Chapter 952: Evolving Realm
Chapter 952: Evolving Realm
The five Chaos Arts Practitioners had finally arrived in their home...
It was the world ruled by Arcanists, but it was not the world they had left behind.
Just from a swift wave of their Immortal Sense, they were able to tell that the number of Arcanists here was extremely overwhelming!
It felt as if ordinary people had become rare instead!
Indeed, time had moved on without them...
Nonetheless, they were all happy. The landscape before them was both achingly familiar and unsettlingly alien.
Just seeing the dense forest almost made them tear up! After all, trees or any plant life was extremely rare in the Expanse.
The five Immortals stood there for a moment...
Sunlight filtered through the canopy and they couldn’t help but smile.
The sun in the Expanse was scorching and could kill most living things aside from Immortals. However, the sun here was gentle and felt as if it was nurturing them. It was such a strange sensation.
They had almost forgotten this rejuvenating sensation.
Kent took a deep breath, savoring this sensation of being back in a world where the laws of reality felt stable, where the air breeze wasn’t there to harm them.
But he knew better than to let his guard down.
"We need to hide our auras," Kent said as actually felt a few powerful beings just now. There was no other Immortal who had been detected just now, but he sensed dozens of Half-Immortals.
With five Immortals in their lineup, they shouldn’t be afraid at all. However, their life of being cautious every day tells them that they should do it here too.
"We’ve been gone for hundreds of years. We don’t know who rules this world now, or if the Council of the Twelve Arcane Paths still holds power. Until we have more information, we can’t afford to draw attention to ourselves. With so many Arcanists roaming around, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are Immortals here hiding like us."
The others nodded as they had to take this matter seriously.
Who knows, the Paragons might still be here or perhaps, the Avatars of the Gods and Goddesses might even be waiting for them.
They had to be careful...
Gyn, the oldest and most experienced among them, agreed to this...
He closed his eyes and controlled his Chaos Energy. His hands created a simple pattern in the air and soon, a gray light surrounded him as his aura was suppressed, making him appear no different from an ordinary traveler.
The others followed suit, each using their own methods to cloak their presence.
It was something they wouldn’t do all the time in the Shattered Expanse but they were still quite adept on this.
Once their auras were concealed, Kent turned to the group. "We’ll need to gather information. The first priority is to find out who rules this world and what has changed since we were exiled. We’ll split into two groups. Gyn, you take two of your subordinates and scout the nearby settlements. Look for signs of the Council or any other ruling powers. Be discreet—we can’t risk being discovered yet."
Gyn nodded, his expression grim. "Understood. We’ll meet again by nightfall... How about that city in the south where I can sense five Half-Immortals."
"That’s fine." Kent nodded.
"I suggest you bring Thassa with you." Gyn said as he looked at his three subordinates. Thassa was the one with the best movement techniques among the three and Gyn believed that he would be able to follow Kent easily.
Kent turned to Thassa and recalled that this Immortal was indeed incredible in the movement arts... "Alright... You’re with me. We’ll head to the city on the west where I can sense a few Vampires roaming around... Be careful in places with too many Half-Immortals, Gyn... If the Council still rules, their presence will be strongest there. We’ll need to tread carefully."
"I understand..."
As Gyn and his subordinates disappeared into the forest, Kent and Thassa set off in a different direction.
They weren’t planning to use too powerful movement techniques as they sensed that the Divinity here was barely present.
It means that the recovery rate of Divinity would be a lot slower.
Nonetheless, the fact that the Will of the Realm didn’t reject their presence, means that they are truly recognized by the realm...
They weren’t being pressured to ascend to a higher realm after all. It was definitely a sign that this realm must be evolving to a higher realm!
Even some Arcane Immortals may not be aware of this at all.
After all, even Kent didn’t know that realm could evolve until they were exiled to the Shattered Expanse.
’Is this Realm really evolving?’ Kent thought to himself as he moved. After all, there were five immortals present here, but the space fabric was stable.
This means that the realm seems capable of handling multiple Immortals right now. Something that shouldn’t be possible before.
This was truly impressive but also concerning...
After all, if this had really become a higher realm, it meant that it could become the target of Realm Invaders.
"I guess the thing that the Paragons wanted to stop is still happening..." Kent muttered to himself as his mind raced.
After all, they knew that one of the reasons they were exiled wasn’t just because of how powerful Chaos Arts were and how they could threaten the twelve Arcane Paths.
It was also because they were closer to becoming Immortals than any other Arcane Paths!
Kent’s thought was interrupted as he saw the distant buildings of the city from the horizon.
The sight stirred something deep within Kent—both nostalgia and unease.
This was the world he had fought to return to, but it was no longer the world he remembered. It was different.
As they approached the city, they noticed the changes immediately.
The architecture was different, more refined, and more intricate than what they had known.
The streets were bustling with people, arcanists, and even summons from another realm...
"Elementals?" Kent muttered.
He also noticed that their clothing and mannerisms were unfamiliar.
Soon, Kent and Thassa blended into the crowd...
