Chapter 55: Photo with the wife? Yes!

"What if she scolds me later and I suffer? I don’t want to take any chances."

Vernon and Helena exchanged glances and sighed.

Faye bade her goodbyes and left.

"Is everyone here?" Helena asked Vernon.

Vernon looked around and saw both his parents, Vincent and Jemma, as well as Father Ford.

They all gathered at the airport, ready to board their private plane.

Vernon did not expect this at all.

Helena did say that she wanted to go on a trip with Father Ford. But he thought that the trip would be just the couple and Father Ford alone.

Surprisingly, she invited all of his family as well.

She said that since it was a family trip anyway, the entire family should go together.

Helena did all the inviting, convincing and arranging for the entire trip as well.

Vernon nodded, "Everyone is here. Shall we go now?"

Helena nodded. She put on her large sunglasses and linked her arm with his as she pulled him to the plane.

The entire family boarded the plane, and in no time they reached the destination.

As soon as they got out of the plane, Jemma took a deep breath and gushed, "The air here is indeed great. So different from our place. Helena, the place you selected for the family vacation is very good."

Helena smiled and giggled happily at the compliment and politely thanked her.

While they were leaving the airport, they suddenly faced a group of reporters, flashing their cameras at them.

It wasn’t a shocking sight to either of the families.

Wherever they went, the reporters followed them.

Also, Vernon was the president of the entertainment company of Jeffery’s business.

So, he was the face of many celebrities, and he was always on the entertainment pages.

"Mr Vernon, a photo with your wife, please," A reporter asked.

Vernon looked at Helena, and she nodded.

The couple posed for a couple of pictures. The reporters did not stop there and clicked many pictures of all the other family members as well.

The bodyguards had helped them out of the airport securely, into their cars.

Helena had arranged for a couple of villas for their stay during the vacation.

The villas were facing the beach.

She handed the keys to everyone and said, "We will have dinner here, outside on the beach. Please be on time and rest up until then."

Everyone smiled at her. They were looking at her happily as if their child had grown up and was graduating from school as she was handling everything all by herself.

"Yes, ma’am," Everyone saluted to her in unison. Then they all looked at each other and burst out laughing. That was something they never planned.

"Did you all plan that?" Helena blinked her eyes in shock and asked.

Everyone shook their heads and went to their own villas.

Vernon looked around the villa and asked Helena, "There are a couple of hours before dinner. What are we doing till then?"

Helena looked at him and replied, "I have my plans. You can do whatever you want till then."

"What plans? Can I come?"

Helena shook her head, but she did not elaborate much and went to change her clothes.

After that, she left the villa. Vernon blinked his eyes, looking at her back.

He frowned.

He was curious about her plans. He did not hear her thoughts regarding this matter either. So, the curiosity only grew.

He decided to follow her.

-Cemetery-

Vernon looked at the entrance of the cemetery and frowned.

He did not know what Helena was doing here.

That was when he realized that Helena had worn black clothes when she left.

She was talking to a man, who looked like the in charge of the cemetery.

He couldn’t get too close to her and thus couldn’t hear what she was talking about with him. But he saw her giving him something.

It was a bag.

That bag looked familiar, and he frowned.

"Isn’t that the bag her father gave her during our wedding? What is that?" He mumbled softly to himself.

He continued looking and saw the in charge opening the bag and taking out an urn from inside.

Vernon was stunned. "An urn? Whose?"

Vernon thought back to the day of their wedding, Father Ford and Helena’s expressions, and his surroundings in the cemetery, and something clicked in his mind.

He felt a buzz in his head.

He saw the man taking the urn inside while Helena sat on the chair outside.

After a while, the man came outside and welcomed Helena inside as well.

Vernon did not move all along and stood in the same spot.

After a little while more, he saw Helena coming outside.

He did not hide from her.

When Helena came outside, she looked at him and was surprised.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

Vernon did not say anything.

"Did you follow me?" She asked again.

He nodded.

Helena sighed, "Then why did you wait outside? You should have come inside."

Vernon did not say anything again.

Helena looked at him and sighed once again. She walked towards him and gently patted him on the back, "Why do you look serious?"

"What were you doing here?" He asked her seriously.

She looked at him and then at the inside of the cemetery, "Well, I am arranging something for my mom."

She did not hide anything, nor did she elaborate much.

"I thought your mom was arranged in our city. Didn’t we go and meet her before our wedding as well? Why is she here now?" He asked.

Helena blinked her eyes. Her breath hitched for a second. She did not know what to say.

"Helena," He called out her name seriously.

She raised her head to look at him, and he continued, "Tell me the truth. What happened on our wedding day? I am sure I saw that bag on that day. You did not attend the banquet until you got that bag."
