Awakening of the Scheming Wife
Chapter 115: Obedient? Doubt it!

Chapter 115: Obedient? Doubt it!

They are beyond embarrassed to raise their heads.

"Hey, I am not your teacher and I definitely did not catch you two cheating. Why are you lowering your heads like that?" The man’s playful voice entered their ears and their cheeks reddened further.

They slowly raised their heads to look at the man.

They never saw him before. He was a complete stranger to both of them. "Ehem, we are sorry that you have to see such a thing," Helena was the one to compose herself and speak in a calm and collected voice.

The man did not say anything. He just had a smile on his lips as he looked at her.

Vernon looked at him and couldn’t help but frown.

He did not like the gaze of that man when he looked at Helena.

He subconsciously held Helena’s waist and pulled her closer, while twisting his body so that he wouldn’t be able to see her face.

The man looked at Vernon and raised an eyebrow. "Kid, you are interesting."

Vernon frowned. He did not like the man for some reason and didn’t want to talk to him.

He pulled Helena away from him while he called out, "Noah, follow us."

"Yes, Boss," Noah replied immediately.

Unlike Vernon’s arrogant back, Noah looked at the man and gave him a polite nod before following Vernon.

The man’s eyes did not leave the young couple’s backs as they walked very far away.

"What are you looking at?" A voice interrupted him.

The man looked at that man and smiled, "Brother. Nothing. I just found someone interesting. That’s all."

The other man frowned and warned him, "Don’t forget where we are. Don’t do anything reckless. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Brother. I am obedient," The man replied obediently but the corner of his eyes was filled with frivolousness.

No one knows if his words were trustworthy or not.

His brother just nodded and dragged him inside the banquet hall, keeping him close so that he wouldn’t cause any trouble when he was out of sight.

Later, the event ended smoothly at midnight.

Vernon and Helena went back to their home with their bodies tired.

As soon as Helena entered her room, she removed her tight dress and finally breathed.

"Ahh! That was heaven. Never knew that the ability to breathe was so great." She sighed and fell on her bed.

*Knock Knock*

She heard the sounds of her door knock and frowned. She doesn’t want to leave her bed at all.

"Who is it?" She asked.

There is no one else in the home except Vernon and a couple of servants other than her.

"It’s me." It was Vernon who replied.

"Just come in," She did not lock her door anyway. And she did not want to move. So she called him inside.

Vernon entered the room and saw her sprawling on the entire bed lazily.

He chuckled seeing her like that and asked, "Too tired?"

Helena pouted her lips and nodded cutely with her hair messily covering her face.

Vernon smiled at her.

"I don’t want to disturb you either. But I thought we should talk about what happened earlier," Vernon stopped smiling and said as he walked to her bed.

She blinked her eyes in confusion and asked, "About what?"

Vernon looked at her confused expression and did not know how to broach the topic.

"Helena, earlier, you behaved differently. What happened? Did you remember something?" He asked slowly in a soft voice.

He did not say anything outright.

He can’t just ask her if she came from the past life, right? If something were amiss, she would definitely think that he had completely gone crazy.

"Remember something? Remember what? Vernon, why are you going around the topic instead of asking me directly whatever you want to ask?" She was too tired to play any word games with him right now.

Vernon winced. He scratched the back of his head.

"What is it? At what time did I act differently? Maybe if you remind me of the topic, I might remember, right?" Helena saw his expression and asked after sighing.

Vernon felt conflicted. He doesn’t really want to bring up that topic again. But he had no choice.

He turned his body sideways. He looked like he was ready to escape at any moment as he opened his lips to speak.

Helena’s lips twitched, "What are you doing? Do I look like I want to eat you? Just come closer and speak normally."

Vernon was hesitant.

But looking at her warning expression, he had no choice but to walk towards the bed and say, "When I talked about or divorce... you..."

"I? What did I do?" Helena asked.

It sounded normal.

But Vernon felt something was weird.

"Umm... Are you okay?"

Helena sat on her bed and looked at him with a smile.

But that smile wasn’t as cute as her usual smile.

It looked cold.

He was now sure. This Helena is from the past again.

"You are from the past?" He blurted out.

"Past? What are you talking about? Have you gone crazy?" Helena asked him.

But she did not have the disdain in her eyes she usually had when she looked down on him when they verbally fought.

This was different.

She looked at him like he did not make any sense at all.

"Helena?"

"Yes?"

"Are you really Helena?" He asked softly.

"If not? Would you go into the bedroom of someone other than your wife’s at this hour?" She looked at him and asked.

Vernon immediately shook his head like a rattle drum.

"Thought so." Helena looked away from him.

That was when her eyes were finally diverted away from him and fell on her room.

"Where is this place? It looks familiar." She stated out of the blue.

"This is your room," Vernon answered.

"My room? What are you talking about? We always had a room together. When did I get my own room? Then where are you sleeping, huh?" Helena asked.
