Chapter 116: Massacring A Clan
Chapter 116: Massacring A Clan
Daniel floated in the air, calm and expressionless, holding the skull in his hand as he stared at the undead army below.
"Ah, my friends..." The skull sighed. Many of his companions had been slaughtered in mere moments by this human.
Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do for them. At best, he could mourn their loss.
Daniel didn’t have the patience to take down each and every undead soldier one by one. So, he raised his hand to form a weapon from mana and launch it toward them.
’Can I make a bomb out of mana too?’ He paused for a moment as an interesting idea came to his mind.
He’d never tried it before, so he wasn’t sure. But just as he had previously created swords using mana, he now imagined a volatile and explosive mass of energy in his mind—and shaped it with mana.
"Hope this works," he muttered and sent the mana orb toward the undead.
Boom! Boom!
To his surprise, it exploded. The blast wasn’t overly powerful, but it was at least acceptable.
Without hesitation, Daniel began forming more mana bombs and launching them toward the undead.
Boom! Boom!
The explosions rang out one after another, their echo sending shivers down the spines of the humans with blindfolds over their eyes.
What were those sounds? What was happening out there? Their minds were filled with questions—but there were no answers.
Meanwhile, a defensive barrier had formed around the lich, shielding it from the blast of the mana bombs.
"Ah... forgive me, my dear friends..." The skull in Daniel’s hand wished it could cry, but it had no tears.
All his friends were being slaughtered—and he was the one who had brought this tragedy upon his own clan.
It didn’t take long before all the undead—except the lich—were destroyed. System notifications popped up one after another in Daniel’s mind. He ignored most of them, except for a few at the end.
[Ding... You have successfully reached Rank C.]
[Congratulations on reaching Rank C.]
[All of your stats have increased.]
[Your limit of Fallen has increased from 10 to 50.]
[You have obtained your third innate skill: Fallen Step.]
"Oh? Another innate skill?" Daniel blinked and tapped on the skill description with curiosity.
So far, he had two innate skills: Crimson Judgment and Fallen Will. Now, luckily, he had acquired another one.
[Name: Fallen Step]
[Rank: A]
[Description: With each step, you can teleport to the location of one of your Fallen.]
Daniel’s eyebrows rose as he read the description. His eyes lit up—it was a highly practical skill, and it could be a massive help.
After that, he closed the notifications and shifted his focus to the lich. With the increased limit on the number of Fallen, it was time to add a new one.
He descended to the ground and approached the lich, placing the skull gently to the side so it wouldn’t get in the way of the fight.
"Still hiding?" His gaze landed on the skeleton in a red robe, shielded inside a defensive dome.
"You lowly human! Who do you think you are?! How dare you ruin my grand ritual!" the lich shouted in rage upon seeing Daniel.
He had spent countless years preparing for this moment—and now, it had all been destroyed in an instant. His only chance at returning to life had been obliterated...
"No more whining. You coming out, or do I have to drag you out myself?"
"Heh, you think you can? Then why not try?" the lich sneered mockingly.
Daniel ignored him and threw a powerful punch at the dome.
Crack!
"Huh?" The lich flinched as a huge crack appeared on the barrier.
Now, a mocking smirk spread across Daniel’s face. He threw another strong punch.
Crack! Boom!
The dome shattered completely, and the lich quickly leapt back several steps—but not fast enough. Daniel stepped forward and appeared right in front of him, slamming a heavy punch into his skull.
The lich was sent flying dozens of meters, crashing into the wall of his fortress. The wall—made entirely of bones—crumbled under the impact.
"You foolish human! Enough playing around! Let me show you a glimpse of my true power!" Liches felt no pain, so naturally, the blow hadn’t hurt—but that didn’t mean he would let it go.
"Go ahead. I want to see if you’re even worthy of becoming one of my Fallen."
[Death Threads]
"Huh? Interesting." Suddenly, skeletal hands burst from the ground, grabbing Daniel’s legs tightly.
He didn’t resist. He stood still, waiting to see what the lich would do next. Just as he expected, the lich activated his next skill.
[Curse of the Burning Soul]
The lich raised his hands, conjuring several black masses of energy in the air. They looked like dark clouds—clearly real, but somehow surreal.
"Haha! Taste my power, human!" he laughed as he hurled all the black masses toward Daniel.
[Royal Barrier] Daniel frowned and activated his defensive skill.
But strangely, the black energy passed straight through the Royal Barrier and struck Daniel’s body—being absorbed into it.
[Warning! Warning!]
[Your spiritual power is decreasing!]
"So that’s how it works," Daniel’s frown deepened. It seemed like it was time to stop playing around.
He moved his legs, shattering the skeletal hands gripping them.
[Light Of Drstruction]
Suddenly, beams of destructive light shot from his eyes toward the lich.
"What the hell is that?!" The lich felt a massive wave of danger approaching. He tried to escape—but it was too late.
The beams hit him directly. His bones began to crack and shatter, the annihilation energy consuming them one by one, leaving nothing behind.
"You’ll pay for this, human!" the lich roared. He could tell his end was near—but he wouldn’t go down quietly. He needed to make this human suffer. This human had ruined everything!
[Final breath of Death]
Sacrificing the rest of his mana, soul, and remaining death energy, the lich released a massive wave of death toward Daniel—destroying himself completely in the process.
"This is dangerous." Daniel’s danger sense spiked instantly.
