Chapter 87: Children? Uhh...

As Helena looked through those names, she mentally ignored all the names that she was already familiar with.

She rounded up the names that she had never heard of or met before and gave the file to the woman standing beside her. "Here. Check all the names I have rounded up. I want information on all these people. First, their personalities, and then their connections, and then the other smaller details."

"Okay, Boss," The woman said, taking the file and leaving the room immediately as she had to get to work.

The party would start in a couple of hours, and Helena should get the details before that, as she had to look through them before the party started.

Helena had another copy of the file in her hands, and she opened it slowly. She looked through the names once more to check if she had missed something.

Her eyes fell on a name, which was among many other names. "A Prince?" She softly mumbled and clicked her tongue.

She did not look at that name for too long before she looked through other names.

"It’s time to leave," Vincent announced, and everyone came to the door one after another.

"Helena, you look perfect," Jemma couldn’t help but praise Helena once again after seeing her final appearance. She was now not just done with makeup, hair, and dress, but she also styled everything perfectly with a few pieces of jewelry.

Helena blushed, "Thank you, Sister Jemma. You look beautiful too."

Jemma smiled.

"Let’s go?" Vincent asked Jemma.

Jemma nodded, "Sure."

Vincent took Jemma’s hand and helped her get into the car before closing the door behind her.

He turned to look at Vernon and Helena and said, "Follow behind us and don’t get lost in the middle."

"..."

"..."

Vernon and Helena were dumbfounded. Did they look like little children who would get lost if they released their hands from their mother’s?

Helena looked at them through the window and even her lips twitched. She used her index finger to poke his back.

Vincent held her finger behind his back, so she wouldn’t continue with her ’mischief’.

On the surface, he was still looking seriously at the young couple and continued, "You are now a married couple. All the eyes will be on you both today. So, be sure to behave properly. Do you understand?"

Vernon and Helena blinked their eyes and replied in unison, "Yes, Brother."

Vincent tried his best not to laugh at them and gave a serious nod at them before he got in the car as well.

As soon as he sat, the car drove away.

Inside the car, Jemma laughed out loud, "You! What were you doing earlier?"

Vincent chuckled, "What should I do? If they want to behave like kids, then I have to treat them as kids, right?"

She understood that he was talking about the way they were running around in the room earlier when they had arrived.

Jemma clicked her tongue, "Okay, you should stop treating them as kids if you want them to behave as adults."

Vincent gave her a look from the corner of his eye.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jemma moved away from him in wariness and asked.

"Do you really think they will behave like adults just like that?" He asked while wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her towards him. There is no way he would let her move away from him, even as a joke.

Jemma just smiled and said nothing. Only time will tell.

On the other hand, Helena and Vernon were frozen in their spots for a long time even after Vincent’s car left.

They looked in that direction in a daze.

"B... Second Madam," they heard a voice and came back to their senses.

Helena looked at the woman, who was her makeup artist, and raised an eyebrow.

She lowered her head as she almost made a mistake just now.

Helena glared at her. [What is she doing? What if others notice?]

Vernon frowned. He did not notice anything until he heard her inner voice.

He looked at the makeup artist and scrutinized her. She had a look of guilt on her face as she looked scared to face Helena.

(What is happening between them?)

"What are you still doing here? Isn’t the work done yet?" Vernon asked her. They were already about to get into the car to leave. How could the makeup artist still stay there?

The makeup artist was stunned for a second before she cleared her throat, "I am leaving, Second Master. I just wanted to ask the Second Madam if she needed anything to be touched up before I leave."

Vernon nodded. The reason she gave was normal, but the doubt in his heart about her did not diminish in the slightest. Clearly, her words were nothing but an excuse.

"I don’t need anything. You can leave now. Thank you," Helena smiled sweetly like her usual self. There was nothing different about her actions or words, but Vernon knew that she was definitely hiding something this time.

The woman nodded and excused herself to leave.

[Send it to my phone.]

Vernon heard her thoughts and looked at her discreetly. She was pointing her chin at her phone.

He then looked at the woman to find her nodding back at Helena.

Vernon’s doubts deepened when he saw their discreet actions.

What are they gesturing about? Why couldn’t they just talk directly in front of him?

And, what did Helena mean by sending it to her phone? Send what to her phone?

He did not ask her anything and looked at Helena, "Shall we start? Or my brother might say that we lost our way again."

Helena’s lips twitched when she recalled Vincent’s words from earlier. "I think something has gone wrong with Brother Vincent’s brain recently. What was he talking about? Why was he treating us like little toddlers?"

Vernon pursed his lips, trying to stop himself from laughing out loud.
