Avery's Game Of Revenge
Chapter 175: In The Middle Of The Room

Chapter 175: In The Middle Of The Room

Avery’s fingers flew across the screen as she typed her reply. "Uhm... what does it look like? Maybe trying to find relief somewhere else since my husband is denying me."

The response came in all caps, and she could almost hear the growl in his voice. "GET OVER HERE."

Avery didn’t hesitate. She excused herself from Alice and the actor, claiming she needed to visit the restroom. As she walked away, she passed by Archie but didn’t stop. She could feel his eyes burning into her, but she kept moving, her heels clicking against the floor as she stepped out of the hall and turned down a quiet, dimly lit corridor.

Before she could even take a full breath, she was being pushed against the wall, Archie’s body looming over her. His hands gripped her shoulders, his blue eyes blazing behind his glasses as he stared down at her.

"You wanted to seek relief from another man because your husband was denying you?!" he demanded, his voice low and rough with anger. "You think I want to do this?"

Avery swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest. His frustration was palpable, but it only fueled her own. "Why do you sound angry?" she shot back, her voice trembling. "I’m the one who’s been toyed with for the past half hour, not you!"

Archie’s jaw tightened, but one of his hands moved to cup her face, his touch surprisingly gentle as he untied the mask she was wearing. It fell away, and he cradled her cheek, his thumb brushing over her skin as he stared down at her lips.

"Having fun?" he asked, his voice softer now but still laced with tension.

Avery’s breath caught in her throat, her defiance wavering as she looked up at him. She didn’t know how to answer. All she knew was that she needed him—needed this to end. And from the way he was looking at her, she could tell he was just as desperate as she was.

The tension between them was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and simmering desire. Her breath hitched as his thumb brushed against her cheek, his touch both tender and possessive. She could feel the heat of his body pressing against hers, the weight of his frustration and longing mirrored in his piercing blue eyes.

"Answer me, Ava. Having fun?" he repeated, his voice low and edged with a rawness that sent shivers down her spine.

Avery’s lips parted, but no words came out. Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions, frustration, need, and a flicker of defiance that refused to be extinguished. She swallowed hard, her voice trembling as she finally managed to speak. "You think this is fun for me? Being teased, denied, pushed to the edge over and over again? Do you have any idea how maddening it is?"

Archie’s scoff was sharp, laced with frustration as he pinned her with his gaze. "Of course, I do," he murmured, his voice thick with restraint. "Do you have any idea what it was like for me, watching you tremble, knowing exactly what was causing it? For every shake of your leg, every little gasp you tried to swallow, I wished I was between them instead."

Her breath hitched, and his hand tightened against her cheek, his thumb brushing dangerously close to the corner of her lips.

"It was all I could do not to stride over there, push your dress up, and take you right in the middle of that room," he admitted, his voice a low growl. "But I had to control myself. I had to let you learn your lesson. And I’d be damned if I let the other men in that room see what you look like when you come for me."

He dipped his head lower, his lips a breath away from hers. "Tell me," he said, his voice like silk wrapping around her, "did you learn your lesson?"

Avery swallowed hard, her pride crumbling under the weight of his dominance. "Yes," she whispered.

"Will you ever lie to me again?" His gaze darkened, daring her to defy him.

She shook her head, her lips parting slightly. "I won’t," she breathed.

A satisfied smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Good," he murmured, his fingers trailing down to her jaw. "Because edging you made me suffer ten times the torture it inflicted on you."

His hand dropped to her waist, pulling her closer as his breath fanned against her lips. "I waited long enough for this," he murmured.

The air between them crackled with tension, thick and electric, as his hand lingered on her cheek, his thumb brushing softly against her skin. Avery’s breath hitched, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she stared up at him, her lips slightly parted. The mask was gone, and there was nothing left to hide behind—for now— no games, no pretenses, just the raw, unspoken need that had been building between them for what felt like an eternity.

Archie’s gaze dropped to her lips, his blue eyes darkening with something primal, something that made Avery’s knees weaken. She could feel the heat of his body pressing against hers, the way his breath mingled with hers in the narrow space between them. Her heart pounded so loudly she was sure he could hear it, and yet the world around them seemed to fade into silence.

"Avery," he murmured, her name a low, almost pained whisper on his lips. It was a warning, a plea, a promise, all at once.

Avery didn’t respond.

He had called her by her real name.

Like the night when he comforted her, making her cry by going down on her. It was like he was speaking to the real her, Avery, now... and not Ava Donovan.

She opened her mouth to mention it, but words failed her.

Instead, she tilted her head up, her eyes fluttering shut as she silently gave him what he wanted, what she needed. Her lips trembled in anticipation, and for a moment, she thought he might pull away, might drag this out even longer. But then his mouth crashed down on hers, and the world exploded.
