Chapter 767: Chapter 125 Prelude to War_2 Chapter 767: Chapter 125 Prelude to War_2 “Lord Titus…”
Duke Walter looked up at the Gold Dragon in the sky, his expression stirred, then he lowered his head and shifted his gaze to his own army.
In the dawn’s dim light, the towering city walls stood firm, flags fluttering, and in front of the walls, a vast and powerful Allied Forces had gathered like never before.
On the ground, tens of thousands of soldiers from North Aisier were neatly arranged, clad in bright steel armor, holding gleaming longswords or shields, their expressions determined, eyes fervent, arrayed as densely as an iron wall.
They were all elite troops pulled from various places in North Aisier, including many Supernatural professionals, many of whom had followed Walter through life and death, enduring hardships, always believing that the Duke could lead them to rebuild the Holy Fadlan.
Behind them stood the mages, draped in magnificent Mage Robes, holding Magic Wands, enveloped in magical runes glowing around them.
Some of them were deep in thought, others whispered Spells, the air thick with intense energy fluctuations, occasionally sparking at their fingertips.
Among these mages were former members of Fadlan’s Arcane Legion, reinforcements requested by Duke Walter from the City of Thousand Laws, and justices from the Arcane Priory.
In the sky, nine Angel Divine Descendants wielding Flame Longswords fluttered their wings, their gazes piercingly sharp, showcasing the nobility and might of the Fadelan Divine Race, with three among them being Legendary Warriors.
Above Collins City, there were not only Fadlan’s Angel Divine Descendants but also genuine creatures from Heaven.
Solemn hymns echoed through the sky, indistinct figures accompanied by ripples of space appeared above the clouds, gradually solidifying.
Justice Envoys, Legion Angels, Horn Angels, Chanting Angels, and other angels from the Silver Heaven Legion aligned neatly in the sky, their wings as white as clouds, trembling lightly, emitting a holy and gentle radiance.
Heavenly Pegasus, Cloud Giants, Heavenly Demon Spirits, Heavenly Eagles, and other good creatures of Heavenly Mountain also appeared on the top of the clouds, becoming part of the Heavenly Legion.
Following that, along with the brilliance of the stars, a towering silver figure appeared at the forefront of the Heavenly Legion.
He held a Longsword bursting with electric light, carrying a bright silver horn, dressed in a violet robe embellished with stardust-like twinkling light.
The huge white-feathered wings made His shoulders look more graceful; His dark purple eyes looked down upon the land with a compassionate gaze, shining brilliantly.
A majestic voice echoed over the land: “Walter, I have come at your request, representing the will of Heavenly Mountain, to provide assistance to North Aisier!”
From the moment he appeared, a gentle, orderly light pervaded the sky, making everyone present feel an unprecedented peace, as if the impurities and sins within their hearts were cleansed.
Everyone held their breath and looked up, only to see behind this towering figure the eternal night sky emerged, covered with twinkling stars and silver moonlight–that was the projection of Silver Heaven Lunia.
Walter also showed a joyful expression, his eyes gaining additional confidence, knowing what this meant.
–The noble Lord of Silver Heaven Lunia, Protector of Messengers, Balachiel, has descended into the Material Plane!
Walter quickly flapped his wings, flew high into the sky, bowed respectfully, and said with an excited tone: “Good day, Lord Balachiel, the whole of North Aisier has been awaiting your arrival.”
Titus also flapped his wings, coming above the clouds, facing this noble Lord of Silver Heaven, even the proud Gold Dragon had to bow its head, nodding in a gesture of respect.
Balachiel nodded to them, then unhooked the bright silver horn strapped around his waist and blew into it.
Following that, all the horn-blowing Divine Envoys in the Heavenly Legion sounded their horns, while the Harp Angels softly sang hymns.
“Woo—-”
The sound of the horn echoed through the sky, like a war song from heaven, bringing an exhilarating strength. Everyone present could feel it–a surge of unprecedented courage and fighting spirit filling their hearts.
Their bodies emanated a faint glow, like the light of the stars, which made the warriors’ minds agile, their thoughts clear, and even their bodies lighter and stronger.
Unlike those stirring war songs that make soldiers fearlessly brave, the war song of heaven evokes the most beautiful illusions and greatest desires in people’s hearts, urging them to give their all for these aspirations.
Walter closed his eyes, and in an instant, the majestic Holy City and the towering Eternal Sun God Tower appeared in the distance, the sunlight bathing the land, faces of the Fadlan people brimming with joy and confidence…
He felt as though he had returned to that glorious era, to that unforgettable Ascension Ritual.
After a long silence, the Divine Duke slowly opened his eyes, and at this moment, his gaze beheld a vast and impressive Allied Forces.
Divine Descendant, human, Half-elf, Angel, Heavenly Pegasus, Cloud Giant… countless good and just creatures gathered here, their races mixed, but their strength was by no means trivial, with at least a dozen Legendary Warriors.
Such an army, anywhere in the Fianso Continent, would be a formidable force, one that not even the Three Great Kingdoms could easily defeat.
In these months, Walter had exhausted almost all his connections, traveling between planes, even setting aside his dignity, to assemble such a vast Allied Forces.
“I will prevail, I will lead the Allied Forces to drive the Red Dragon out of Aisier, and reclaim the ancient lands of the Empire of Fadlan…”
Walter clasped the Longsword in his hands, declaring word by word: “Where sunlight reaches, is the Empire’s territory.” Instantly, his pale golden eyes revealed an unprecedented determination.
The Divine Duke believed he had done everything possible; he had no reason to lose, nor could he afford to.
With that thought, Walter spread his Feathers and moved to the very front of the Allied Forces, he raised the Longsword ablaze with golden flames, drawing all eyes to him.
“Today, standing here, I feel not only the severity and challenge of the imminent battle but also a determination and strength I have never felt before.
Every inch of air on this land is filled with our vows, every heart beats for the same goal–we will protect our homeland, defend our beliefs, and not let this land succumb to the threat of evil dragons!”
His voice grew more passionate and resounding, banging like drum sounds in people’s ears.
This is not just a war; it is our vow, our belief, our unyielding determination! Today, the evil dragons will see our swords, our shields, and the flame and radiance in our eyes!
Justice and righteousness will prevail, and the arrogance of the evil dragons will turn to ashes before our mighty Allied Forces!”
“Justice shall prevail!”
The soldiers of the Allied Forces waved their weapons, shouting praises that pierced the heavens; the Gold Dragon roared proudly, and even the Angels’ faces showed a fighting spirit.
However, Duke Walter did not know that the enemy he despised was boldly present within the ranks of the Allied Forces, even cheering among them.
The noise gradually ceased, and the Allied Forces of Collins City began their tense preparation for battle. Walter and his two most powerful allies entered a secret chamber to discuss strategies against the Red Dragon.
“Hoo–”
The cold wind howled, the dawn’s light brightening the sky, the golden flag of Holy Fadlan fluttering on the castle walls, the air thick with tension, as if the entire sky held its breath in anticipation.
Everyone present understood that the war was inevitable–at just nineteen days, nearly all of North Aisier had fallen, and Collins City was their last stand.
This was the final battle, a war determining the fate of North Aisier and even the entire Fianso Continent.
