Chapter 110: Another Drama

"Can I come in?"

A few seconds passed, but no voice answered him.

Daniel frowned a little. Could something have happened to his sister?

Without hesitation or doubt, he opened the door and stepped in. To his surprise, the room was empty.

"Alice?"

He searched the entire room but couldn’t find anyone. The room was completely empty, aside from him.

"This...?"

The window was open, and when he looked outside through it, he noticed the ladder—which should normally be closed—was actually extended.

"Damn it."

He immediately pulled out his phone and called Alice.

The phone rang, but no one answered. He called several times, but still got no response.

Without delay, he summoned Vorak.

"My sister’s gone. Track her down," Daniel ordered firmly, and Vorak immediately began sniffing around the room.

The trail led to the window. Vorak pointed to it, and Daniel nodded.

Vorak jumped out the window and took off following the scent trail. Daniel jumped out right after him.

After Daniel’s stat increase, his speed had also risen drastically—if he ran at full speed, even regular people wouldn’t be able to see him.

Still, to be safer, he told Vorak to run through the shadows and stay out of sight. He himself flew above Vorak to avoid drawing attention.

It didn’t take long before they arrived at a park. The scent trail ended there. Daniel, floating above the park, released his spiritual senses and scanned the entire area.

Thankfully, he did manage to find his sister—but she wasn’t alone.

Daniel frowned slightly and landed on the ground. He canceled Vorak’s summoning and walked toward them.

His sister and another beautiful girl were sitting against a tree.

"Having some alone time?"

His voice caught their attention as Alice was wiping the other girl’s face with a tissue.

Alice turned at the sound of her brother’s voice, shocked to see him. How did he find her?

"Who—who are you?" The other girl, startled, jumped to her feet.

"Relax. I’m Alice’s brother," Daniel said calmly. But when he looked at the girl’s face, he froze—her face was covered in injuries.

And he recognized her. If he wasn’t mistaken, her name was Tiana, right? The same friend of Alice’s he had saved in the dungeon.

"Alice’s brother?"

Tiana was still scared and looked to Alice for confirmation.

"Don’t worry, he really is my brother," Alice sighed and tried to calm her friend.

"What are you doing here? How did you even find me?" she then turned to Daniel and asked.

"What am I doing here? Of course I’m looking for you. What do you expect me to do when I walk into your room and you’re gone?" Daniel took his eyes off Tiana and looked at his sister.

"You entered my room without permission?" Alice glared at him.

Daniel just shrugged.

"You!"

Alice was about to yell at him when suddenly Tiana’s giggles caught both their attention.

"Why are you laughing?"

"It’s nothing. It’s just the first time I’ve seen something like this... Anyway, you’re Mr. Daniel, right? I’m Tiana," she turned toward Daniel and introduced herself.

"Daniel is enough. Now, what happened?" Daniel said, and his expression became more serious.

When he had saved Tiana, her face was injured—but it had been even worse than now. He was sure the healers from the Awakened Association had completely healed her.

So what’s going on now?

Alice and Tiana exchanged looks. Tiana clenched her fists under her skirt—clearly scared.

"We better tell him. Don’t worry, even if he looks like some shameless playboy, he’s actually a good guy," Alice told her.

"Who are you calling a shameless playboy?" Daniel wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry.

Tiana nodded and agreed, and Alice started explaining everything to Daniel.

It turned out that Tiana came from one of those upper-class families—extremely traditional and strict. Since she was a child, they had done everything they could to increase her chances of awakening and getting a powerful class.

How? By force-feeding her every ridiculous herbal or magical potion advertised online or on TV.

After she successfully awakened and even received a high-tier class, things didn’t get better for her—they got worse.

Her family became even stricter. They sent her to endless extra lessons, restricted her social life, and wouldn’t let her associate with people they considered talentless or worthless.

Worse, they pressured her to always be the number one student in the academy.

All these limitations and intense control eventually led to serious mental health issues for Tiana. As a result, she grew to hate being awakened and became terrified of dungeons.

But she never dared tell her family—until yesterday, after Daniel saved them. While at the hospital, she told her parents she didn’t want to be an awakened anymore.

She just wanted a normal life, without trouble or fear.

Her parents didn’t react much at the hospital, only saying they’d talk about it at home. But when they got home, they beat her severely.

In the end, Tiana couldn’t take it anymore. She used her powers to defend herself and unintentionally hurt her parents. In that state, she ran away and contacted Alice.

"I see... Yeah, that’s rough," Daniel looked at Tiana and said bluntly.

"Hey! You shouldn’t say it like that," Alice glared at him.

"It’s fine. Your brother’s right," Tiana sighed. She knew herself how miserable things had become.

But what could she do? They were her parents—she couldn’t run from them forever.

Daniel closed his eyes to think. He hadn’t expected to get involved in this kind of drama.

If he wanted to help this girl, it would mean getting involved in serious legal and political issues. It could even become dangerous.

The laws in this world didn’t mess around—unless you were a high-ranking official in the government or the National Federation...

"So, what are you planning to do now?"

He opened his eyes and asked Tiana. Better to know what her plan was first.

In the end, everything depended on this girl, and he couldn’t force her.
