Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me -
Chapter 152: A Day With Family
After getting in the car, Daniel first put all the talismans into his inventory. Then he turned on his phone.
He replied to Joe first, telling him how he'd spent the past month in the Celestial Domain. Then he checked the time.
He had been so caught up in that simulation room that he had completely forgotten about his sister and Tiana. The academy would close in ten minutes, and he had to go pick them up right away.
Without wasting any time, he started the car and headed toward the academy. It didn't take long for him to get there. From a distance, he could already tell that the students were scattered around the academy entrance, waiting for their families, while some had already left.
When he spotted Alice and Tiana, he drove up to them and honked the horn.
"Need a handsome driver?"
"Hmph, do you even know how long we've been standing here? Why are you so late?" Alice grumbled and got in the car.
Tiana laughed when she heard Daniel calling himself handsome and also got in the car.
"I got a bit busy in the Awakened Association and totally forgot about you two," he said with a shrug.
"You forgot us? I'm your sister! What could possibly be more important than coming to pick me up?" Alice whined.
Daniel burst out laughing and gave her cheeks a good pinch. His sister let out a short squeal, pulled her face away, and covered her cheeks with both hands.
She didn't say anything and just puffed her cheeks, staring out the window.
Seeing her like that made Daniel laugh even more, and then he started driving. One of the best parts of having a sister was that you had someone you could annoy as much as you wanted.
Instead of heading home right away, Daniel first took them to an ice cream shop—Alice's favorite one, actually.
"Tiana, what kind of ice cream do you like?" he asked before getting out of the car.
"Oh? I like chocolate."
Daniel nodded and stepped out without even glancing at Alice or asking her anything.
"What? Why didn't he ask me?" Alice muttered softly, a bit hurt.
Why didn't her brother ask her what flavor she wanted? Was he upset with her? Or maybe he just ignored her and brought them here just for Tiana?
'Could it be that my brother likes my friend?' she thought, casting a sulky glance at Tiana.
For a second, she felt like maybe she should've never brought Tiana to their house, but she pushed that thought away immediately.
"What are you thinking about?" Daniel's voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Vanilla with chocolate syrup?" Alice turned around, and when she saw her brother holding her favorite flavor, her eyes lit up.
"Yeah…? Why'd you say it like that, though?"
"Hehe, never mind, just give it to me." Alice took the ice cream from her brother. Daniel didn't think too much about it and handed the other one to Tiana.
Of course, he had also bought one for himself. He got back in the car, and after they finished their ice cream, they hit the road again—this time toward home.
Once they arrived, Daniel parked the car in the garage. The three of them went upstairs and into their apartment.
"We're home, Mom!" Alice entered first, dropped her bag on the floor, and flopped onto the couch.
"I've told you a thousand times, your bag belongs in your room," Liana said as she turned from the TV to face her daughter—only to be met with a scene she wasn't happy about.
"I'm tired, Mom. Why don't you tell my brother to take my bag to my room instead?"
"Why should I? It's your bag, you take it," Daniel said with a chuckle and pinched her cheeks again.
"Hi, Auntie," Tiana greeted, doing her best not to laugh at the scene.
"Hello, Tiana dear. Put your bag in the room and come back down—lunch is ready. And as for you, Alice, no lunch until your bag is in your room," Liana said firmly and headed to the kitchen.
Alice grumbled in frustration, but in the end, she took her bag to her room. They changed clothes and came back to the living room to sit at the dining table.
"So, tell me—how was your day?" Liana asked while serving lunch for the three of them.
Alice and Tiana talked about what had happened at the academy. There wasn't really anything special.
Their classes were over, and they only had two exams today—one practical and one oral. The oral exam took about an hour and a half, but the practical one lasted nearly four hours.
"Luckily, we don't have any exams tomorrow. It's a rest day."
Tiana nodded as well. She really didn't like exams and didn't even understand the logic behind them.
Why should she have to prove to someone else that she had learned something?
"Since all of you are here, I wanted to say something. I'm going back to the Celestial Domain tonight," Daniel suddenly said.
"Again? It hasn't even been a full day since you came back!" Alice and Liana both frowned.
"There are things I need to take care of over there. I can't ignore them."
What a joke. There was no way he could let something happen to Andreas. Sure, Andreas was a Lionheart, and the chance of anything bad happening to him was low…
But nothing was guaranteed. The elves might lose patience and attack like lunatics. If something happened to Andreas, there was no way Daniel could get into the Thousand Treasures House auction.
He absolutely couldn't afford to miss that opportunity. That auction meant a lot to him. If he got lucky, he might even find new armor.
"But you were gone for almost a month. What if you disappear again for another whole month? What about the court? Are you going to leave us alone again?" Alice said suddenly, sadness and frustration in her voice.
"Don't be stupid. That was just a one-time thing. This time it won't take more than a few days. Trust me—I won't miss the court date," Daniel flicked her forehead and replied.
"Ugh… We can't really stop you, son. But at least be careful. And if it's going to take long, give us some updates so we don't worry," Liana sighed.
"I promise, Mom," Daniel said with a smile.
After that, they had lunch, and Daniel spent the rest of the day with them. He even took all three of them to a fancy restaurant for dinner.
When they returned home, the three ladies decided to watch some TV. Daniel said goodbye and went to his room.
It was time to return to the Celestial Domain.
