Chapter 118: Becoming Rich Again

"I wasn’t expecting this," Daniel said as he entered the Undead’s treasure chamber.

Honestly, the stash was beyond anything he had imagined—filled with silver and gold coins, and various items including offensive and defensive equipment.

"These are all the things we’ve taken from humans over the years," Velmord said as he entered behind him.

Daniel nodded and walked forward. The room wasn’t exactly massive, but you couldn’t call it small either—probably around 100 meters wide.

"With all this, my finances are gonna be full again," Daniel grinned and started collecting all the gold and silver coins, placing them in his inventory.

As for the items? Most of them were useless to him—mostly D and C-ranked, nothing that caught his eye.

He searched a bit, hoping he might find a decent sword or spear among them, but unfortunately, the answer was no.

"As expected," Daniel sighed. Most of the people the Undead captured were below B-rank, so it made sense that there were no high-grade items among the loot.

He could take the weapons and sell them to the Awakened Association, but honestly, the total value wouldn’t even reach a million Zen—and besides, it’d fill up his inventory.

"Imagine being so financially stable that a million Zen means nothing to me anymore," Daniel laughed out loud.

After that, they left the chamber and returned to the humans. Daniel first canceled Velmord’s summon and then started freeing each of the people one by one.

"Thank you so much for your help!"

"If it wasn’t for you, we would’ve definitely died!" they all bowed to Daniel and spoke with deep respect and admiration.

Some of them had been trapped here for years, with no hope of ever getting out. Most had just been wishing for death to escape the pain.

Who would’ve thought fate would smile at them and send someone to rescue them?

"You’re welcome," Daniel nodded.

After that, they started asking him all kinds of questions—what year it was, what had happened to the Undead, whether all of them were really dead or not.

Daniel answered what he could and also pulled a few water bottles from his inventory and handed them out.

It took a little while for their minds to calm down from the fear and chaos.

"I’ve got things to do. If you want, I can guide you to the mountain’s exit," Daniel turned to them and said.

They all looked at each other and nodded. None of them wanted to stay in this cursed mountain for even another second.

When they first came here, they thought they’d find items and treasures, make a name for themselves, become legends.

But who could’ve imagined getting trapped like this? Many of them didn’t even know what had happened to their families and were deeply worried.

Daniel took the lead and motioned for them to follow. The path was a bit twisted and steep, but fortunately, the exit wasn’t too far away.

Especially since, with the help of the skeletal skull’s directions, they found a shortcut and saved a lot of time.

Finally, after about half an hour, they reached the mountain’s entrance—the same place Daniel had entered from.

"You can leave from here. It took me about an hour to reach this place from the Free Zone," Daniel pointed and explained.

It had taken him and Vorak an hour, but these people were mostly D and C-rank climbers, so it would probably take them around two hours to reach the Free Zone.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Hero! Without you, we’d be dead by now!"

"If you ever come to the Crimson Moon Kingdom, please visit the capital! My dad runs a restaurant there—I promise we’ll treat you to the best meal you’ve ever had!"

They all thanked him again and left the mountain. Daniel just smiled—helping people wasn’t so bad after all.

"Hm? You’re not leaving?" He noticed that three figures, unlike the others, hadn’t left the mountain and were still standing there.

"Ah, sorry, we didn’t get to talk properly in all that chaos... The truth is, we can’t leave the mountain," the one standing in the middle said after glancing at the other two.

"Oh? You can’t leave? What do you mean?" Daniel raised an eyebrow as he looked at the handsome boy in front of him.

The boy had short, neat black hair and striking ocean-blue eyes. Unlike the others Daniel had rescued, this guy had an air of nobility around him.

Daniel then looked more closely at the other two—a relatively tall girl with pink hair and a pretty face, though her expression was serious.

The other was a boy with black hair too, but shorter than the girl and with an average-looking face at best.

The first boy scratched the back of his head, clearly unsure about speaking.

"If you’re not gonna say anything, then I guess it’s none of my business. Take care," Daniel shrugged and turned to leave.

But the boy reached out and put a hand on Daniel’s shoulder to stop him—so Daniel grabbed his arm and slammed him into the ground.

"Young Master!" the girl and the other boy shouted and immediately went on alert.

"You better have a good explanation," Daniel pulled out his sword and placed it at the boy’s neck, speaking in a cold tone.

His voice alone made all three of them feel like their bones were rattling.

"I—I’m sorry, sir! I didn’t mean any harm... I just want to ask for your help," the boy said quickly, with a hint of fear in his voice.

"I’m listening," Daniel said, seeing he wasn’t lying, and stepped back, letting him go.

The boy got up and started panting heavily—clearly, Daniel’s sudden move had shaken him.

More than that, now he was looking at Daniel with fear—and even respect. Daniel’s reaction speed had been so fast, he hadn’t even realized what had happened.

Now he understood how the man in front of him had slaughtered the entire clan of Undeads

"Sir, let me introduce myself first. I’m Andreas Lionheart."
