledge and the vast data at her discretion.
