Chapter 1219: One Month

After a few more awkward exchanges, Atticus finally found out what they were on about. For Kael, he simply wanted to spar with Atticus, which to him, was utterly mind blowing.

Why the hell would he want to fight a god?

For Aric, it was more reasonable. The man hadn’t been in the meeting with them but had somehow felt that there was an impending battle coming.

It was a sense Atticus found hard to believe existed, but he couldn’t help but be more baffled when he saw that Aric hadn’t been lying.

He really could sense when a battle was coming.

Atticus had eventually resigned and filled them both in on what was happening. He couldn’t spar with Kael because of the limited time. And what Aric had felt was most likely the upcoming Virelenna.

After that, they both left, and Atticus was left alone to focus on his training. Settling down, Atticus entered a deep state of meditation. He cleared his mind and focused on only one thing…

His elements.

And just like that, one month passed.

The past one month had felt like a second. A blip.

For many on Eldoralth, it was just like any other time period. But to those who knew of the upcoming events, it was far too short of a period than they’d like.

During this time, Eldoralth had experienced a significant change. Parts of the world had turned blue, much to Whisker’s dismay.

Entire forests of green. Clear lakes. High, imposing mountain ranges. The change came randomly and affected different parts of the planet.

For the citizens of the new world, the change came from the mana. Once more, and in the span of a year, its density had increased and surpassed its earlier peak.

Only the higher ups knew what had truly happened.

As the day for the Virelenna approached, Atticus decided it was time to absorb the Zorvan core. He had found and forcibly teleported Whisker to his location and made his intentions known.

Whisker had instantly nodded and explained the process of retrieving the core without killing the other party. It was quite straightforward, unlike what Atticus would’ve expected.

Luckily, he hadn’t attempted anything dangerous like with the Apexes, where he had to send his consciousness into their core to copy it.

This time, one of them simply had to initiate a battle between gods. Here, the both of them had been forcibly pulled into the Arena of the Gods, where Whisker had instantly raised up his hands and surrendered.

It had been a bit shocking. Atticus had no idea that there was an option to surrender. He had assumed that it was a battle to the death or nothing.

Regardless, it wasn’t as straightforward as he had believed. There were things that had to be met for this method to work.

Atticus, the opponent, had to agree and accept Whisker’s surrender. And after that, Whisker’s world will had harmlessly moved over to Atticus, and so had the control over his worlds.

Unfortunately, when a god and god fought in the Arena, it was all or nothing. Atticus hadn’t just gotten the Zorvan world, but the random one Whisker had taken control of too.

After that, Atticus had been given the choice of merging the worlds under his control or leaving them separated.

He didn’t even have to think. He had merged them immediately. With the upcoming competition, Atticus couldn’t afford to leave his forces divided.

The merging of the Zorvan world had increased the mana density and was what turned some parts of the world blue. Meanwhile, the second world left next to no visible signs of its presence.

Atticus had an increase in his mana reserves and also his Will. While the Zorvan world had been more or less devoid of living beings, a world was still a world.

‘If only there had been a way to defeat Vorak without killing the Zorvan…’

It was a thought that would sometimes pop up in Atticus’ mind. But he’d quickly shake it away. What had happened had happened, and there was no changing that.

After that, Whisker had been left to his devices, while Atticus had focused on refining his newly gained power.

And now, one month had fully passed, and Atticus found himself standing on top of a tall hill, overlooking the sprawling Eldoralth below him.

He took in the bustling people. Some happy, some angry, some sad. The people were going about their lives in their different ways.

‘We’ve come a long way,’ Atticus couldn’t help but think.

He had started this journey when he had been reborn into this world. And the situation of Eldoralth then, compared to now, was akin to heaven and earth. They couldn’t be compared.

The Zorvan alien threat was gone. The tension between the different races had been extinguished. Most of the planet had been flattened, and many terrains changed.

Eldoralth was no longer divided, but under one rule. His.

When Atticus first opened his eyes in this world and laid eyes on his mother, he would’ve never thought he’d end up in this position. Ever.

But here he was, standing on top of a hill like a god overlooking his subjects.

Only, it was literal.

He was a god. And he was overlooking his subjects.

“Enough of this cringe stuff, let’s get to the thrashing of aliens!”

Atticus smiled. Throughout the one month, Ozeroth hadn’t stopped pestering him about the upcoming competition with the other segments.

In his words, he wanted to thrash alien asses. But Atticus knew the real reason for his excitement.

“You just can’t wait to show off in front of other worlds, can you…”

Ozeroth didn’t deny it. “They should be honored,” he said. “They get to witness my glory, and it’s all for free.”

“You want to charge them?” Atticus was baffled.

“Oh please, bond. If I were to charge them, none of them would be able to afford it!”

“Of course.” Atticus chuckled and shook his head. Conversing with Ozeroth had never been stale, even if they were literally together most of the time.

‘It’s almost time.’ Atticus exhaled heavily. He could feel it. The Virelenna was happening very soon.

‘Alright. Let me check my progress.’

It had been more than a year already. And Atticus had been training constantly for that duration.

It was time to mark his progress.
