Chapter 84: Jemma is fine? No!

"What are you talking about? Why would I ever have any problems with Sister Jemma? She is the sweetest person I have ever known. She is like that elder sister that I never had in my life. Do you know how much I love her? How can you even ask such a nonsensical question? Why do you doubt that?

"Did someone say something to you about Sister Jemma? Did they say something bad about her? Who is that? How dare they? I am telling you, you should punch them and cut your ties with such a person from your life. How dare they talk bad about sister Jemma of all people? Are they trying to create rifts between you and Brother Vincent by doing this? How dare they? Who is it? Tell me the name and I will take care of that person," Helena went off like a loaded gun.

But her outburst didn’t anger Vernon. Instead, he felt happy and smiled.

He was happy that there was nothing wrong between Helena and Jemma just yet during this time.

But when he thinks of what happened to his sister-in-law during this time in his previous life, he couldn’t help but feel scared for her.

—Previous Life—

"Jemma. Baby, you are fine now. You are safe. You are with me now. I am here with you. Nothing will happen to you again," Vincent softly whispered in Jemma’s ears while gently patting her back.

Jemma, on the other hand, was trembling weakly like a leaf in his arms.

She had her eyes closed, cheeks streaming with tears, her body covered with a blanket, but still shivering underneath it.

Her hair was unkempt, and her face withered. She hadn’t washed for a week.

But Vincent did not care and hugged her as tight as he could, while also trying to be as gentle with her as possible.

She was scared. She was still in a state of shock. She had yet to realize that she was now safe and sound. She was stuck in the moment of her feared moments.

Despite Vincent’s numerous words right beside her ears, she did not realize that she was now in her husband’s arms.

They were in a hospital’s private room.

The doctors had already checked her and confirmed that there were actually no injuries on her body. That made Vincent sigh in relief, but when he looked at his wife’s emotional state, his heart hurt.

The doctors recommended him to meet a counselor for her before leaving the room for the couple.

After a while, the door was knocked on, and Vernon entered.

When he entered, he saw Jemma deep in her sleep while Vincent was lying beside her and holding her arm tightly.

"Brother," Vernon softly called him, without disturbing his sister in law.

Vincent raised his head, and that was when he realized that Vernon had entered the room.

Vincent nodded and lightly moved, got out of the bed, and gently removed Jemma’s grip on his hand.

He signaled Vernon to go outside to talk, and the two brothers slowly left the room.

"How is Sister-in-law now? Is she okay?" Vernon asked him.

Vincent sighed and shook his head. He used his palms to rub his face roughly.

"She is still in shock. She calmed down a lot compared to when we first found her, but... Anyway, she had no injuries at least." Vincent sighed again as he explained her situation to his younger brother.

Vernon nodded. He pursed his lips without saying anything for a long while.

He felt bad when he remembered how they found Jemma.

After a long while, he gritted his teeth and said, "Brother, we can’t let this matter go just like that. How dare he kidnap her? We should teach him a lesson. A good lesson that he would remember for his entire life."

Vincent looked at him and nodded, "Of course. How can I let go of the man who was responsible for making my wife suffer so much?"

Vernon nodded. "I want to go and beat him up with my own hands right now. Those jerks."

Vincent patted Vernon’s shoulder to calm him down. He knows his brother respected and cared for Jemma. "You should calm down. I understand your emotions, but we should never let our emotions take control of us. We will make them suffer, yes. But not just physical. They should suffer both physically and emotionally. To attain that, we should first remain calm and plan carefully."

Vernon looked at his older brother. He knows that Vincent was angrier at the situation than he was. If Vincent could control his emotions at this moment, then he should as well.

He understood and nodded, "Fine. Tell me what I should do and I will do it. No matter what, we should let them suffer for making my sister-in-law suffer like that."

Vincent nodded. "I will talk to his brother first. I think bringing him to our side will help us take care of this man. While I do that, you should take care of the men who followed him in our place.

"Knowing that we are Jeffery’s, they dared to gang up with people from another country to go against us? We should teach them a lesson. You know what to do about them, right?"

Vernon nodded immediately, "Don’t worry, brother. I will take care of those idiots. You take care of my sister-in-law. I am sure she should be scared, and you should stay by her side until she recovers completely."

Vincent smiled, patted his shoulder, and nodded, "Okay. You go now."

Vincent entered the room, Vernon turned around to leave, but someone called him from behind.

He stopped, turned around to look at the person, "What is it? What are you doing here?"

"Vernon, I should talk to you about something. It is about Helena. You should be careful about her. Do you know that your sister-in-law is in this position because of Helena? She was the one responsible for this entire incident." The man said seriously.
